We did not really get to know the staff for the short time we had carers. It did seem to be expensive but maybe all care companies are the same.

The company is very good, I have never had care before. The carers are smart and polite and treat you nicely. They take a lot of care to help me with health issues which I get very worried about. I'm scared each day as I get a lot of pain as I try to do things I should not.

Very thorough communication with clients before choosing the right care partner. Caregiver all very kind and compassionate to the needs of the clients ensuring the client maintained their independence where possible. Very respectful approach towards the clients.

When my husband was discharged from hospital I had to find homecare very quickly. Luckily, Right at Home Swindon were able to find staff -my husband needed two people morning and evening, as he was confined to bed 24/7. From the very first day they provided first class care, treating my husband with dignity and friendship, telling him everything they were doing.
Nothing was too much trouble, they were always cheerful and on time, never intrusive, they made both our lives more bearable until my husband passed away. They made homecare what it should be.

My father has stated that he feels Right at Home deliver a high standard of care as his previous carers did not work to the quality of Right at Home. He is contacted regularly from the registered manager to check he is happy with his carers. As my dad is terminal if he is or has had a bad time, they will listen and communicate to discuss how he feels. They provide all of his care in a person-centred way making sure that he is fully included in his care. Very impressed and excellent care.

I am married to my lovely wife, Sue, and have four children to keep to me busy. After many years working as an accountant in a variety of organisations including EMI, TNT and BBC Worldwide I am delighted to be moving into the world of home care. Whilst I am proud of what I have achieved in the past, my role as a Right at Home franchise owner is taking me into a whole new world where I can help to improve the quality of life for others. Customer service has always been central to my work ethic and so it is an added bonus that I can put this to good use in such a person centred way. It is also a joy to be working with the bigger team at Right at Home who demonstrate their kindness and passion for care every day. To compliment my work I have become a dementia friend and now a dementia champion. I was amazed to discover how much can be done to improve the quality of life for those with dementia so long as you have the right knowledge. Our company values are based firmly on person centred care and everyone here at Right at Home Swindon is utterly devoted to maintaining those values. I have a great husband Rob who I met while serving in the WRAC (Army) and we have been married for 31yrs, Rob needs a medal. We have a daughter and Son in law and our first grandchild who is almost 6 months old time flies. I believe that life skills make me the person I am. Before coming into care I worked as a driving Instructor for many years, priding myself on good communication with my customers. As I turned 40 I decided to complete a degree in Psychology and this was my turning point into care.

My care experience has been as a community care officer then Adult Placement before progressing up the ladder as Team Manager then Service Manager before reaching Senior Service Manager then Area Manager working with customers that have Learning Disabilities, Mental Health issues, challenging behaviour and community homecare. I have experience of working for both public and private sector organisations.

I believe passionately in person centred care and have worked closely with CQC and Multi-Disciplinary Teams promoting customer choice and independence. I value working closely with their support network to make sure the best possible and relevant care is given. As a daughter myself I always make sure my close family are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve and take that philosophy into care. I like to look “outside the box” to find better ways to support my customers and ensure they feel they are being listened to.

The reason I applied for the Registered Manager position at Right at Home is that the company values are based firmly on person centered care and everyone here at Right at Home Swindon is utterly devoted to maintaining those values. We are very down to earth and always willing to listen.
