At First4Homecare, we deliver high-quality home care in Gloucester with pricing that is clear, fair and easy to understand. Families should feel confident about both the care provided and the costs involved, from the very first conversation.
The cost of home care in Gloucester depends on individual circumstances. This includes the type of support required, how often care is delivered, and the level of assistance needed. We offer flexible care options, from short support visits through to full live-in care at home. Where care needs are more complex, two carers may be required to ensure safety and continuity, and this will always be explained clearly and agreed in advance.
Live-in care allows people in Gloucester to remain in their own home while receiving consistent, one-to-one support. For many families, it provides a reassuring and practical alternative to residential care. Pricing for live-in care reflects the level of support required and is agreed upfront, giving clarity and peace of mind.
Every service includes a personalised care plan, tailored to individual needs, daily routines, personal preferences and budget. This ensures care is appropriate, respectful and sustainable over time.
We make arranging home care in Gloucester as simple and supportive as possible. Our local team takes time to understand your situation, explain your options clearly, and design a care package that fits your circumstances. Once care begins, care plans are kept under regular review to ensure support continues to meet changing needs.

First4Homecare came first to help with my husband's care in January when he just needed assistance once a day in the morning. He was then admitted to hospital for 2 months and became increasingly frail. On discharge in April, he needed care four times a day. I contacted First4Homecare who agreed to provide the care he needed. They arranged the time of discharge and came straight away to assess his needs. Care was arranged and I was given a plan of times and carers. All the carers who came were kind and attentive to his needs and considerate to me including decisions needing to be made. Each week I was given a plan ahead and although it occasionally had to be changed I was always kept informed and never let down. On the day he died, they were with him and supportive to me until my family arrived and the nurse informed me. I really appreciated them all and the care they gave and highly recommend First4Homecare.
Thanks for your kind review of our services, your husband was a pleasure to care for, a true gentleman right up until the end of his life.
The care my dad receives is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. The interaction with dad is amazing and it has made a massive difference to dad's/our lives. They are always happy to help and communicate with the family when needed. Cannot thank them enough for all they do.
Thank you for your lovely review, your Dad is one of the clients we've been caring for the longest and I know the staff have a great rapport with him.
They have given me a detailed schedule of attendance and my son is able to monitor progress via an app.
I look forward to their attendance and care.
Thank you for your kind review, we all thoroughly enjoy visiting you.
When my husband was discharged from hospital I needed some support and First4Homecare Ltd have been brilliant. He has been readmitted a couple of times and each time, unfortunately, I have had to cancel their support at short notice and they have completely understood. I would certainly recommend them to anyone.
Thanks for your kind review, we hope further hospitalisations aren't necessary for you and your husband's sake!
A team of bright, thoroughly committed, professional and caring people. The manager and her colleagues looked after my wife for around 5 months with the utmost thought and care under challenging circumstances. They built a strong rapport with my wife and family and seemed more like close friends than carers. People who you can trust. If you want a team of lovely professionals willing to do everything that they can for your loved one then I highly recommend First4Homecare.
Thank you for your lovely review of our services, our whole ethos is built around delivering professional and friendly care and it seems we have achieved that with you and your family.
My mother has been very satisfied with the care she receives. The carers are all very friendly and have on all but a few occasions, due to unforeseen events, arrived at the time on the schedule which you receive every week.
Thank you for your kind review. Unfortunately "unforeseen events" are a bit of an occupational hazard but we work hard to keep these to a minimum.
Their communications with me were regular and caring for me too.
Thank you for your review. As you already know, the staff thoroughly enjoyed caring for your Mother and were sad when she was no longer able to stay at home.
I strongly recommend First4Homecare Ltd to anybody who is looking for a professional, reliable and caring service for their family members. We have been using this service now for a number of years for my elderly mother of ninety-four. We have been very happy with the level of care my mother has received from all of her caregivers, she is extremely lonely and really looks forward to seeing the girls for some company and a chat. The director does an amazing job at selecting such great carers, they are all lovely and will help around the house wherever is needed. I also feel my mother is very safe in their hands. We are extremely grateful to the whole team. Thank you!
Thank you for your lovely review of our services. The staff all enjoy visiting your Mother, who is amazing for her age.
My husband came home from hospital in October and he was very poorly, I was introduced to First4Homecare and I found them to be very caring and understanding what was needed for my husband. They are very professional in their work but also friendly and very kind to both myself and my husband. All the staff are fantastic and I can’t thank them enough for what they do.
Thank you for your lovely review of our care. It's always nice to hear that the staff are fantastic as that is always our aim as well as developing the great relationships you have formed with them, which I know the staff also value.
On the whole, I have been quite satisfied.
Thank you for your review. Having just heard that you are moving area, we will all miss you but wish you well in your new home.
I can't recommend this company highly enough. First4Homecare is extremely well run and the carers are kind, patient and caring, always with a smile. We asked them to help with Dad’s personal care, enabling him to stay at home with his wife. When Dad developed covid-19 and lost mobility over a bank holiday weekend, both The Care Manager and the carers went ‘above and beyond’, doubling up for each visit as he needed two carers, and adjusting the timings of visits for changing needs quickly. I can't thank the Care Manager enough for her organisational skills, leadership, proactive approach and she worked alongside her carers when needed. Communication was excellent with the Open Pass app so, even at a distance, we could gain a good understanding of how Dad was at each visit. The Care Manager was also in close contact when Dad's needs were changing and liaised well with the Occupational Therapist. First4Homecare certainly live up to their name and I would highly recommend them to anyone
Thank you for your kind review, we pride ourselves on the qualities you detail and couldn't do any of this without our fantastic team of care staff. It was lovely to hear that your dad is regaining his strength in his current respite stay and hope that we can continue his care at home soon.
Sadly mum passed away a few months ago which meant dad had to be moved into residential care. The Director and staff members attended the funeral which really meant a lot to me. I feel mum and dad were special to them too.
I cannot praise the Director and her team highly enough; I am so grateful for everything they did in the twelve months or so of caring for mum and dad and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them 100%.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review, we've also loved the photos you've sent us of your Dad. As you say both of your parents were special to us and we were sorry when your Mum passed away so suddenly. Wish your Dad well from all of us.
I cannot praise First4Homecare highly enough. The manager leads an exceptional team who are professional and caring. They treat my husband, who is bedbound with advanced dementia, with respect and maintain his dignity at all times. However busy they are, the calls are never rushed. The procedure in place to prevent cross-infection, with coronavirus in mind, is strictly adhered to by everyone, giving me peace of mind. My husband needs two carers four times a day, and it feels as if friends are visiting each time, as the carers are so friendly and helpful. I really feel supported in a way I have never felt before. I know I will be able to continue to care for my husband with the support from First4Homecare.
Thank you so much for your kind review. The staff enjoy their visits to your husband and yourself and also recognise the friendship you extend to them. We've also noted how your lovely husband has started to interact more, which makes the visits very rewarding from our view of point.
I highly recommend First4Homecare Ltd for their consideration and kindness to the client no task was too much for them to do. I give them 5 star for their professionalism. Thank you so very much, you have a great team.
Thank you so much for your kind review. It's a shame that homecare was eventually not an option but we do hope that your Dad quickly settles into his new surroundings
I would highly recommend First4Homecare, they go above and beyond, right from the beginning. We are very great full to them.
Thank you for your review of our services. We enjoyed caring for your grandmother and also getting to know your family.
The team have been caring for my 90-year-old mum with dementia since April, so stepped in to help right at the start of Lockdown when we thought it would be impossible to get care. Mum loves their twice-daily visits - she sees the same small number of lovely carers who make sure she has her pills, meals and drinks. They do home cleaning, washing and changing beds, and most importantly sit and chat with her. Having this high level of care in place has been such a relief for the family. Also we receive feedback and any concerns very efficiently, but only when necessary, and all tasks are noted daily. I highly recommend First4Homecare!
Thank you for your review, your Mum is a lovely lady who the staff who visit her enjoy caring for. Whilst some aspects of her dementia (frustration and despair) are sometimes upsetting for her and care staff alike, her wonderful, kind personality shines through.
When my wife was in urgent need of assistance I called upon Heritage Healthcare Gloucester. The response was immediate. Within an hour the team leader was with us. A plan was formulated and care commenced that day. We quickly got the team of carers and I can honestly say that without their help my wife's wish to remain at home would not have been possible. The whole team was most courteous and in full control of the situation at all times and often exceeded the agreed call durations. It was a massive relief to me to see my wife was in such capable hands. Exceptional care by a wonderful team. I will never be able to thank them enough. The least I can do is pass on this recommendation with total confidence.
Thank you so much for your lovely review; it was our privilege to care for your wife and to meet you, being just as the lockdown started added a slightly unusual dimension but also proves that whatever the situation we will find a way to make it work.
I came into contact with Heritage when my Father in Law was in the end of life pathway at his home. The carers attended four times a day and treated him with respect and cared for him to a high degree. My wife (his daughter) and I became friends with all the carers during the short period of six days before his passing. The carers showed great empathy and involved us in all aspects of his care. We could not have asked for better carers at his difficult time. The care manager could not have been more supportive to us.
Thank you not only for your kind review but also for taking the time to do so when your loss has been so recent. We saw your fathers-in-laws' sense of humour in that short time and also that he was a real gentleman. It was our privilege to have provided his end of life care and also to have met you and your wife.
My gran still likes to be independent even though we do a lot for her that she doesn’t realise. Heritage Health Care are always on hand if something has gone wrong or my gran is unwell.
I have great confidence in Heritage Health Care and their team and the communication we have with them is brilliant.
Would highly recommend.
Thank you for review, we thoroughly enjoy caring for your grandmother, we feel we have adapted to understand and respond to her needs and (often illogical) worries and can usually reassure her that all is well. She is a delightful lady with a wonderful smile and great sense of humour.
The care package required was discussed, arranged and implemented very quickly by the manager, which enabled my elderly mother to remain in her own home until she died at the age of 95. Heritage Healthcare team looked after her for 15 months by helping her in the mornings and evenings with getting washed, dressed and undressed, and breakfast and supper being prepared. Communication with myself was excellent, with suggestions for adjustments to benefit my mother and any concerns were promptly dealt with. My mother had several health concerns and the care team were quick to raise any issues that they thought needed attention. The manager always goes the extra mile and I have no hesitation in recommending her and her team which includes the business administration director.
Thank you for your review. We thoroughly enjoyed caring for your Mother and had many laughs with her over the 15 months, she was an incredible lady, sorely missed.
