I have found the agency excellent in every way - they are very thorough, reliable, responsive, helpful and friendly. They go into a great deal of detail regarding the condition and needs of the person needing care and have very kindly supplied the same carer on a number of occasions, to give my husband continuity.
After a lengthy hospital stay, we've been able to get my mother home with the support of Bluebird.
My mother's live-in carer is wonderful. She is kind, caring and attentive. Her patience with my mother, who has dementia, is amazing. I can't speak highly enough of her, the daily carers who come in to assist her and the supervisors at Bluebird.
They bought him respectful, caring daily help. They raised his spirits and enabled him to carry on living feistily and independently.
Thank you to all the team.
In his 98th year, my father, a fiercely independent, long-since retired Doctor of Medicine - fully aware of increasing fragility and difficulty in performing daily tasks - but absolutely determined to continue living independently in his apartment for as long as possible, was persuaded to accept the support of carers supplied by Bluebird during the week (my brother and I alternated in visiting him at weekends). After devising a comprehensive care plan in consultation with him, the Lead Supervisor skillfully selected a small team who offered him discrete, considerate and cheerfully efficient assistance every weekday morning - establishing a regular routine, consistently arriving at the same time, spending an hour with him, kindly keeping him company and providing him with both practical and professional help. The daily records are eloquent of how their care successfully enabled him to achieve his ultimate objective of a dignified departure from his own place in his own time.
The standard of care provided was very high. We were confident that we would be contacted immediately if the carers noticed any changes in my mother-in-law's general health and they immediately contacted either the ambulance or the GP if there was any immediate cause for concern. It was very easy to contact the Care Supervisor by either phone and emails and any requests or problems were dealt with quickly and efficiently.
I have been informed by my father's landlady that my father relates to his care worker more than anyone and that is testament to the care worker's skills and abilities.
I feel reassured my father is getting the care that he needs to remain in his own home and you cannot put a price on peace of mind.
Bluebird cared for my father for the last four weeks of his life. He had terminal cancer and was bedridden. I contacted Bluebird and we sorted the care within 24 hours. The local manager arranged all the details - liaising with the Fast Track team, the district nurses regarding care and a hospital bed etc. It was fantastic as we could no longer care for him ourselves and we were worried we would have to admit him to a nursing home. It was our desire to keep him at home. The care was better than excellent. There is nothing that we could fault. Staff were punctual, courteous, respectful of my father and mother and cared for him superbly. There is nothing that we would like them to have done differently. It was a "good death" which is what we wanted. We were so grateful for their help and support and we would recommend them to anyone needing help. They were amazing!
Bluebird Care was the only agency who didn't turn us away and offered to visit to assess mum so that if they could accommodate us they would. After assessing we took slot they could offer, it turned out to be perfect. They looked after both mum and dad. They listened to our needs and directed us to the correct way of doing things. All carers were very good but when one was not compatible, we did not see her again. Mum's care was tailored to suit her daily needs. The main 2 carers were amazing, both very different in character and personality but equally kind, gentle and extremely compassionate and accommodating. They were very good at explaining and showing us what to do and guiding us every step of the way, arranged extra help when needed so that we didn't have to worry. They are 2nd to none and as a family, we can't sing their praises enough. We have no hesitation recommending them - they are AMAZING!! Thank you so much for allowing mum to live at home, surrounded by her family right to the end.
My husband needed care on his discharge from hospital following a stroke. He required help with his morning shower, but also needed to be encouraged to learn to do as much as possible himself. The carers from Bluebird Care provided this with consideration and patience. We got to know the different carers and were thoroughly impressed with the kindness and understanding.
Have used another agency before, they were late and did not care. Since using Bluebird, I must say I cannot fault this company. They are always on time, mum is taken care of to the highest standard. If I can't get home they have always helped with picking up last minute. I would recommend this company for anyone who needs good care.
We will be forever grateful for the girls from Bluebird and the way they blended into our home and showed genuine and rather lovely affection towards my Father-in-law as he went through the worst few weeks of his life. I have no hesitation in recommending them.
I was most grateful to the agency for getting someone to me at very short notice as I had broken both wrists and my daughter who came upended to get back home as she is a nurse. In the event we saw the live-in manager on Monday afternoon and the carer was here on Wednesday night.
I was extremely well cared for, with my daily shower, dressing, washing, ironing etc. The carer would walk with me to the shops and we usually took a taxi home. I was going to Bath to celebrate my niece's graduation and the carer came with me.
I heard a lot about her previous clients and got the impression that most were not normally independent with the result that she occasionally spoke out of turn although she would always attempt to explain any problem.
Without her care, I would have had to go into a local home for the month and I appreciate the fact that it is a difficult job to undertake, but one for which she was well qualified and I am grateful.
Although only used for a fortnight to cover the period immediately after leaving hospital, the service was first class. The carers were tireless in what they undertook and their relationship was excellent. I would recommend the service to others without hesitation.
I was very lucky to have Bluebird care for my husband during a very stressful time. The attitude and dedication of each carer was exemplary and their cheerful and positive outlook was much appreciated. Their training showed itself the way they conducted themselves and I can't speak too highly of each and everyone who cared for my husband. I could not have coped without them. Long may Bluebird continue to provide such wonderful support.
My mother needed care following hip surgery. The Bluebird team showed huge understanding and willingness to provide genuine care to suit all her needs. They were able to accommodate our requests and generally helped us through the care process. Highly recommended!
Bluebird South Oxfordshire have been caring (part-time) for my father who has dementia, over the past 7 months. I have found them to be flexible, reliable and caring. The staff in the office are a pleasure to deal with. I would not hesitate to recommend them to families in a similar situation.
Although the family only used Bluebird for 3 weeks, we found them especially helpful and compassionate as well as being thorough in assessing mum. They delivered their side of the contract efficiently and competently. First rate service.
We were impressed by the help we were given by the Bluebird service manager and her team when we were beginning to identify the need for mum to go into a care home even though supporting us in this meant they would lose a client. This demonstrated to us that they were motivated by the desire to ensure the right care for their clients not just their bottom line.
Dear David, thank-you for your kind words. We're very pleased that you and your family appreciated our service and we wish your mother the very best for the future.

Insisting his colleagues are trained beyond industry standard, each Care Assistant is encouraged to develop specialisms ranging from dementia and post-op rehabilitation to Parkinson’s, MND, complex care, challenging behaviour, palliative care and nutrition and hydration. “Our aim is to match each customer to their ideal Care Assistants by personality and expertise. Whilst our customers are at the centre of what we do, our Bluebirds are the heartbeat of the company - their kindness, compassion, and professionalism set us apart.”
As the owner of three Bluebird Care offices across London and the South West, Tim can’t imagine working in any other industry. “It’s an unbeatable feeling, being involved in a local business that changes lives. My father is now receiving live-in care which has been life-changing so I am passionate about providing this service to Richmond and Twickenham residents.”
Spotting the Richmond Park deer has become a favourite pastime of Tim’s young family, as has feeding the ducks on Barnes Pond.
I joined Bluebird Care back in April 2014 as a care assistant, mainly due to having a small child and being able to have flexible working hours. I quickly found supporting members of my local community and surrounding villages really rewarding and I realised that this was the industry that I wanted to build a career in. I went from Care Assistant to Support Supervisor, Supervisor to Live-in Care Manager, to where I am today, predominantly overseeing the safe running of the South, West and central Oxfordshire territory.
As well as having transferrable skills from my earlier roles, I also hold an NVQ level 5 in Care Management and look forward to developing my knowledge further in other areas of the business. I have always felt Bluebird is the perfect fit for me due to the shared ethos of person-centred care, promoting independence and going the extra mile to make a difference in someone's life whilst remaining in their own home. I feel extremely privileged to help lead a team, that provides great quality care to Oxfordshire's vulnerable adults.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my two children, walking and swimming.
