As a family we have been using Right at Home for a few months now to provide care and support for my mother. During this time we have been very happy with the service they have provided. The management and carers have quickly established a great relationship with my mother ,and us as a family. Their flexibility, sometimes at very short notice, has allowed us to make the most of our time with our mother.
Shortly before a planned holiday in Whitley Bay, my 88 year old mother had a fall. We decided to go on the trip but needed support care morning and evening to enable my mother to convalesce as she had exacerbated physical and memory difficulties. At a week's notice a thorough and detailed care plan was put into operation for the 2 week stay. The care was shared as requested between 2 experienced carers who arrived promptly, even early, at times. They followed the plan through to the letter, in ensuring my mother was washed, dressed in well co-ordinated outfits and given breakfast and an evening meal together with her medication. Their calm and caring demeanour was very soothing and reassuring for my mother, who was a little confused at times! They then sat and talked with her, allowing me a time for shopping and to take a walk. A very detailed outline of what they had done was regularly logged in a very clear and comprehensive file produced on the first evening after an initial meeting on day 1 with the care co-ordinator. I was also much impressed that the owner kept in personal contact with me throughout. I found the level of professionalism and care at all levels of the organisation to be exceptional! Without 'Right at Home' I doubt that the holiday would have been possible and it is because of them it was so successful. My mother really loved her holiday and her general health, mobility and memory improved during the stay. A heartfelt thank you to 'Right at Home'.
