Excellent care provider; friendly, helpful staff and management. My mum is very happy to be a client of Bluebird and their service provides me with reassurance that my mum's needs are being met. On the occasions that I have needed to speak to the manager, she has always been 100% helpful and gone out of her way to best incorporate whatever the request has been. My father died recently and our Bluebird carers (2 in particular) couldn't have done more to comfort and care for my mother. She is disabled and not able to walk so rarely leaves the flat where she lives. Their care and support mean everything to her during this difficult time. As well as the carers who are wonderful I'd also like to make a shout out to their manager who is always available to help and to help solve problems where she can.

I find all aspects of my care very adequate. The staff and management are very accommodating. A little more flexibility in some areas would be appreciated e.g letter posting. I find both staff and management obliging and flexible within the agreed terms.

Completely satisfied with the majority of carers. Obviously newly trained take time to settle in. Mostly all arrive at the time scheduled. Have requested extra care at times and management have been helpful in this respect.

The staff have arrived punctually, provided personal care, cooked for her, managed the kitchen and left the house tidy. Meanwhile, they have carried out a host of other jobs, all within a limited time slot. But it is the dignity with which they’ve treated our mother that has made the difference, regarding her as an individual and adapting to her ways. As a result she, in turn, has regarded many of her carers as her friends, developing mutual respect.
We have found it very easy to communicate with Bluebird. In recent weeks, her medicines and care regime have needed regular review at a time of failing strength. Bluebird themselves have often suggested ways to work around the challenges, with the result that our mother has been able to stay at home as long as possible.
We rate Bluebird very highly.
My father currently receives care from Bluebird. I can confidentially state that he is in good hands. They have displayed care, patience and compassion with him over the last few months. His health has recently deteriorated, however, they continue to display a professional manner and deliver a high standard of care. They have continued to encourage him to eat and drink and on the occasions when he has been unwell, have taken the timely and appropriate action to call medical assistance. There have been occasions when the carers have gone over and above what is expected and I truly believe that they have my fathers wellbeing at heart.
I would not hesitate in recommending Bluebird Care to anyone needing home care.

The carers are very friendly and diligent in their duties, and any issues that occur are dealt with very quickly by the manager, communicated to the team, and solutions quickly put in place.
The admin team keep us up to date with any changes to the schedule and are happy to help with any changes required.
When we have needed additional hours for Dad’s care the team have been very accommodating in putting this in place quickly.
We would not hesitate to recommend the service.

Bluebird Care Northumberland South is led by Wah Akram. Wah started delivering homecare in Northumberland South to help support customers in the area to receive homecare and support while remaining in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Delivering the highest quality of homecare and support is Wah’s absolute goal and the team would be delighted to hear from anyone who is seeking homecare for themselves or for a loved one, or would simply like to talk to someone about the services we provide.
I have lived and worked in the area all my life, gaining almost 20 years experience at all levels of customer care.
I decided to move into the care sector as I want to make a real difference to the lives of the people living in the community. Bluebird Care was the obvious choice for my business as I believe passionately in our mantra ‘a good old fashioned service'. When considering a care provider for my own loved ones, I would expect nothing short of the level of care which I would provide myself. Here at Bluebird Care we aim to deliver exactly that.
So how do I plan to ensure this? In the first instance by only recruiting carers and office staff who share the same ethos as Bluebird Care, and then providing excellent training and support. Staff retention, enabling continuity of care, is key for any care provider. This can only be achieved by a team, working in an excellent environment, where every member is encouraged to continually strive to be the very best at what they do.
I also bring with me a great deal of experience in the support, encouragement and management of a team. The training and development of all of our staff is very important to us and I will endeavour to encourage the team to be continuously looking for ways in which they can develop their expertise.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and grandchildren.
I started caring from a young age for my grandparents, and I knew it was something I’d like to do as a career. I started my caring career when I was 18 working as a care worker out in the community. After a few years, I decided I would like to be based in the office. Since starting at Bluebird it has been a real challenge going from a carer to a care coordinator, but it was one of the best decisions I have made.
Outside of work, I spend my time with my son and family.
I started employment at Bluebird Care wanting a change in careers from my previous employment, the opportunity to work in an office and expand my knowledge in finance and administrational tasks was something that interested me.
From my time at Bluebird Care, I have completed Levels 2 & 3 in Business Administration. I would say I have a good connection with all staff and customers as I am often the first point of contact for anyone wanting to contact or visit the office.
I have also picked up a lot of different responsibilities from my time at Bluebird Care, this includes Invoicing, Payroll, Recruitment & keeping on top of our Social Media accounts and many more responsibilities.
Outside of work I like to socialise with my friends & family, I also like to watch & play football as much as possible.
