After many years working as an accountant in a variety of organisations including EMI, TNT and BBC Worldwide I am delighted to be moving into the world of home care. Whilst I am proud of what I have achieved in the past, my role as a Right at Home franchise owner is taking me into a whole new world where I can help to improve the quality of life for others.
Customer service has always been central to my work ethic and so it is a bonus that I can put this to good use in such a person-centred way. It is also a joy to be working with the bigger team at Right at Home who demonstrate their kindness and passion for care every day. To compliment my work I have become a dementia friend and now a dementia champion. I was amazed to discover how much can be done to improve the quality of life for those with dementia so long as you have the right knowledge.

I started Right at Home in March 2024. I worked as a caregiver from March 2024 until June 2025, when I had the opportunity to join the office team as Training and Recruitment Coordinator
In my spare time, I spend quality time with my husband, little girl and 2 dogs.
My role is to recruit new carers, set standards and give them the knowledge and confidence to provide good quality care to our clients.
What do you look for in a CareGiver to ensure they deliver safe, high-quality care?
A friendly, approachable person who shows a positive attitude. Someone who is compassionate and empathetic. Someone who shows a willingness to learn.
How does training prepare CareGivers for real-life situations?
We offer hands-on training. I have worked my way up from being a carer, so give real-life scenarios for the trainee.
How do you tailor training to meet different learning styles or needs?
Plan a range of lessons and different teaching techniques, as not all trainees will learn the same way.
How do you promote a caring and values-based culture from day one?
Clarify and inform new carers of Right at Home values and core expectations. We do our in-house training, and then new carers will do shadowing with long-serving carers at the beginning of their journey with us.
Frequently send out feedback forms to our carers to ensure they are happy within their jobs and to highlight any areas we can work on.

I joined Right at Home Swindon in 2025 after graduating in 2024, and I’m proud to be part of a team that makes such a meaningful difference in people’s lives. My role focuses on sharing the incredible work our CareGivers do every day and helping local families understand the high-quality care we provide. Marketing in the care sector is all about building trust, raising awareness, and showing the heart behind what we do.
Outside of work, I love staying active at the gym, travelling to new places, and going to music festivals and concerts.
How do you make sure our messaging reflects the quality and heart of our care?
I always aim to make our content feel genuine and reflective of the care we give. It’s not just about promoting services, it’s about sharing the stories and moments that show the compassion and connection between our CareGivers and clients. I take the time to listen to what’s really happening on the ground, then bring that to life through our messaging.
How do you highlight the voice of our clients and team in your work?
For me, the best way to show who we are is through the words of the people who experience it every day. I regularly gather feedback, quotes and stories from both clients and CareGivers. Their voices help others see the human side of what we do, and just how much care and thought go into every visit.
What role does marketing play in building trust with families?
Marketing is often the first time someone comes across Right at Home, so it’s important that what they see is warm, clear and honest. I focus on building trust by showing who we are, how we work, and the values that guide us. Whether it's sharing our CQC rating or introducing our team, it's all about helping families feel confident in choosing us.
How do you help promote openness, transparency and values-led care?
Everything I put out is grounded in our values. I make sure our communication is open, easy to understand, and reflects what really matters to us. Whether it’s a social media post or an email campaign, I keep things down-to-earth and authentic, so people feel they’re getting a true sense of who we are and what we stand for.
