Overall, the standard of service was very good. My reason for moving was to get 24hour care. The company would always let me know if carers were likely to be late for the call. All members of the team were very friendly and did a good job with personal care.

My husband started having care from Right at Home (Solent) in January 2017. It was just meant to be a temporary arrangement for a few weeks as I had a small operation and would be out of action myself to look after him.
I was very reluctant to allow somebody into my home and do the job that I had done for several years. But I needn't have worried because the care that he has received from all his carers has been second to none.
They are so kind and considerate, completely trustworthy and they work in a very professional manner and respect my husband's dignity at all times.
Due to my husband's ongoing condition and frailty, we found we couldn't manage without our lovely carers, who have also become friends. Needless to say, we are still Right at Home (Solent). Thank you all.

I have been very pleased with every aspect of the service we've received from Right at Home.
My mother has dementia, and she is increasingly unable to look after herself in her sheltered housing flat. I knew that we would need to look at getting carers in each day. Right from the first contact, Right at Home have been both friendly and professional. They came to see my mother to assess her needs and see which carers would be most suitable for her. They also supported the carer at the first visit, allowing them to get to know my mother while I dealt with the necessary paperwork.
My mother's care started 2 months ago and both her carers have been brilliant. She calls them her friends and looks forward to their visits. We always know who's coming and when and they let me know any changes or concerns. Both have been flexible in what they've done to help her, from creaming her feet, to changing the bed, or just sitting having a chat if that's what Mum needs.

Due to mum having osteoporosis I found myself becoming her carer. Gradually Mum needed more help until last year she got confused and forgetful. Myself having a young family found it hard to give mum the help and support that she needed and so I contacted Right at Home and found our meeting with the manager very positive!

Last September mum started receiving two visits a day. I was worried and reluctant to seek help, I need not have worried as the carers were lovely. Mum loved the conversations and much laughter that different carers would have with her, it definitely brightened her day (Mum loved a laugh and a chat).

Right at home were fantastic in keeping me informed, i would visit mum most days but if a carer was concerned about mum then i would receive a phone call from the office to let me know.

Unfortunately mum passed away in March but Right at Home made a big impression on us, I would recommend them highly, they became friends and made life so much happier and easier.

Have been a client for more than one year. I have found the carers to be most helpful and doing things beyond the call of duty. Very friendly and interested in my hobbies. I feel very safe when my carers are here, and they feel safe too now that my cat no longer attacks them!

I got married in December 2016 and I was very concerned my Parents wouldn't be able to offer my Grandmother the level of care required whilst trying to host our wedding day for us. Right at Home (Solent) provided a fabulous Carer for my Grandmother, whom she had built a relationship with in the preceding months, which enabled my Parents and Grandmother to enjoy our special day without worry. I don't believe it would have been possible for my Grandmother to attend our wedding without the care and assistance provided by Right at Home (Solent), they thoroughly went above and beyond.

In the current climate of caregiver shortage in this area, Right at Home - Solent kindly managed their demands to accommodate my mother's needs in her last few days. The caregivers were all extremely friendly and had a lovely approach to mum, spending around 45 minutes each visit. They dealt with all the necessities without bother and happily washed mum's hair in bed, using an inflatable basin that I'd found on-line for £14 - apparently, she was able to communicate clearly that she loved a bit of pampering. The management is exemplary, from the initial phone chat to the needs assessment, through to monitoring and personal involvement in providing care. I would say they're life savers, but that would be stretching the truth as mum passed away. But I can state with full sincerity that Right at Home - Solent made my mother's last few days as comfortable as was possible. My family's thanks go to the whole team. Costs were covered by the NHS Continuing Health Care Scheme.

Just a quick note to thank the managers as well as all their carers for the professional but loving care they have provided for my mother-in-law.
They have seen us through a bumpy ride, (it isn't over) and have shown us nothing but patience, and a thorough understanding of the emotional and difficult choices we have had to make and have specifically asked to continue to do so even if her respite stay turns into permanent accommodation.
The quality of care is beyond excellent and their willingness to listen to us as we sort through problems and offer professional, caring advice has been a godsend. They have put hers and our welfare at the top of their list, not just physically but emotionally, the well-being of the client and their family is their whole philosophy. Without them, I am not sure any of us would have survived with even a small smile on our face. Thank you.

Right at Home Solent

In a world where people are so quick to chide, but slow to praise; I am delighted to say that I think that “Right At Home Solent” are a credit to their company name.

In January, I was in the Isle of Man and my mother was taken ill in Fareham. I only had Google to help me but, fortunately, I rang their number and there are no words to describe how absolutely marvellous they have been, since that very first call.

I do not think that there could possibly be better Care Providers (anywhere)

I shall remain indebted to them, forever, as I know that, without them, I would not have my beloved Mother living with me now.

I, impartially, commend Right at Home Solent to anybody and can assure them that it is a decision that they will never regret!

The manager and his team gave us a one off care package for Dad when he came out of hospital, his staff are very professional and supportive. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company or using their services in the future. Dad was able to meet the manager and the staff that were going to look after him beforehand and get to know them, so he felt at ease when they came to take care of him.
Detailed information was gathered beforehand about Dad and the hospital procedure, so we were totally happy that Dad would be well cared for and it took a weight off our minds. I had contacted a few other organisations, before Right at Home, and after meeting the manager and his team, I knew we had made the right decision. This company is very professional and very thorough and caring in the services they offer.

I cannot recommend the services of Right at Home enough.On their initial visit to meet my Aunt and Uncle they were professional & thorough. We were very impressed with the service they promised & decided immediately that they were the right company.

The care they provide has exceeded our expectations. The carers are punctual & always work for the time that we pay. They are well trained, professional & very kind. My Aunt and Uncle were worried about having people coming into their home but within a few days looked forward to each visit.

The Managing Director and the Care Manager are very professional & were happy to provide their mobile numbers so that we could immediately contact them if necessary. They always ring or text if anything is required or if the carers are concerned. Recently when my Uncle was hospitalised they arranged 24 hour care for my Aunt within a few hours.

The service is impressive and they actually do care about the people they look after.

My husband had care at home from this company for six months before he died and during that time the care, compassion and support, that both he and I received was excellent. He had previously spent a year in a nursing home and, although the care was satisfactory, there was no comparison with the level of personal care and attention he received from Right at Home (Solent).

My wife Margaret was in a care home she was weight bearing with a stand aid. The council could not get a care plan for her, this was just before Christmas 2015 we had hospital bed and stand aid at home all ready. Then we heard about Right at Home. They came and assessed her and the next week she was home in time for Christmas. Brilliant care always on time, if the traffic is bad they ring to say five or ten minutes late can't fault this firm any way.

When my Dad was diagnosed with inoperable cancer it was like a stab in the heart. I immediately had my parents come and live with me and I helped care for Dad. It began to become increasingly hard to meet Dad's needs so we asked for help. We had never experienced carers before but hadn't heard great things about them. Probably mainly media based. How wrong could I be! I don't think I have ever met such wonderful, caring, kind people who treat Dad with dignity. They are professional, punctual and reliable. They pair Dad up with carers that best suit Dad's needs and Dad is getting to know the ones that are chosen which is important to us as Dad cannot communicate very well. I am a private person and didn't know how I would feel with strangers in my house and also looking after my darling Dad. Well, again, I was so wrong. They are all my friends and I feel like I've known them for years. This company have got it spot on. I thoroughly recommend them. You cannot go wrong, I promise.

When my husband was diagnosed with an inoperable tumour in August 2015, my world fell apart. After the initial shock, I decided I wanted to look after him at home and this was when Right at Home came into the picture. I had never had any dealings with Carers before and didn't know what to expect. Right from the start they were incredible and put my mind at rest. They explained exactly what they do and what I could expect from them and more importantly they treated my husband with care, respect and total dedication. I thank them so much for that. Each one of the Carers are so lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody.

I am a retired NHS consultant who has serious illness recently and my wife, who is a trained nurse, had a total hip replacement at the same time. Hence we required care and support which is being provided by Right At Home at present. This was recommended by my optician, who is connected to Right At Home.
We are pleased to inform you that we are very pleased with the services provided by Right At Home. Carers are carefully chosen and they are well instructed to look after the client.
We shall be glad to recommend to our friends or others for the care and support if required without any hesitation.

I found this company whilst looking for short term care for my Mother who came to stay for two weeks. Both the office staff and the carers were always extremely professional, considerate and friendly towards myself and Mum. We weren't sure what to expect when we first approached Right at Home (Solent). Dad had lost a lot of mobility in the past 5 years and was looking at a stay in hospital for a major operation. My sister and I are his only family, and with full-time jobs as well as families of our own, we were both worried that we couldn't provide the support he would need.

Right at Home were understanding and professional from the first meeting. They reassured us that dad wouldn't feel that his independence was in jeopardy and they went out of their way to fully understand his situation, as well as him as a person, in order to match the perfect support worker. They have been flexible and proactive throughout our relationship, picking up on things like the need for an optician's appointment or prescription refills. It's helped us to be able to spend enjoyable time with dad again, rather than using visits to check up on him and sort out housework.

Dad talks about his visits with his support workers with enthusiasm and I really can't remember how we coped before.

My only regret is not contacting Right at Home sooner in all honesty.

It is such a welcome surprise to employ a care agency that does what they say they will provide, plus more. I am extremely satisfied with the introduction and support I got from the Director and the way he proactively contacts me and my father, making sure we are both happy, for example to sort out changes/improvements in my father's care plan.

Director and male carer has put into action the many things I wanted covered, with care and attention to everything that is important to my father and myself. It is also great to see how the male carer has developed a great relationship with my father, who has dementia, in such a short time, having starting giving care for him just over 6 weeks ago. The carer puts extra effort into providing my father's care, making small changes to the way things are done, to take into account of my father's wishes, moods and difficulty in doing things, on a daily basis.

It almost seems like the Director and Carer are now members of our 'extended family', all looking out for ways to improve my father's well being and care.

Shortly my father will also get a regular visit from another carer, with PT experience, from Right at Home (Solent) to allow my father to continue to do exercises given at a recent balance course. Without this suggestion from them, my father's mobility would start to decline again, as he unable to do the exercises on his own and can not get to other classes.

My father is now getting the support he should get, far better, 'streets apart', from the variable care (sometimes good, several times bad) previously given by 2 other care agencies employed.

My role is already starting to change back, in part, where possible, to being my father's daughter, to enjoy his company, share moments together and to remove some of the responsibility/hard work of caring for my father. Both myself and my father have greatly benefited from Right at Home (Solent) excellent care and support.

I contacted Right at Home (Solent) before my mother went in for a hip replacement operation. From that point to the last day my mother received reliable and professional care. The carers arrived on time each day and I am sure that their friendly and caring attitude helped with her recovery. They gradually encouraged my mother towards gaining her independence without making her feel vulnerable. I trusted them completely and was confident in leaving my mother in their care whilst I was out.

I would recommend Right at Home (Solent) to my friends and family and should my mother need care again I would have no reservation in contacting them again.

I’m fortunate to have been brought up in a joint family home, so spent most of my early years with my grandparents whilst my parents were working hard to secure a future for my brother and myself. I have so many fond memories of these initial years (mostly drinking tea and eating biscuits!). Imagining my Gran receiving care from someone who has no interest in her is the reason I’m here today.

There is no better feeling in the world than making someone’s day; the team we are putting together will be making people’s days, every single day.

At present I am a qualified Optometrist working within the community all over Southampton and the surrounding areas. I was born in Southampton, so I know the local area very well and I have been working in the healthcare industry for over 10 years including volunteering for the NHS in the elderly care ward at Southampton General Hospital. Working with and within the community I have become fully aware of the need for good quality care provision, and am passionate in ensuring Right at Home Solent continue to achieve doing this.

As well as continuing as an Optometrist, my role of Community Relations, will mean the team here at the Solent branch are always keeping good ties with local charities, hospices and organisations so Right at Home Solent can be at the forefront of understanding local needs within the community. Being aware of the services and amenities available for the local population is key to providing quality person centred care.
