Carers very helpful - necessary to have same carers to build confidence.
A member of my family originally found out about Home Instead by searching the internet. I have been using their services for just over a year.
I had a heavy fall some years ago on my right side. The consultant said that my hips was so strong that it had pushed the bone into my pelvis. This resulted in a limp, and last year in addition the discs in my spine collapsed through wear and tear. This has left me with a stoop, and not as mobile as I used to be!
A carer visits me once a day at 8.00am every morning for one hour. She assists me with a shower and dressing, and prepares breakfast and a salad lunch. As I have some arthritis, she also opens any containers and does some occasional light cleaning, including vacuuming. It is also pleasant to have a little chat about common interests.
I find these visits help me to start my day in a positive way, and I look forward to the next morning. I also appreciate the regular contact by Home Instead central office to confirm that my needs are sill being met, and advance monthly notification of names of my visitors.
My family appreciate the reassurance that I receive this regular assistance with my morning needs each day. I can manage fine in the evenings, and various family members visit quite often when they are free to do so.
The carers for my mum are excellent. They treat her with respect and good humour. Any problems are notified to me immediately and the team try their hardest to assist mum in any way they can. I cannot fault her two main carers, they are always punctual, stop for the full hour and give Mum their attention. They try to improve her mood each day with fun and humour. They also take her for walks or shopping to get her moving when they can. I am extremely pleased with the service given us.
From my very first encounter with Home Instead I felt confident that the staff understood the challenges of caring for aged parents with mental health needs/ physical needs and dementia. Everything seems to have been thought about. A highly personal approach has been offered and every time I need to contact Home Instead I find them sympathetic and accommodating. I cannot recommend them highly enough, indeed I have signposted some of my patients, (I'm a GP) to Home Instead as I am so impressed with their personal, thorough approach and high standard of care.
Very satisfactory, my carers are kind, considerate and caring and willing to do things beyond the call of duty.
Home Instead Senior Care have been a life saver to us. Their care has been first class. Both parents have cancer and my mother has dementia, 6 months ago we were really struggling. Home Instead Senior Care have got us back on track and both parents are doing well. We have the continuity of 2/3 different carers but mostly they see the same face everyday. Their support has been first class. I would recommend them to anyone. Trustworthy, kind, caring, fun and professional are a few words to describe our carer.
Always the same carers at the same time and on time. Planned for up to once month ahead, emergency covering needed. Since I changed to Home Instead a year ago, I have not heard a bad word from the carers about the company or the job. I face my declining years confidently and happily with excellent care despite all my family being 50 miles away.
My father who was widowed in April this year has dementia, so we had to make sure the care provider the family chose was the right one to enable him to remain in his own home with an appropriate level of independence. With Home Instead Senior care we have definitely made the right choice. The carers are excellent and have provided a caring efficient reliable service to exceptionally high standards which is essential for someone with dementia needing consistency and familiarity. They definitely "go the extra mile" and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Home Instead are client focussed, delivering a high quality service. The support to clients and families is excellent. We would recommend this organisation to those seeking care for their elderly family members.

Meet the Team (1)

We are delighted that Nikki is the Registered Manager for our service in Stratford on Avon.
With over 20 years of care experience, she started her career in care at the age of 16, working in a care home looking after the elderly, whilst also studying at college to gain her Health and Social Care qualifications
Nikki is now a very experienced Care Manager, having worked in a range of different care settings from private and public hospitals, care homes, home care and including 18 years working with Mencap supporting people with Learning Disabilities.
A huge advocate of elderly care at home, Nikki fully understands the benefits of physical and mental wellbeing of both her clients and her support team and she truly believes in the right for everyone to be able to live safely, with respect and dignity in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by the things they know and love.
Nikki loves getting to know our customers and their families, as they are all unique. She also understands the benefits of listening to their life stories, and hearing about their interests and wider families; as this enables her team to really know the people they are caring for and make each visit count and make them happy.
Outside of work, Niki has two children, two dogs – one of which weighs more than her two children and enjoys getting out in the countryside for a family walk.
