I work for the local hospice and understand how amazing these girls are. I cannot express my gratitude enough for their care and I know my aunt's day is brightened up every time they walk through her door. I know they have had to deal with some difficult situations, for that I thank them.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. It means such a lot to the team.
Very good company, caring and cover all our needs. Good Girls.

We took on Right at Home as carers for my wife and from day one they provided a first-class service to my wife. All the carers were very professional in their services to my wife who was at times unable to help herself. Over the time had have used them there were different carers on a rota basis and all were very professional in their work and very kind to my wife. We did not know about Right at Home at the start but from the start have provided a first-class service and I would recommend them to others who require any care services. Thank you.
Thank you for your valuable and kind feedback. We will be sure to let the team know.
I could not fault the service. All staff are very helpful and pleasant.
Good support, courteous carers, professional conduct. treating my wife with dignity and respect.
Thankyou for your kind feedback. We will pass this on to the team.
The service provided meets my requirements and the carers are very proficient. The one annoyance is that their office fails to advise me of significant changes to the carer's times of arrival. Before my wife died 4 months ago the carers couldn't have been more kind and understanding and on occasions went way past what was expected of them in carrying out their duties.
I have always found Right at Home to be very good. All the carers are kind and good at their jobs. They are very supportive to mum but they are always supporting me too as without their help I couldn't look after my mum.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. Much appreciated.
I raised some queries and concerns I had regarding the care being supplied to my parents, in Bradfield.
I was concerned about the time of the morning call being too late. This has been rectified for me, which is great. I also asked about a change in carers, as my father does not get on with all carers. This is due to him being set in his ways. He had his legs amputated at 17, so has worn artificial legs for 70years and gets agitated when a carer tries to get him to put his legs on the way they want, not what he wants and knows which is understandable.
The care supplied by his three carers is great because they enable rather than dictate, which is what is needed.
Hi Lyn, thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. I am pleased that we responded to your queries and concerns and were able to resolve them to your satisfaction in a timely manner. Right at Home are always committed to providing the highest standards of care and support for...
Colchester Right at Home have been providing excellent care to my elderly mother in her own home for several years. The carers are punctual, conscientious, friendly, and kind and my mother has always looked forward to their visits. The office has always been responsive to any changes in my mother's needs and helpful in implementing them. The app that is in use is really great as I can check beforehand to see that the next visit has been scheduled and I can read the notes as soon as each visit has been completed. I would not hesitate to recommend the Colchester Right at Home team.
Warm Regards.
We have been using Right at Home since April 2016. Since my father passed away they have provided live-in carers for Mum and the care she receives from both our lovely team of live-in's and the other carers who come in to help is excellent. They have all become part of Mum's family and treat her with such love and dignity. There have been just a couple of occasions when communication by the management team could have been a bit better, but it has been a trying time.
The service and support to organise care at very short notice for my mother were outstanding. I was extremely apprehensive as it was the first time I had left my mother with a live in carer. Having met the carer allocated to us I soon realised I didn't have any worries, the dementia care, engagement and activities my mother undertook made such an amazing difference. The carer also kept me updated on my mother's progress throughout the time she spent with her. I would 100% recommend using Right at Home and will definitely be using again.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We are really pleased that everything went well. We will always do our best to assist in any way we can.
Right at Home appear to find lovely carers, everyone is so lovely.
I have been very happy with the care Right at Home have extended to my 94 year old mother who is bed bound. The dedication and compassion of the staff has been much appreciated. All the staff appear to have been well trained with the more experienced staff noticing and feeding back to me any problems or issues with my mother's ongoing health. They have always arrived on time and are friendly and polite.
Our carer has provided excellent and sympathetic service, exactly as required. She has made very valuable suggestions (e.g. purchasing a commode, storage of incontinence pods, etc.)and is tactful in her approach. We requested that only this particular carer be sent to us. And the management have been very good in complying with all that we asked for.
Very reliable, caring and comforting.
Pleased with carers who are kind and helpful - look forward to their visits. Very thoughtful and you don't know how we put up with his tales.
We are thrilled with our regular and really appreciate being able to request the carer who suits my husband best. It is also very important that carers offer to do things like post letters, return parcels apart from washing and dressing the client.

Meet the Team (4)
Peter Flannery opened Right at Home Colchester and District in January 2016 having made the decision that homecare was a very rewarding way to build a family business and work within the local community, making a positive difference in people’s lives every day.
Peter is married to Katy and together they have three grown-up children, Ben, Joe and Charlotte. Peter and Katy have lived in the Colchester/Dedham Vale area since 1990.
Peter began his management career in the brewing industry working with Grand Metropolitan, Courage and Bass before moving to the staffing industry in 1998, where he operated at the board level for more than 14 years running market-leading staffing businesses in the education sector.
Following his father being diagnosis of Dementia, Peter realised that he could apply his background and experience to the local provision of high-quality home care services.
“High-quality service has always been essential to me throughout my career and my passion for being the best at providing that service is what drives me every day, ” Peter explains, “and nowhere is that more poignant than in homecare provision. I am determined that our team provides the best quality care at home in Colchester and the surrounding district.
“It’s the quality of our people that really make the difference and we put a lot of effort into selecting the highest quality CareGivers, investing in their continuous professional development, providing them with a great environment to work in and ensuring we match their personality and skills closely to our clients’ needs.”
Peter is particularly passionate about the areas of Stroke support and Dementia and is a Dementia Champion. His mother suffered a serious stroke at the age of 28 and he has in-depth personal experience of dealing with the unique challenges of caring for and living with stroke survivors.
Peter says: “It is hugely rewarding to be able to come to work knowing that we make a real difference in people’s lives every day and it is a privilege to work with such a committed team of CareGivers and our fantastic clients and their families.
“A key member of the Right at Home team is Gina Emmins, my highly experienced Registered Manager. We are both looking forward to helping you, your family and friends with whatever your needs or queries maybe.”
In 2011, I was given an opportunity to join a local Homecare provider as a Caregiver. While working for them I also made up my hours by working in local residential homes. I quickly made my way up the business being promoted to Senior Caregiver, Weekend Service Provider, Assistant Care Manager and Manual Handling Trainer. Then in 2015, I was promoted to Care Manager.
I worked there until 2018 when sadly I was made redundant. After working at a couple of other domiciliary companies but not quite fitting in, I received a message from Orla at Right at Home who told me about the Registered Manager opportunity here. The vision and mission of Right at Home is everything that I strive for when supporting my team and clients. I joined in May 2019 and I am loving every moment. My role is always changing and it throws many challenges on a daily basis but that’s why I love it so much.
My nan worked in care for many years before she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Nan lived in her own home until she was too unsafe and went into residential care. Even though she needed care herself, she would still try to support other residents in the home because she cared so much for other people. Mum and I still cared for her even when she moved there and up until her death. I wanted to honour her and her memory by continuing to support people to live as independently as possible and to live their life in the way they want to.
I have always been brought up to treat others how I would like to be treated and being in care enables me to do this and to support my team to do this. Making a difference in people’s lives makes me so happy and that is what I live for and provides my motivation every day!
Hello, Hi, I'm Ben!
I am the Recruitment Executive/Social Media guru here at Right at Home, if you're looking to work with us then get in touch with me, I'd love to hear from you!
An interesting fact about me: As a child, I once faked a limp for 2 days, until eventually being taken to hospital by my parents. I then proceeded to walk across the room perfectly normally when asked to by the Doctor - whoops, sorry Ma!!
Hey! I'm Kath.
I have been in care since 2017, I started out as a Caregiver for the elderly then moved to Colchester where I had my first Care job working with people with learning disabilities which I loved, No two days were ever the same.
Since then I have worked hard to expand my knowledge into all different aspects of care including clinical care. I have now moved into Business Administration within Right At Home Colchester! This way I am still involved with the job I love!
