The manager was always very prompt and positive in her replies to any requests. The sitters were by all accounts caring of my mother, even though I did not meet many of them as I was abroad. It was best when there was continuity of personnel. It was comforting to know that my mother was being cared for during the night.

If anyone is looking for care support, I highly recommend Right at Home Carers.
We had to replace our previous care support as they were not reaching the standards nor professionalism we would expect from health care providers; social services managed to find us this wonderful team. It has been apparent that the team are well trained and qualified to perform their difficult tasks; most importantly, for me, is that they have the training to help assist people with Dementia. The girls that come to visit each week are kind, supportive, empathetic, patient and genuine; they do not hesitate to communicate with me on how mum is doing; they keep up to date a file on each and every visit which each of their colleagues must log and read when they are attending the house.
I would like to thank in particular three ladies, my mum really enjoys their company and care, and nothing is too big for them; I cannot emphasise enough how thankful we are.

Excellent - thank you!

Right at Home have provided home care for Mum on afternoons for nearly one year. Care is provided for my elderly mother who lives alone, is independent in daily tasks, but who has multiple health problems.
Her carer provides assistance for activities of daily living as Mum now needs more assistance to avoid further risks to her health. It is great to have someone who can assist Mum with household tasks and chores as and when they arise.
Mum has severe communication difficulties due to a history of cerebrovascular disease. Her carer is a wonderful conversational partner for Mum and helps her with the practical activities she has always enjoyed such as planting and admiring the flowers in the garden.
During the Covid19 pandemic, we have been unable to visit Mum so often, and we have increased the days the carer comes to Mum's house. She has facilitated video chats for Mum with her family and grown-up grandchildren.

We have been more than happy with Mum's carer and substitute.

Right at Home have always been helpful, obliging and reliable. They have always endeavoured to send the same carer to help my Mum which has ensured continuity and helped Mum to feel comfortable and at ease. If ever we have had to change the usual routine, they have been most obliging. I have never regretted choosing this company and would definitely recommend them to others.

Wow, where to begin. Right at Home have been caring for my mum for the last few years and I am delighted to say have been brilliant. In fact, Mum's main carer became like a daughter to her and constantly kept me up to date with anything she thought I needed to know. The care itself was superb, catering to all Mum's needs, from washing and dressing to making breakfast, doing any odds and ends and to making sure Mum had taken all her medicines. This took a massive amount of pressure off the family and I couldn't thank them enough. Would I recommend this company? Without a doubt, 100%.

We were very impressed with the initial assessment of needs even though Right at Home was ultimately unable to provide help at that point. Subsequently, via an updated assessment, services have been provided and although only for one or two very short sessions per week, this has been done very reliably with good professional standards and a friendly approach. We are hoping that these standards of help and support will continue into the future.

My sister has been a different person since the care started with a good understanding and empathy shown for her dementia symptoms. Communication and feedback are good and I feel confident that my sister's needs are being monitored and that I will be advised when something needs addressing. The almost 200-mile distance is no longer a worry.

From the point of contact by telephone, the agency has listened carefully to our needs, taken time to really understand us and have been professional, friendly and supportive in their approach with my mum and wider family.

They have taken time and care to ensure the support is right for her and been really flexible in their approach. Their communication is excellent ensuring each week we know what the plan ahead is for the following week.

Thank you.

Right at Home have provided us with outstanding care for my

mother-in-law who has Alzheimer's and lived with us prior to entering a nursing home. Quite simply we would not of coped without them. While caring primarily for my mother in law they also supported myself and my husband in what were difficult and testing circumstances. I would recommend them without hesitation.

When my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease I realised things would have to change, and that our life would never be the same.

When he deteriorated and we needed to get further assistance I was dreading the intrusion of strangers into our life and home, I could not have been more wrong. From day one the Right at Home staff have provided us with excellent, reliable and efficient service. The office staff and the carers have been timely, caring and reliable, preserving his dignity and treating us both with respect.

Thank you everyone, I could not have managed without you,

Right at Home have been caring for my mum for the last 12 months. The commitment of their management team and the carers is outstanding and has far exceeded my expectations. They truly care about their clients and go the extra mile to make sure they are comfortable and happy. They make a big difference to my mum's life, providing essential social interaction as well as help with her day to day personal care. It is a difficult job and they do it with patience, care and good humour, I couldn't ask more of them.

I have to say without question this agency became a like a member of our family.
They operated in a way that was, without doubt, five star and I cannot recommend highly enough.
I phoned the agency one morning as I needed help with my father who at the time was in hospital but had been discharged. There was no way he could come home without help.

The agency could clearly see how desperate I was to bring him home and by 5pm that day care had been set up and home he came. The manager assessed his home situation and visited Dad in hospital to find out his requirements. The paperwork was drawn up, but thankfully it didn’t delay any movement of his homecoming... where else would this happen? As we all know some companies require credit checks, full documentation etc ...but not this amazing Company. All the staff that looked after Dad were kind, caring people who were punctual and carried out there work as required and probably more.

When the time comes to get help to care for a loved one at home, it is an emotional time, filled with anxiety, stress and the need to get it right.
Although my husband was at first reluctant in accepting help, in a very short time he came to appreciate the value of care and support he received to enable us to stay at home together.
The quality of personal care provided was second to none, but the additional emotional support to our whole family saw us through some tough times. Be it a chat over a cup of tea, holding hands and hugs when we were sad and lots of laughs to lift our spirits, our carers were always there and never failed us.
They came into our home as strangers but became part of our family and our friends.

Without our Right at Home carers, we could not have been at home until the end.

Joe Guishard

Hello, I am Joe Guishard – Owner of Right at Home, Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan.

I am very proud of being the first Right at Home provider of care to the seniors in the Welsh Principality. I was born in Cardiff and have lived here all my life, so it gives me a feeling of great pride that I can now offer a service to the community that has helped look after me.

Prior to opening this company, I was a serving police officer for 6 years, wearing shoe leather in Cardiff. On my “off duty” days, I spent many hours supporting my elderly grandparents in a multitude of areas. These include practical tasks such as gardening and cooking, but also engaging in long fascinating conversations with my grandma about the ‘good old days’. I knew should they want care in their own homes, later on in life where family or loved ones were not able to help, then I would want them to have the quality of care that they deserve. I came to realise that by opening Right at Home in Cardiff and Newport I would be able to offer this quality care, and also ensure that other seniors or vulnerable adults looking for similar quality services could rely on me and my company.

Hi, my name is Holly, I have worked in care for almost ten years, starting my care journey with Right At Home when I was in university studying Education. I began as a carer and progressed through the company, firstly as admin then co-ordinator, to Registered Manager.

I left for a short time after having my daughter, to work in another domiciliary care agency as their Networking Officer, before now returning to my roots with Right At Home.

I have two young children – an 8-month-old son and a 2 ½-year-old daughter, so when I am not at work I am generally chasing them around, stopping the baby from dribbling on the toddler or stopping the toddler from throwing things at the baby. When I am not wrestling with the children, I prefer to spend my time outdoors, walking with my dog, relaxing in the garden with a book, or trying and failing to grow things in my allotment.

I working in the care industry because I want to make a difference! I enjoy meeting people and doing what I can to ensure they have the best day possible.

I am really excited to be back as part of the Right At Home team, and I am looking forward to catching up with those I have worked with previously, and getting to know staff I have not met yet.

Hi, I'm Vicky, and I've recently joined the team as an Admin Assistant.

With over 15 years of experience in the care industry, I began as a carer and progressed to become a care coordinator. However, my true passion has always been in administration and compliance.

I've attained my QCF Level 5 and continuously pursue professional development through various training programs and courses.

I'm thrilled to be part of the Right at Home team, sharing the same values and passion for delivering high-quality services.

Outside of work, I'm happily married to Darren, and together, we care for our pug named Zeus.

During my free time, I cherish long walks, gardening, reading, and spending precious moments with my family and friends.

Rebecca Evans Job Title: Compliance Supervisor
Rebecca Evans

Hi,

My name is Rebecca; Becky or Beck to friends and Boo to my family! I started out my career working in retail for Mitchells and Butlers at the age of 16. I became the Manager of my first Vintage Inn at 24 and have always loved the excitement of running a busy pub, providing great customer service and meeting new people.

Another passion of mine is foreign language and culture. I gained a degree in English and Hispanic studies, and I spent a year living in Spain. This led me to a role teaching Spanish to young children in schools and other educational settings, inspiring them to learn and grow for 8 years.

In 2020, when the Covid Pandemic hit, pubs and schools closed, and I was left with the daunting prospect of a change in career. By nature, I like to keep busy and to feel useful. I felt that during such a difficult time, I wanted to help people and give back to the community. I applied for a position with Right at Home Cardiff and Newport…and I have never looked back!

I have been with the company for 4 years, and I can honestly say I have loved every minute! We share the same passion and values; helping people to live fulfilling and dignified lives within their own homes and providing quality person-centred care. Although challenging at times, I have found this job to be enriching and rewarding and I have met some amazing people along the way. Over time, I have progressed to the position of Community Lead in the Newport area and then in Bridgend, where I moved in September 2024.

I have enjoyed getting to know all of our wonderful clients and our fantastic Care team. I look forward to embarking on this new chapter as Field Care Supervisor for Right at Home Bridgend and Vale, and I strive to help it to reach its potential of being the absolute best provider of Care around! I am excited to see where this journey will take me.

When I am not working, I enjoy walks with my partner, cooking, going to gym, musical theatre and singing. I have been with my choir, Allegra, for nearly 15 years and enjoy performing in concerts and competitions.
