I am delighted with the professionalism yet friendly and caring service from Right at Home. All go the extra mile to make my home clean and comfortable, I have animal too, and they are looked after. Very happy client, I am truly, thanks, everyone.
The Right at Home carers have been very helpful in difficult circumstances. They treated my mum with care and respect. They became her friends and she looked forward to their visits.
Very satisfied with all the care and kindness received from all the staff. I will miss all of them.
We have restarted care following 'lockdown'. We are very happy with the safety measure Right at Home have put in place to protect her. This is of great importance to us. The carers are kind and efficient. They often communicate with us regarding any issues that may arise during visits and often take the initiative, which is a real strength. Sometimes things get overlooked when a new carer starts, but communications with management are good, and issues get sorted out quickly.
Caregivers were committed to the job, which could be very demanding.
Caregivers also showed dignity and respect.
I was kept informed of any changes or issues at all times.
Care varies amongst the carers.
Thank you for your support.
A satisfactory conscientious service from the carers attending my wife.
Right at Home has served both my father and mother for the past 2 years. They are professional and friendly, both managers and care staff. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is taken care of. Leaving my parents in their care gives me peace of mind - I know they are in safe hands!
I am pleased with the care I receive and staff are always polite, respectful and caring towards me. Reliable and trustworthy. Management are organised and thoughtful (sending me a birthday card). I understand times cannot be guaranteed but sometimes my care can be quite late in the mornings when I need to take medication. Also, recent price increase means I will not be wanting care on bank holidays due to double time.
First-class service at all times.
Our uncle was a very independent man looking after himself until he was 98 years old. It started slowly but as time went on and regular carers visited he gradually accepted the much-needed help. Carers were always happy to chat with him and us helping us all to work together to ensure he has well looked after. He spoke about his main carer until the day he died, quite an impression must have been made. Thank you all.
I have found that the carers have always greeted me with a cheery greeting. Always have a chat and made my day. I am now in a care home.
I found the carers competent and friendly and would recommend the organisation that employs them.
Happy with the service provided - my dad has got to know the carer and gets on well with her. We appreciate that she may spot other things that he may need help with and will hopefully feed this back to us.
Out of hours service also top notch.
Excellent. Happy with Right at Home.
My dad is very pleased with the care he has received. It has greatly helped him, being able to to be as independent as possible and to be able to stay in his bungalow.
Service to my husband is satisfactory and we are both satisfied on nearly all occasions.
Since mum's needs vary and she needs extra help sometimes I have been very impressed with the help you've provided us, sometimes at short notice. All the girls are wonderful.
I find the company very professional in their attendance of my mum.
Girls are very good, we are happy with the service.

Meet the Team (4)
Peter Flannery opened Right at Home Colchester and District in January 2016 having made the decision that homecare was a very rewarding way to build a family business and work within the local community, making a positive difference in people’s lives every day.
Peter is married to Katy and together they have three grown-up children, Ben, Joe and Charlotte. Peter and Katy have lived in the Colchester/Dedham Vale area since 1990.
Peter began his management career in the brewing industry working with Grand Metropolitan, Courage and Bass before moving to the staffing industry in 1998, where he operated at the board level for more than 14 years running market-leading staffing businesses in the education sector.
Following his father being diagnosis of Dementia, Peter realised that he could apply his background and experience to the local provision of high-quality home care services.
“High-quality service has always been essential to me throughout my career and my passion for being the best at providing that service is what drives me every day, ” Peter explains, “and nowhere is that more poignant than in homecare provision. I am determined that our team provides the best quality care at home in Colchester and the surrounding district.
“It’s the quality of our people that really make the difference and we put a lot of effort into selecting the highest quality CareGivers, investing in their continuous professional development, providing them with a great environment to work in and ensuring we match their personality and skills closely to our clients’ needs.”
Peter is particularly passionate about the areas of Stroke support and Dementia and is a Dementia Champion. His mother suffered a serious stroke at the age of 28 and he has in-depth personal experience of dealing with the unique challenges of caring for and living with stroke survivors.
Peter says: “It is hugely rewarding to be able to come to work knowing that we make a real difference in people’s lives every day and it is a privilege to work with such a committed team of CareGivers and our fantastic clients and their families.
“A key member of the Right at Home team is Gina Emmins, my highly experienced Registered Manager. We are both looking forward to helping you, your family and friends with whatever your needs or queries maybe.”
In 2011, I was given an opportunity to join a local Homecare provider as a Caregiver. While working for them I also made up my hours by working in local residential homes. I quickly made my way up the business being promoted to Senior Caregiver, Weekend Service Provider, Assistant Care Manager and Manual Handling Trainer. Then in 2015, I was promoted to Care Manager.
I worked there until 2018 when sadly I was made redundant. After working at a couple of other domiciliary companies but not quite fitting in, I received a message from Orla at Right at Home who told me about the Registered Manager opportunity here. The vision and mission of Right at Home is everything that I strive for when supporting my team and clients. I joined in May 2019 and I am loving every moment. My role is always changing and it throws many challenges on a daily basis but that’s why I love it so much.
My nan worked in care for many years before she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Nan lived in her own home until she was too unsafe and went into residential care. Even though she needed care herself, she would still try to support other residents in the home because she cared so much for other people. Mum and I still cared for her even when she moved there and up until her death. I wanted to honour her and her memory by continuing to support people to live as independently as possible and to live their life in the way they want to.
I have always been brought up to treat others how I would like to be treated and being in care enables me to do this and to support my team to do this. Making a difference in people’s lives makes me so happy and that is what I live for and provides my motivation every day!
Hello, Hi, I'm Ben!
I am the Recruitment Executive/Social Media guru here at Right at Home, if you're looking to work with us then get in touch with me, I'd love to hear from you!
An interesting fact about me: As a child, I once faked a limp for 2 days, until eventually being taken to hospital by my parents. I then proceeded to walk across the room perfectly normally when asked to by the Doctor - whoops, sorry Ma!!
Hey! I'm Kath.
I have been in care since 2017, I started out as a Caregiver for the elderly then moved to Colchester where I had my first Care job working with people with learning disabilities which I loved, No two days were ever the same.
Since then I have worked hard to expand my knowledge into all different aspects of care including clinical care. I have now moved into Business Administration within Right At Home Colchester! This way I am still involved with the job I love!
