I felt it was time for my mum who lives on her own and doesn’t get many visitors for a little more help, not in a caring way but more companionship as she’s very lonely, Right at Home come once a week, and mum enjoys the company, they take her out anywhere she wants and always make sure she has had
a meal, taking the pressure off me! Who knows what will happen in the future, we may need extra help, we wouldn’t hesitate to ask for more visits with Right at Home.

We have been very pleased with the quality of care and carers provided by the company. My father feels well cared for and likes their visits. I am especially pleased with how the company is really trying to work at helping clients with dementia to be able to stay in their own homes, living well, for
longer. If we have had any concerns about anything the company has dealt with them promptly and efficiently. Comprehensive records are kept at all times, so we are always able to read what Dad has been doing and how he has been at each visit, which we find really useful.

Please convey my thanks to the carer who helped my wife who suffered from Parkinson's and Dementia. Caring for my wife had become increasingly difficult. The carer was professional and courteous not only to my wife but also to myself. It was evident that the years of experience was a bonus for my wife
and myself. If there were more givers like her our world would be much happier.

I have to add to this message of appreciation that all of the staff from Right At Home have been a pleasure to meet beyond their professionalism.

Right at Home (Nottingham) provided daily care visits for my father which were good and helpful. However, when he needed an increased level of care they were exceptionally helpful in arranging a live-in carer, They spent time finding someone (there were not many options on the timescale we were working
to) and supported both him and us to ensure the settling in process was as easy as possible. Nothing has been too much trouble and we always feel that if we need help/advice/information etc the management team will be there to offer it. When a different live-in carer was required they again have provided someone who is caring and diligent. Thank you.

Mum was treated with the utmost care and dignity at all times. She was challenging at times but whenever possible the care team allowed her to make her own choice making her feel more in control of her dementia.

Very happy with the continued service my mother receives. Flexible in altering visit times - when she forgets an appointment. The carers are all lovely and go out of their way to accommodate her. She looks forward to her accompanied trip out shopping (especially when it's a certain carer in particular).
Recently her cat died and her carer came back in her break with a spade to bury it at the bottom of the garden and bought her a plant to go over the grave. That's going the extra mile.
I know if I have any concerns, I can ring for advice, help, or just a chat about how she is. The peace of mind this gives me and not having to worry about her situation is fantastic.

My first contact with Right at Home was in 2014 when an elderly neighbour sustained a fall after which he was unable to walk and as his wife was frail, developing dementia and there is no family, the firm provided support. Over the following 3 years, the ongoing care has been fantastic; 2 carers have
visited 3 times a day and have always been totally reliable and treated the gentleman with kindness and respect. Their help has gone far beyond what was scheduled eg. the client has been taken to hospital appointments in wheelchair-adapted transport. When his wife was hospitalised, carers visited her in their own time and she also benefitted greatly from daily visits from a dementia specialist from the firm. When she died, the support we received from the firm was of the highest standard. The client now has a live-in carer for whom nothing is too much trouble and the gentleman, now in his 90's, is flourishing. I have been most grateful for the firm's advice and support throughout.

Right at Home have been providing care for my father over the last few months. What has particularly impressed me has been their responsiveness to any changes in care needs - as well as respect for dignity and ensuring as much independence as possible for those needing care.

Right at home have proved to be an excellent choice of care provider for our parents. All of the staff are very friendly, helpful, professional and understanding to their needs. They, have also proved to be very flexible and accommodating when we have needed extra care, particularly when one of our
parents has been in hospital. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who has elderly parents or relatives that need care in their own home.

The Right at Home staff has always had my mother's best interests at heart and have tried to accommodate their visits with how she wants to live her life. Not only is she well looked after but the care over her home has been wonderful. My mother is always nicely dressed and the house is always clean
and tidy no matter what time of day I drop in.

Being in her own home and having the support of the Right at Home carers, my mother is still able to join in with village life, whether that be the local coffee morning, village fete or church on a Sunday. She still has her hair done by her usual hairdresser and the carers arrange appointments for eye tests, chiropodist and anything else she needs. Trips out have also included the local panto, Christmas parties and Attenborough Nature Reserve.

Having peace of mind that my mother is safe and happy is great.

I care for my wife, she has Parkinsons KU-COPD asthma, osteoarthritis. She is in a wheelchair at daytime, at 7am two carers from Right at Home come and get her out of bed, washed, dressed and down stairs. During the day I look after my wife, at 8pm the carers come to put my wife to bed this takes
about 45 minutes, sometimes longer. We also have a companionship for my wife 2-3 hour sessions Tuesday-Thursday, this is designed to give me time to go shopping or do jobs I need to do or relax.

My Mother has been using Right at Home for a number of years now. The staff have all been very kind and attentive to mothers personal needs. They always make her feel special and important. Just recently there was a need to change mothers normal routine. The Right at Home team pulled out all the stops
to make sure that she would be ready for an unseen appointment. A big thank you to all the staff and support they give to us as a family.

My mother is 88 and has dementia, and we have been using Right at Home for just over a year.

All of the care givers that help my mother in the mornings and evenings, are very nice and take the time to treat my mother with dignity and respect, enabling her to live independently. I have no worries

as to how she is and this is of immense help to me, as it means I can remain in full time employment.

After experiencing two previous care companies who failed to provide a reliable service, I feel truly blessed at having found this care provider, I can highly recommend them.

I have been a client of Right At Home for over a year now, and have found the service they provide to be very professional, discreet and sensitive to my individual requirements. As a young professional with an active social life, it is very important for me that the support I receive fits around my
lifestyle instead of impinging on it, and in Right At Home I have managed to find a company that fully buys into this ethos. Their management team are very aware of the different needs of their different clients, and have always ensured that they have sent people to my calls who are suited to the Independent and professional life that I lead. I have heard from people in other areas of the country that they have really struggled to find care companies that cater satisfactorily for young, independently-minded clients, and therefore I consider myself very fortunate to have found Right At Home, and would recommend them to anyone else in this situation.

The company was very thorough in finding out Dad's care needs before putting carers in place. They carried out a full care assessment, which included bringing in a lady who watched how Dad walked around his flat and in and out of his chair etc. and then advised how things could be put in place to
make things safer for him. Between us we discussed how many visits a day he would need and what we expected from those visits. My Dad has been very well cared for and the carers have done everything that we hoped they would and at times more. Apart from any physical help with washing and dressing, they also prepare his meals and do his washing, ironing and keep the flat clean and tidy. When he needs any shopping, they are happy to pick things up for him and he looks forward to their visits and chats. They are very flexible if we need to make any last minute changes to his visits and are always happy to talk if we have any concerns.

We have recently started using Right at Home and so far the staff have been very efficient and effective in their roles from the carers to the administrators.
We encountered the company really by accident but are really pleased we did. They have stepped-in in an emergency situation and been able to
accommodate all the hours and the complex needs of my disabled husband.
My husband has a small team working with him and each one has been very professional in their approach to his care, taking time to get to know him and being respectful and sensitive to his needs.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.970 for Right at Home Nottingham (South) is calculated as follows: ( (64 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 66 Ratings = 4.97

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Starting Right at Home Nottingham has been a pleasure and honour, as being an active part of my local community in Nottingham is something I have always aimed for.

For over 20 years I have built up a huge level of experience in the franchise business sector. After running a successful cleaning and restoration agency in the East Midlands I became a national franchise business consultant; helping others along the path of business ownership. It was here I found Right at Home.

The one thing my businesses have shared is ‘people’ – motivated, competent, caring people that I’ve worked with, as well as people who’ve needed a helping hand to fix their homes and those who have needed guidance and help in their careers. It’s fair to say my passion is in people and it is the sole reason why I knew that Right at Home was the perfect opportunity for me. Almost anyone can act the part as a business owner, but I know that to work so closely in your community and to touch the lives of others, you have to possess a genuine desire to help people.

I have always had a strong understanding and empathy for care; my mother was a Nurse in Nottingham’s QMC Hospital so it’s something that I have been a part of from a young age. My father has always played a key role in our community and is someone I look up to and respect. We’ve always been a close family and I think the skills to nurture relationships and to listen to others have definitely been passed down through the generations.

At Right at Home Nottingham I am dedicated to providing my community with the best home care services, to suit the lives and the needs of people’s loved ones. I am lucky to have the full support of my whole family - my wife, two sons and my parents.

Being the best we can be is in our family bones and I aim to offer the best home care, be it enabling independence for an octogenarian, providing short-term post-operative care to help someone back on their feet, or complex specialist care.

Whatever your needs, the team at Right at Home and I will be there to help.
