R@H are a god send to both my husband and myself. It is so reassuring knowing all his personal and dressing needs are being taken care of by carers who are so respectful, attentive and kind. The call for daily visits to shower and dress my wife came as a consequence of breaking her left arm. Each carer was welcomed seeing they are the only visitors, but the pleasuring aspect is that it is done without exception just as a job, but with care and a measure of affection. Thank you.

Annie was very professional and supportive from the very first point of contact. Very responsive to questions and had a lovely rapport with my mother.
All sitters were fantastic and were able to put my mother at ease, and provided a very caring service.

At one point, I urgently needed 24/7 sitters at very short notice and Right at Home responded efficiently and was able to start that care literally within hours. It felt like I had a Fairy Godmother!

Reply from Joe Guishard, Director at Right at Home (Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan)

Hi Julia, thank you so much for you kind comments and I am so glad Annie and our team were able to support and help mum, at short notice. I will be sure to pass this posiitve feedback on to all the team.

From the first contact with this agency in June, when I was searching for carers for my mother as a matter of urgency, to date, I have found all staff members to be quick to respond, very friendly, and professional in their dealings with me. They have also always been kind, careful and supportive in their visits to my mother. Everyone involved with her care has been reliable, punctual and adaptable as our requirements have changed & this is all much appreciated by the entire family.

We needed discharge from hospital care for my father-in-law and the service was very helpful as the date of discharge was uncertain. The company has experienced managers who were able to assess him and to respond quickly and put services in place rapidly. There are a wide range of services available. We had 7 days of live in care which helped to assess what was needed longer term. He is now having someone to cook for him three times a week and all the carers have been experienced and competent in their jobs, arrive on time and take good care of him. They are kind and helpful. With family living at a distance this help has enabled my father-in-law to keep his independence.

My husband has been receiving care from Right at Home since 2024. The care they provide is wonderful. All the carers are so kind and helpful. They treat my husband with dignity and he loves to see them. They are friendly to him and put him at ease and make him laugh. It's not just one of them they are all the same. We have been working closely with Right at Home for over a year now for my mother's twice-daily care. It is not an easy job to do but the individual carers show great compassion and understanding of a difficult situation and allow us, the family, to spend time as son and daughter rather than carer. We cannot give enough praise to the staff involved in Mum's care and would not hesitate to recommend the service to others. Any minor problems that arose have been sorted quickly and efficiently between us.

We had Right at Home for my mother-in-law last year and the year before. They were absolutely brilliant, very attentive to her needs and compassionate. The only reason we changed is because she needed double care and they didn't have the capacity at the time. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for care.

Reply from Joe Guishard, Director at Right at Home (Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan)

Joe Guishard

Hello, I am Joe Guishard – Owner of Right at Home, Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan.

I am very proud of being the first Right at Home provider of care to the seniors in the Welsh Principality. I was born in Cardiff and have lived here all my life, so it gives me a feeling of great pride that I can now offer a service to the community that has helped look after me.

Prior to opening this company, I was a serving police officer for 6 years, wearing shoe leather in Cardiff. On my “off duty” days, I spent many hours supporting my elderly grandparents in a multitude of areas. These include practical tasks such as gardening and cooking, but also engaging in long fascinating conversations with my grandma about the ‘good old days’. I knew should they want care in their own homes, later on in life where family or loved ones were not able to help, then I would want them to have the quality of care that they deserve. I came to realise that by opening Right at Home in Cardiff and Newport I would be able to offer this quality care, and also ensure that other seniors or vulnerable adults looking for similar quality services could rely on me and my company.

Hi, my name is Holly, I have worked in care for almost ten years, starting my care journey with Right At Home when I was in university studying Education. I began as a carer and progressed through the company, firstly as admin then co-ordinator, to Registered Manager.

I left for a short time after having my daughter, to work in another domiciliary care agency as their Networking Officer, before now returning to my roots with Right At Home.

I have two young children – an 8-month-old son and a 2 ½-year-old daughter, so when I am not at work I am generally chasing them around, stopping the baby from dribbling on the toddler or stopping the toddler from throwing things at the baby. When I am not wrestling with the children, I prefer to spend my time outdoors, walking with my dog, relaxing in the garden with a book, or trying and failing to grow things in my allotment.

I working in the care industry because I want to make a difference! I enjoy meeting people and doing what I can to ensure they have the best day possible.

I am really excited to be back as part of the Right At Home team, and I am looking forward to catching up with those I have worked with previously, and getting to know staff I have not met yet.

Hi, I'm Vicky, and I've recently joined the team as an Admin Assistant.

With over 15 years of experience in the care industry, I began as a carer and progressed to become a care coordinator. However, my true passion has always been in administration and compliance.

I've attained my QCF Level 5 and continuously pursue professional development through various training programs and courses.

I'm thrilled to be part of the Right at Home team, sharing the same values and passion for delivering high-quality services.

Outside of work, I'm happily married to Darren, and together, we care for our pug named Zeus.

During my free time, I cherish long walks, gardening, reading, and spending precious moments with my family and friends.

Rebecca Evans Job Title: Compliance Supervisor
Rebecca Evans

Hi,

My name is Rebecca; Becky or Beck to friends and Boo to my family! I started out my career working in retail for Mitchells and Butlers at the age of 16. I became the Manager of my first Vintage Inn at 24 and have always loved the excitement of running a busy pub, providing great customer service and meeting new people.

Another passion of mine is foreign language and culture. I gained a degree in English and Hispanic studies, and I spent a year living in Spain. This led me to a role teaching Spanish to young children in schools and other educational settings, inspiring them to learn and grow for 8 years.

In 2020, when the Covid Pandemic hit, pubs and schools closed, and I was left with the daunting prospect of a change in career. By nature, I like to keep busy and to feel useful. I felt that during such a difficult time, I wanted to help people and give back to the community. I applied for a position with Right at Home Cardiff and Newport…and I have never looked back!

I have been with the company for 4 years, and I can honestly say I have loved every minute! We share the same passion and values; helping people to live fulfilling and dignified lives within their own homes and providing quality person-centred care. Although challenging at times, I have found this job to be enriching and rewarding and I have met some amazing people along the way. Over time, I have progressed to the position of Community Lead in the Newport area and then in Bridgend, where I moved in September 2024.

I have enjoyed getting to know all of our wonderful clients and our fantastic Care team. I look forward to embarking on this new chapter as Field Care Supervisor for Right at Home Bridgend and Vale, and I strive to help it to reach its potential of being the absolute best provider of Care around! I am excited to see where this journey will take me.

When I am not working, I enjoy walks with my partner, cooking, going to gym, musical theatre and singing. I have been with my choir, Allegra, for nearly 15 years and enjoy performing in concerts and competitions.

Hi! I'm Kali, I have worked for Right at Home for several years. I am extremely excited to work within our Bridgend branch as a community lead. I love a chat with our clients and enjoy providing outstanding care in the community!
