I cannot recommend the support and care assistance of Right at Home enough. Our regular carer is one in a million she goes above and beyond what is expected, she treats mum with utmost respect and dignity and genuinely cares. We also have the added support of management on the end of the line.
I had a very mixed view of 'old age' when I met my carers. They have worked with me for quite a long time and had a good experience. Thanks to them all.
Good company. Girls are very good and help you.
We are more than happy with the service we receive. Our daughter gets on well with the girls and is happy to work with them and have got a good understanding of what is needed on a daily basis.
I could not wish for better care and treatment.
Right at Home was very responsive in listening to and understanding our particular needs. They spent time getting to know our mother and what would be best for her. The choice of carer was perfect and our mother has enjoyed an ongoing relationship. Right at Home has continued to be responsive and accommodating, ensuring that our mother's needs are met above and beyond. The peace of mind that brings is priceless.
Very happy.
The girls are always very kind and helpful.
I am satisfied.
I have been delighted with the care, kindness and good manners I have received from your staff.
Very good.
The care I receive is adequate.
The carers I am with right now are lovely. They took care of me and my necessities and needs. They've been very affectionate, very sweet and very caring.
Overall very satisfied with the care that mum received. I would highly recommend. Not a cheap option but in my opinion, you get what you pay for!
Everything is done in a very professional manner. Mother was reluctant to receive help but the support staff were able to win and build confidence that made her comfortable.
Right at Home delivered a very good service and their staff rightly deserve high praise for the excellent way they performed their duties.
I get on extremely well with my caregiver.
Very good review, no complaints. Agency staff all very good, and excellent in helping. Nothing too much trouble.
All staff are very good.
They were all very caring.
Overall standard is very good and polite.
Care has been excellent right from the very beginning. I have no complaints whatsoever. Couldn't manage without them. I recommend the girls all the time. Very happy, wonderful service.

Meet the Team (4)
Peter Flannery opened Right at Home Colchester and District in January 2016 having made the decision that homecare was a very rewarding way to build a family business and work within the local community, making a positive difference in people’s lives every day.
Peter is married to Katy and together they have three grown-up children, Ben, Joe and Charlotte. Peter and Katy have lived in the Colchester/Dedham Vale area since 1990.
Peter began his management career in the brewing industry working with Grand Metropolitan, Courage and Bass before moving to the staffing industry in 1998, where he operated at the board level for more than 14 years running market-leading staffing businesses in the education sector.
Following his father being diagnosis of Dementia, Peter realised that he could apply his background and experience to the local provision of high-quality home care services.
“High-quality service has always been essential to me throughout my career and my passion for being the best at providing that service is what drives me every day, ” Peter explains, “and nowhere is that more poignant than in homecare provision. I am determined that our team provides the best quality care at home in Colchester and the surrounding district.
“It’s the quality of our people that really make the difference and we put a lot of effort into selecting the highest quality CareGivers, investing in their continuous professional development, providing them with a great environment to work in and ensuring we match their personality and skills closely to our clients’ needs.”
Peter is particularly passionate about the areas of Stroke support and Dementia and is a Dementia Champion. His mother suffered a serious stroke at the age of 28 and he has in-depth personal experience of dealing with the unique challenges of caring for and living with stroke survivors.
Peter says: “It is hugely rewarding to be able to come to work knowing that we make a real difference in people’s lives every day and it is a privilege to work with such a committed team of CareGivers and our fantastic clients and their families.
“A key member of the Right at Home team is Gina Emmins, my highly experienced Registered Manager. We are both looking forward to helping you, your family and friends with whatever your needs or queries maybe.”
In 2011, I was given an opportunity to join a local Homecare provider as a Caregiver. While working for them I also made up my hours by working in local residential homes. I quickly made my way up the business being promoted to Senior Caregiver, Weekend Service Provider, Assistant Care Manager and Manual Handling Trainer. Then in 2015, I was promoted to Care Manager.
I worked there until 2018 when sadly I was made redundant. After working at a couple of other domiciliary companies but not quite fitting in, I received a message from Orla at Right at Home who told me about the Registered Manager opportunity here. The vision and mission of Right at Home is everything that I strive for when supporting my team and clients. I joined in May 2019 and I am loving every moment. My role is always changing and it throws many challenges on a daily basis but that’s why I love it so much.
My nan worked in care for many years before she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Nan lived in her own home until she was too unsafe and went into residential care. Even though she needed care herself, she would still try to support other residents in the home because she cared so much for other people. Mum and I still cared for her even when she moved there and up until her death. I wanted to honour her and her memory by continuing to support people to live as independently as possible and to live their life in the way they want to.
I have always been brought up to treat others how I would like to be treated and being in care enables me to do this and to support my team to do this. Making a difference in people’s lives makes me so happy and that is what I live for and provides my motivation every day!
Hello, Hi, I'm Ben!
I am the Recruitment Executive/Social Media guru here at Right at Home, if you're looking to work with us then get in touch with me, I'd love to hear from you!
An interesting fact about me: As a child, I once faked a limp for 2 days, until eventually being taken to hospital by my parents. I then proceeded to walk across the room perfectly normally when asked to by the Doctor - whoops, sorry Ma!!
Hey! I'm Kath.
I have been in care since 2017, I started out as a Caregiver for the elderly then moved to Colchester where I had my first Care job working with people with learning disabilities which I loved, No two days were ever the same.
Since then I have worked hard to expand my knowledge into all different aspects of care including clinical care. I have now moved into Business Administration within Right At Home Colchester! This way I am still involved with the job I love!
