From the initial point of contact Bluebird Care has been exceptional, they are efficient and communicate with clarity in all matters. The assessment and the care package was established promptly. Supportive from the onset and management skills, communication and professional help has been invaluable.
The carers are empathetic, friendly and always arrive with a smile. They are varied which makes it interesting as they bring different energies and chatter throughout the day which is important when you are unable to go out with ease. They are all wonderful in their own unique way but some are real assets to the company.
The fact that Bluebird Care also dedicate time into fundraising for charity shows their thoughtful approach to others, wonderful.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. The manager and her team will be pleased to receive it. We are so privileged to have such a wonderful team and we're glad that you and your friend had such a positive experience. Thanks again for taking the time to share it with us.
My aunt has had Bluebird domiciliary care twice a day for over a year and we have been very pleased with the service. In September, my aunt had a fall, fortunately not too serious, however, she was left with significantly reduced mobility and we realised that she would need more care for a while. I helped my aunt research alternatives. Our first thought was Bluebird live-in care, but we looked at other services to compare them. In the end, we decided that the advantages of staying with Bluebird were clear: We knew how carefully Bluebird chooses and trains their staff, the OpenPass electronic system makes it easy to follow the carers' reports and the transition to live-in care seemed easy. Also, as my aunt recovers, we expect a smooth transition back to domiciliary care. It's now three weeks since the live-in carer arrived and after an easy transition, things are going very well. The carer was matched well to my aunt, who enjoys the company and the family knows she is in good hands.
Thank you for the feedback. It makes such a difference to everyone in the team to hear their hard work is well received because our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We’re so pleased your aunt transitioned easily from hourly to live-in care and of course, we look forward to welcoming...
After my father's death in January 2018, my mother (who was then 91) struggled at home due to progressive Alzheimer's and deteriorating mobility. Bluebird Care initially provided a daily tea-time visit which was extremely helpful and reassuring as I lived 90 miles away. When Mum's condition deteriorated we arranged a full-time live-in carer in November 2018 from Bluebird Care. This arrangement continued until Mum died peacefully at home in August 2020. Over this time there were only two live-in carers, both of whom were superb. They were compassionate, cheerful, sensible and excellent at maintaining Mum's dignity. They were ably supported by the excellent Bluebird Live-in Care Manager, and between them often made sensible suggestions about how Mum's quality of life could be improved e.g.by purchasing simple items that would aid her. Overall, my mother had excellent care throughout.
Thank you Martin for this lovely review, it is very much appreciated. It's lovely to hear from a family that Bluebird was able to be a big support in your mother's final years. I know I speak on behalf of both carers that lived with her when I say it was a privilege and a pleasure to have known her...
Initially Mum just needed a weekly visit, which became four visits a week, which became twice daily visits. Some help with shopping, companionship, light household duties - but most importantly, a friendly and sympathetic visit each and every time, from Bluebird staff that genuinely always had her best interests at heart. Loved the app - to follow the visits virtually, and to offer reassurance that Mum was being fully supported. It's now time for more permanent full-time care and I would like to thank the Bluebird team for always being so flexible and accommodating, throughout our two-year connection.
Thank you for the review and the lovely comments regarding your mums care. It was a pleasure to provide care for your mum, and we wish her all the best with full-time care.
We needed to provide daily domiciliary care (that quickly morphed into live-in care) for our father, who has various health challenges and our mother, who had just had a stroke. From the very first call, we were reassured that Bluebird was the right partner to provide care to our parents. We spoke directly to a Bluebird person who listened to our requirements and presented a well-considered care plan. To start with, Bluebird provided regular domiciliary visits to Dad that got him up and dressed in the morning, ensured he was fed, had taken his meds and even took him out in his wheelchair. The service then needed to become a live-in carer and a wonderful carer was sourced for us. Dad absolutely loved the carer and they and we got on really well. Sadly mum passed away, but we kept the live-in carer just for Dad. We can't speak highly enough about Bluebird or the live-in carer provided for Mum and Dad. Highly recommended.
Dear Nick, thank-you for your kind words. We wish your father and your family all the very best. Take good care, Bluebird Care (West Oxfordshire).
However disorientated Mum was, due to dementia, or weak and stiff due to Parkinson's, they made the start to her day, and mine, better. The administration was thorough and professional, and I would have no hesitation at all in recommending their services.
My husband received excellent service in every way from Bluebird and the carers were caring and first class.
I have been impressed and touched in equal measure by the kindness and professionalism shown to my mother by the Bluebird team. She was a very reluctant client and had the team not been so good-humoured, so sensitive to her needs and so 'human' in their response to her, she would never have agreed to accept care. As it was, 'Bluebird' became a source of great comfort for her and peace of mind for me. I cannot thank each and every one of them enough.
The staff are friendly and try to help in every way they can. They never make you feel bad about your illness and needing help.
Bluebird Care has been looking after an elderly lady for whom I have a Power of Attorney (financial and property) for twenty-one months, during which time their care and attention for her has always been of the highest standard. The individual carers are second to none in their field. Their humanity deserves the highest praise and admiration. Members of the office staff, back at base, cannot be faulted. They make everything run so smoothly and any enquiries are dealt with most efficiently. A big thank you to Bluebird Care.
It takes a great character to help people to take care of themselves and I can say that Bluebird has this attitude in abundance. I never expected to need a carer at my age; it was of great concern to me that I would feel demoralised in having someone coming into my home to help me. From the start, those feelings were diminished. I felt at ease and comfortable with staff who came to discuss my needs and expectations, this sentiment continued with all the carers that have been allocated to me. I found everyone has been extremely genuine, approachable and just perfect for their jobs. Carers all seem to have an aptitude for their role and the ability to make me feel that nothing is too much trouble. I find it a pleasure to have Bluebird come to my home. I feel all the carers give outstandingly compassionate care, which is in no way judgemental or condescending. My care has always been consistent, I believe all carers are an enormous credit to Bluebird. I would recommend Bluebird care to anyone.
Bluebird were engaged to look after my late mother's nursing requirements from March until late December 2018. This entailed 2 visits to her home each day, early am and late pm. From the start, we found the level of care to be excellent. All the carers were very professional and diligent and in many cases, they formed a firm friendship with my mother. She looked forward to them calling in each day, not only for her nursing needs but also for companionship as she lived alone.
All my dealings with them and the supervisors were cordial and friendly and they kept me informed if any concerns arose regarding my mother's health and wellbeing. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company for the excellent care provided.
They all attended my mother's funeral which was not part of their job but that's how lovely and caring they all were.
The carers were superb, sensitive, professional, friendly, committed and reliable. The whole family have nothing but praise for Bluebird Care and we would recommend them to anyone. Thank you so much.
Without exception, all the carers were pleasant, well trained and cheerful at all times. Anxious to do as much for us as possible in the time available. In short, we have no complaints and would not hesitate to use their services again if necessary.
Bluebird carers have been working with my father, now 92, for a couple of years, allowing him to remain living alone in his home of over 50 years standing. They have been very sympathetic and adaptable, since my father does not readily accept that he needs care, and will try to refuse help when he, in fact, needs it.
The carers have managed the difficult balance of tactful intervention whilst giving him his own space, and have built genuinely respectful and friendly relationships with him. I have found the supervisors very helpful in giving advice and suggestions as we have gradually increased my fathers care, and we are now considering live in care.
Carers are able to help with getting him to the dentist etc and work well with family members in managing Dad's agenda and sharing care duties when needed. Bluebird carers have a genuine interest in their work I have been impressed by their detailed and honest daily log keeping which really helps us all to assess Dad's evolving care needs.
Bluebird cared for my father (aged 89) from June to November 2017, until his condition deteriorated. He is now, only temporarily we hope, in a care home. Bluebird's exemplary care enabled him to stay in his own home for several months longer than he otherwise could have done. If he can go home again, as we hope, we will certainly re-engage Bluebird.
Bluebird carers were all very kind and well-disposed towards my father. He speaks very well of them all. They took great care to cook his chosen meals. They clearly take a real pride in all their work.
They arrived punctually, left everywhere immaculate, and prepared written reports for each session.
A real bond formed between my father and the team members. They clearly took a personal interest in him. My father liked them.
Bluebird's care was extremely well, supervised by the management team. She has been a tremendous support, with her "can do" attitude.
Bluebird's service has been outstanding.
My mother could never have remained in her own home without the help of Bluebird Care (Oxford, South & West Oxfordshire). The carers were sensitive to her needs and supportive but never 'taking over'. They were good natured and carried out their (not always pleasant) tasks with good humour. I visited/stayed with my mother 2/3 nights per fortnight and therefore regularly saw the carers at work. Very good.
The staff at Bluebird over the past year have treated my father with dignity, compassion and professionalism. In turn they have supported me in the worst of times and have laughed with me at the best of times. They have become friends, confidants and literally a shoulder to cry on.
I would highly recommend the staff at Bluebird as they have shown dedication, care and empathy in what is a very challenging profession.
Bluebird is a really great service. My family felt comforted and safe when they helped to care for Dad at home. They go the extra mile. The lead supervisor and her team know exactly what is needed to care for people and, more than that, they make it feel very personal and tailormade.
But crucially, the lead supervisor also knows 'the system' and how it works. This makes life so much easier for families who have enough to worry about without having to research, and then navigate, the services they hoped they would never need. Thank you for everything.

Insisting his colleagues are trained beyond industry standard, each Care Assistant is encouraged to develop specialisms ranging from dementia and post-op rehabilitation to Parkinson’s, MND, complex care, challenging behaviour, palliative care and nutrition and hydration. “Our aim is to match each customer to their ideal Care Assistants by personality and expertise. Whilst our customers are at the centre of what we do, our Bluebirds are the heartbeat of the company - their kindness, compassion, and professionalism set us apart.”
As the owner of three Bluebird Care offices across London and the South West, Tim can’t imagine working in any other industry. “It’s an unbeatable feeling, being involved in a local business that changes lives. My father is now receiving live-in care which has been life-changing so I am passionate about providing this service to Richmond and Twickenham residents.”
Spotting the Richmond Park deer has become a favourite pastime of Tim’s young family, as has feeding the ducks on Barnes Pond.
I joined Bluebird Care back in April 2014 as a care assistant, mainly due to having a small child and being able to have flexible working hours. I quickly found supporting members of my local community and surrounding villages really rewarding and I realised that this was the industry that I wanted to build a career in. I went from Care Assistant to Support Supervisor, Supervisor to Live-in Care Manager, to where I am today, predominantly overseeing the safe running of the South, West and central Oxfordshire territory.
As well as having transferrable skills from my earlier roles, I also hold an NVQ level 5 in Care Management and look forward to developing my knowledge further in other areas of the business. I have always felt Bluebird is the perfect fit for me due to the shared ethos of person-centred care, promoting independence and going the extra mile to make a difference in someone's life whilst remaining in their own home. I feel extremely privileged to help lead a team, that provides great quality care to Oxfordshire's vulnerable adults.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my two children, walking and swimming.
