Home Instead (Croydon & Dulwich)

I wanted to say how grateful I am to Home Instead for all the support and care they gave my mother during the last years of her life, including palliative care at home for five days. In particular, I would like to emphasise the dignity and respect they showed to my mum at a time in her life when she had little self-control due to dementia.

IMum has now passed away but whilst Home instead Croydon & Dulwich were providing daily Carers to support her to stay in her home and be as independent as possible I was always confident in the care that was being provided to her. The management team and carer staff were all helpful, friendly and flexible whenever needed. They were also extremely supportive whilst Mum was recovering from Covid at home too when I myself was unable to visit for 10 days. During that time they were in regular contact with me and adjusted the support as needed to get mum through that challenging time. I was very satisfied with their care of my mum over the 13+ months they were involved with her care.

I cannot thank you all enough for facilitating my dad's desire to remain at home for as long as his deteriorating health needs permitted.

Home Instead has provided carers for both of our parents at differing times, has often needed to respond quickly to our parents' needs and has tried to provide consistency with the care given.

We engaged the team at Home Instead (Croydon and Dulwich) to provide care for my elderly mother, who lives alone and suffers from dementia. The care staff are extremely reliable and caring and deliver a high-quality service. They understand the complexities of caring for individuals with dementia and have created a stable and safe environment for my mother, who always looks forward to their visits! The management team at Home Instead also work very hard to meet our needs and have been extremely responsive to our requests. Overall, we are very pleased with the level of service provided.

We have been very fortunate not to have the need for in-depth personal care, but our caregiver has always been prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that our needs were met. A great companion for my wife, right up to having to go into hospital, and regrettably, now into residential care.

As well as practical support, Home Instead have provided much-needed emotional support and friendship. My sister has had a variety of carers (who were all very good), and in recent years, one person has been her main carer. This individual has been totally outstanding, and my sister has made a very close bond with her. Thank you, Home Instead.

The management and care staff keep in touch with me regularly, and I know the carers communicate with each other. The carers do exactly that - they care. I’ve met many of the staff and like how they interact with both my step-mum and me. I know they’ll change their routine to take her for simple walks and the like, and change their timetable to accompany her to medical appointments as needed. There’s a sense of ‘family’ in how they approach what they offer.

Care service started after a stay in hospital for Mum after Dad passed away. After initially not feeling she wanted any help, she now enjoys seeing her caregiver every weekday. Mum gets the companionship she needs, and there is a lovely new little routine to her days now.

Home Instead provides full-time care for my mother, who has dementia. The carers are kind and caring and focus on all aspects of her well being and ensure her dignity. Management genuinely cares for my mother and will go the extra mile to help. The service is tailored to her needs, and Home Instead has hugely supported us to achieve looking after Mum from home. Management and carers make Mum feel special and important; their kindness and care are very special.

My mother has been a client of Home Instead (Croydon), for the past two years. The care she has received has been excellent and the carers who have visited her have always been professional, reliable, always concerned for her wellbeing providing both personal care and companionship. The agency has reacted flexibly if there was a need for extra help at any time and it has always been easy to speak to a member of the team to discuss any day-to-day issues.

I use Home Instead for my mum who has short term memory lose and takes medication. Home instead have provided someone who not just gives medicine but also company. This service is very good and during the pandemic a service that I could not do without

One of the hardest things I have had to do, finding care for my mum. My brother and I saw a few care companies, finding Home Instead Croydon, was finding the gem in the pack. The objective was to find care so my brother and I and the family could spend quality time with Mum. The Director and his team at Croydon delivered all that we wanted, and went beyond our expectations, the care givers we selected and bonds we formed very quickly, everything fell onto place not just with Mum but with us they soon became a part of the family. The Director and his wife called in at least 4/5 times a week to check everything was ok, nothing was too much trouble anything Mum needed, fancied to eat it was all sorted. The kindness of care, keeping mums dignity, staying with her, even some of the care givers singing to her made all this experience easier for us. The objective was achieved 100%. I cannot recommend Home Instead Croydon enough.

The management of Home Instead went well beyond the extra mile throughout the time looking after mum. Nothing and I mean nothing, was too much trouble. They should be proud of how they run the business.
