I contacted Home Instead in January 2020, as my elderly mother was needing more care than my sister and myself could give. Within 2 weeks, everything was up and running. Everyone I speak to, in the office or the caregivers themselves are amazing. They are so helpful, and if I phone with any queries, eg mum's medication, it is sorted immediately. The caregivers go in twice a day and because of "Covid 19" they have been an absolute godsend. I really don't know how we would have managed without them. Also, it has been good for mum, as she hasn't been able to see her friends and extended family these last few months, but these lovely ladies call every day, and they have become friends. Thank you so much everyone.
My father and I decided to engage the services of Home Instead to help care for my mother after he had a brief stay in hospital. My mother is unable to walk and has difficulties communicating. We were very impressed by how quickly arrangements were made and have been equally impressed by the quality and reliability of the care my mother has received. As the minimum time for a carer's visit is for an hour, not only do they help my mother with her morning routine, they also help out with other things such as getting breakfast for my parents, thereby making things much easier for everyone. I can now go to work without worry, knowing that my mother is in good hands and that my father can have a much more relaxed start to his day. Charges are very reasonable and every care is taken to provide excellent service.
Professional and reliable service, tailored to each individual client's physical and emotional needs. I’m extremely happy that my mother can remain in her own home with her dog (who is also cared for as part of the care) instead of going into residential accommodation especially in the light of the current issues with Covid 19. Lovely carers who also live locally.
This service has been a lifeline for my dad. It has made such a difference to his life and took a huge pressure away from family members. Staff are committed, caring and go above and beyond.
No job is beyond them snd they are always helpful and kind in their approach.
Good timekeepers and have an excellent level of communication with the office and management.
Overall, very pleased - keep up the good work.
Our regular carer left, but we have been very pleased with the replacement carers. They are both kind and cheerful, which is especially important at the moment. They understand my mother’s needs, and will help with light housework, meal preparation or simply provide companionship. Their support makes a massive difference to the mental well-being of my mother and stimulates her interest in what is going on in the wider community.
My mother's carer was a very highly experienced, retired, nursing sister, who cared for my mother with absolute kindness and respect. My mother is a very independent and usually physically outgoing person despite her age and physical limitations. Her need to retain dignity and independence continued and was supported absolutely by the carer. I trust in the organisation's ethos and practice.
We found the staff of the agency very caring.
The entire set up has been extremely professional, with the organiser taking great care to understand my mother’s needs and to allocate the most suitable carer. We have been so relieved and pleased at how well it is working that we have requested to extend what was intended as respite care into a more permanent arrangement. All queries have been dealt with quickly and helpfully. We all feel as if Mum’s welfare and happiness really matter to the carer and the agency. I would recommend Home Instead to anyone looking for personal bespoke care.
We all as a family have found Home Instead to be excellent and very supportive in all areas and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
As her health deteriorated, the carers increased the personal care. They were always friendly and helpful, often going that 'extra mile' which makes a difference.
Cannot speak too highly of the service we have received.
I made initial contact on advice from a health professional. I visited the office to arrange the care for my wife and found the administrative staff to be friendly, very helpful and obviously expert in dealing with my needs. The assessment visit was conducted with kindness and courtesy towards myself and my wife. The subsequent care visits have been made by friendly, caring and highly competent staff. The organisation is highly recommended
We have used the services of Home Instead for the last three months or so for the care of my mother, and have been entirely satisfied with the service provided. It has been excellent in every way. We have been especially impressed by the way my mother has accepted the care, as she has never happily accepted anyone coming into her home apart from a family member and could be very difficult. The carers coming in treat her with great respect and apart from the care they give her, also give her the companionship I was wanting for her, a change from the daily routine of just myself visiting her, which gives her a different sort of conversation and interaction. It also gives me a degree of respite which I've been in great need of. All in all, I couldn't fault the service.
The Home Instead team are very professional, courteous and genuinely focused on the welfare of my great aunt. They are very pragmatic and offer common sense solutions to any care issues related to my aunt that have come up. The Home Instead carer quickly and effectively overcame my aunt's initial reticence to having a "stranger" in her house 4 days a week. My aunt has bonded well with her carers.
My father is very happy with the caregiver that visits him, they have formed a good relationship and she has made a difference to his well being. She has helped him through a difficult period. With the support of Home Instead we were able to get my father home from hospital quicker which he wanted.
They visited us beforehand, struck up a rapport and discussed our requirements, I went away feeling confident that they would take care of my husband of 47 years, and that they did.
We had a few hiccups the first week, he was stubborn and refusing care, ended up in A&E. I was kept informed whilst in Spain, they had to 'double up' the carers but throughout the two weeks, they provided an excellent service. Keeping an accurate log of activities and expenditure and I was very impressed with their professional yet sensitive attitude.
I rarely make comments like this, however, my recent experience makes me break my rules. I had Home Instead Senior Care Wrexham and Flintshire East for my Mother who had an emergency when I was out of the country. I rang Home Instead who responded with a personal visit to my Mother within 5 minutes. No ifs no buts, no questions or delays, they just realised it was a small but important task to resolve immediately, which they did. This was a great relief when I was far away, and delightful good customer service.
The interview went very well, I put forward some suggestion of what I thought should happen they were all listened to and noted to be attended in future. All in all a satisfactory meeting between Home Instead Senior Care and myself and my wife and sister.
I've used this service for about 6 months. An initial assessment was made to ascertain my needs and to match my personality with an appropriate carer. The carer visits twice a week to help me shower. This is always the same person except for holiday periods or to cover for illness (though this hasn't occurred yet) and I know in advance if it is not the usual carer. Carers arrive promptly. The carers are always cheerful and efficient, they treat me as I would wish. On occasions when my daughter has been away they have also made social visits - a cup of tea and a chat - so that I am not alone for the whole time.
I am very satisfied. The two people who come regularly are good workers. They are pleasant and helpful. Its nice to know I have somebody coming to do jobs I am unable to do. It makes me feel better.
