I care for my wife, she has Parkinsons KU-COPD asthma, osteoarthritis. She is in a wheelchair at daytime, at 7am two carers from Right at Home come and get her out of bed, washed, dressed and down stairs. During the day I look after my wife, at 8pm the carers come to put my wife to bed this takes about 45 minutes, sometimes longer. We also have a companionship for my wife 2-3 hour sessions Tuesday-Thursday, this is designed to give me time to go shopping or do jobs I need to do or relax.
My Mother has been using Right at Home for a number of years now. The staff have all been very kind and attentive to mothers personal needs. They always make her feel special and important. Just recently there was a need to change mothers normal routine. The Right at Home team pulled out all the stops to make sure that she would be ready for an unseen appointment. A big thank you to all the staff and support they give to us as a family.
Generally found the service to be good and carers are good. The management have always been friendly and helpful. My father has always been happy with the quality of the service he has been provided with.
My mother is 88 and has dementia, and we have been using Right at Home for just over a year.
All of the care givers that help my mother in the mornings and evenings, are very nice and take the time to treat my mother with dignity and respect, enabling her to live independently. I have no worries as to how she is and this is of immense help to me, as it means I can remain in full time employment.
After experiencing two previous care companies who failed to provide a reliable service, I feel truly blessed at having found this care provider, I can highly recommend them.
I have been a client of Right At Home for over a year now, and have found the service they provide to be very professional, discreet and sensitive to my individual requirements. As a young professional with an active social life, it is very important for me that the support I receive fits around my lifestyle instead of impinging on it, and in Right At Home I have managed to find a company that fully buys into this ethos. Their management team are very aware of the different needs of their different clients, and have always ensured that they have sent people to my calls who are suited to the Independent and professional life that I lead. I have heard from people in other areas of the country that they have really struggled to find care companies that cater satisfactorily for young, independently-minded clients, and therefore I consider myself very fortunate to have found Right At Home, and would recommend them to anyone else in this situation.
The company was very thorough in finding out Dad's care needs before putting carers in place. They carried out a full care assessment, which included bringing in a lady who watched how Dad walked around his flat and in and out of his chair etc. and then advised how things could be put in place to make things safer for him. Between us we discussed how many visits a day he would need and what we expected from those visits. My Dad has been very well cared for and the carers have done everything that we hoped they would and at times more. Apart from any physical help with washing and dressing, they also prepare his meals and do his washing, ironing and keep the flat clean and tidy. When he needs any shopping, they are happy to pick things up for him and he looks forward to their visits and chats. They are very flexible if we need to make any last minute changes to his visits and are always happy to talk if we have any concerns.
We encountered the company really by accident but are really pleased we did. They have stepped-in in an emergency situation and been able to accommodate all the hours and the complex needs of my disabled husband.
My husband has a small team working with him and each one has been very professional in their approach to his care, taking time to get to know him and being respectful and sensitive to his needs.
My dad had care from Right at Home from February 2015, when he moved to Nottingham due to failing health. Initially, the hospital felt he should have two carers four times a day due to mobility issues. With support from the team it was identified that his core strength was good and he was able to transfer with the assistance of one carer and this was not so intrusive to Dad. The care staff that went into dad always treated him with dignity and respect when performing his personal care, Dad found it difficult to be dependent as he always was very independent but the staff ensured that his independence was enhanced enabling him to perform the tasks that he could manage. They always gave him a choice of what he wanted to eat at meal times and Dad enjoyed the social chats from the caregivers. Dad was end of life care in November and the care he received from the caregivers was second to none, they went over and above their role to make his last days were comfortable.
We changed to this care company after the previous care company failed to provide a reliable and worthwhile support to my mother and haven't looked back.
My mother has Alzheimer’s and broke her hip 16 months ago. She is mobile with difficulty but lives on her own. She came out of the nursing home 14 months ago and was in a poor state eating little. We have had 3 or 4 carers visits a day to support her. With this care she has slowly got better. On occasions, at a weeks’ notice, we have been able to add extra carers visits when our circumstances have changed. That is over 1400 visits so far which have been totally reliable. The team of carers have always been very good and caring. At each visit they fill in a report sheet detailing food taken, medicines given, personal care given and the mood and condition of my mother. This is left in her home initially and is invaluable to me. If there is a problem such as her being ill or the washing machine leaking they contact me directly. I have been very pleased with the support they have given which, together with our support, has enabled her to fulfill her wishes and stay in her own home.
My elderly mother, nearly 87, has been using Right at Home services now for about two and a half years. She has bad arthritis and consequent poor mobility, and is also suffering from Alzheimers disease. She receives three visits from the care staff each day, to make sure she is out of bad, washed, dressed and has breakfast (AM), is OK and has something to eat at teatime, and is readied for bed (evening). Often a little shopping for food is done if she has run short of assentials.
I have been delighted with the service Mum has received from Right at Home. The staff have had to deal with various health issues, including a fall , during this time. They are all genuine, caring people and have often gone out of their way to provide any extra help required and have spent extra unscheduled time with Mum when necessary.
Although there are agencies with cheaper hourly rates I doubt very much if they could apply anything like the standards of care that R at H provide. Highly recommended!

Meet the Team (2)
Starting Right at Home Nottingham has been a pleasure and honour, as being an active part of my local community in Nottingham is something I have always aimed for.
For over 20 years I have built up a huge level of experience in the franchise business sector. After running a successful cleaning and restoration agency in the East Midlands I became a national franchise business consultant; helping others along the path of business ownership. It was here I found Right at Home.
The one thing my businesses have shared is ‘people’ – motivated, competent, caring people that I’ve worked with, as well as people who’ve needed a helping hand to fix their homes and those who have needed guidance and help in their careers. It’s fair to say my passion is in people and it is the sole reason why I knew that Right at Home was the perfect opportunity for me. Almost anyone can act the part as a business owner, but I know that to work so closely in your community and to touch the lives of others, you have to possess a genuine desire to help people.
I have always had a strong understanding and empathy for care; my mother was a Nurse in Nottingham’s QMC Hospital so it’s something that I have been a part of from a young age. My father has always played a key role in our community and is someone I look up to and respect. We’ve always been a close family and I think the skills to nurture relationships and to listen to others have definitely been passed down through the generations.
At Right at Home Nottingham I am dedicated to providing my community with the best home care services, to suit the lives and the needs of people’s loved ones. I am lucky to have the full support of my whole family - my wife, two sons and my parents.
Being the best we can be is in our family bones and I aim to offer the best home care, be it enabling independence for an octogenarian, providing short-term post-operative care to help someone back on their feet, or complex specialist care.
Whatever your needs, the team at Right at Home and I will be there to help.
