My mother wished to stay in her own home during her last three months and we could not have managed this on our own or without the support from her carers who became part of the family team looking after her. From just needing help in dressing, when we first needed help.
Sadly Mum's condition rapidly deteriorated and the carers coped with it quickly becoming palliative care.
The whole Home Instead team made us feel supported and helped us so much in such a stressful and emotionally difficult time.
It was our pleasure supporting your mum during her last months. She was a joy to be around and she will be greatly missed by our team.
I feel that a person over 90 years of age really needs this support every day if living on their own. A lot of elderly could not afford help all the time, ideal if you need help following an operation or illness or other help. The days that you need help there is none!

The helper was organised to assist me to have a bath. I have some disabled fittings in the bath at home. These consist of a battery raised and lowered seat on a flexible lead which carries the power. The Care Assistant soon made use of these, lowered me into the water, washed me and then raised me and helped me out and dried me and put some clothes on.

I have found the staff excellent, but feel the charge came too high.

I must make mention of my parent's main carer. I can best describe her as a clone of me, their daughter. She treats my parents with total respect etc, and nothing is ever too much trouble.
In short, I don't know what we would do without Home Instead, they have changed all our lives for the better.
Both carers have been very kind, caring and efficient looking after me and my home.
