Overall, I would say that Mum's ongoing experience of Kare Plus has been very good. The carers turn up when they should, and are always helpful and polite, cooking Mum her lunch and sometimes helping to prepare a meal for later in the day. They also do a bit of ironing and hoovering as necessary. Dealing with the Field Care Administrator in the office is always a pleasure, especially given we sometimes have to make changes/cancellations. The rotas are always sent out in time for me to advise Mum which carer she is having in advance (important to her given she is blind). The only minor negative I would point out is that Mum sometimes has to get acquainted with new carers that she is not familiar with as staff change at Kare Plus.

Kare Plus could not have looked after my dad any better. They were kind, helpful, compassionate and met all of his care needs while maintaining his dignity and respect at all times. In addition to this, they were there for me. Nothing was too much trouble and always were respectful and showed kindness. Even the out-of-hours checked in with me during my dad’s final days. I would not recommend Kare Plus highly enough.

We have had a very good service from the Kare Plus team from all contacts and carers. My daughter responds well to the carers and enjoys her time with them. Carers are usually on time, unless delayed by a previous client. They listen to instructions and waste no time getting to work on arrival. They will do that little bit extra without asking which helps me a lot.

I am new to care provision for my husband so was in the dark about what exactly to expect! My assigned carer arrived early and cheerfully introduced herself. She was relaxed and smiley and respectfully asked to be shown around the ground floor rooms she would be using so that she had an understanding of the layout. Her manner was totally professional. She offered to give him his lunch to relieve me of the task and assured me she would find plenty to do while sitting with him and was even happy to watch TV with him. I couldn't have asked for a nicer, kinder person to be in the house... and she had even washed up the lunch things for me when I got home! What a treat! Receiving that level of professional care meant that I could go out for the afternoon knowing that my husband was being cared for completely.

The support for my mother has been invaluable. Having a friendly face visiting once a day enables us to be reassured that all is well and also enables Mum to maintain as much independence as she wants.
Any requests for additional support have been dealt with in a kind, caring and efficient way and we feel no question is a silly question. Mum has been supported to attend medical appointments and enjoys having the company.

Thank you to the manager and all the team for your help and kindness.

My sister has dementia but is still (currently) able to live in her own home with support from the carers. As I live 180 miles away, this is a great help to me. I know she is well supported and that Kare Plus will contact me if they have any concerns - which is priceless!

All the carers are polite and treat me with dignity. If they have been before, they know my routine, but if new, they let me explain what I require, all with no rush.

We usually have coffee/tea and a chat afterwards.

My disabled dad stayed with us whilst my mum was having an operation. The carers came in daily to help Dad with his intimate care and get dressed/undressed etc. They were so caring with him. He looked forward to seeing them every day and they were very professional, thoughtful and kind. Having carers allows my dad to preserve his dignity and gave us the confidence his needs were met whilst he was staying with us. We are so grateful to the team and the Field Care Coordinator was amazing at overseeing it all. We will definitely use Kare Plus again and would highly recommend to anyone needing carers for loved ones.

We are extremely happy with the wonderful care from Kare Plus. Everyone is so helpful, considerate and kind. My mother of 97 loves her daily visits and there is always plenty of time for a friendly chat.
On a more practical note, the administration is impeccable and there is never a problem with a last minute change of schedule.

I will be very happy to highly recommend Kare Plus to anyone who is looking for quality carers.

Absolutely amazing service with very professional, caring attitude and a very personal touch to our daughter's care needs. This company is by far the best we have used. The staff are friendly and helpful and I know they have my and her interests at heart.
They also offer good value for money compared to other companies.

We greatly appreciate the same team of carers as this provides reassurance for my daughter and continuity. She has established lovely relationships with the carers and is well looked after. The carers are always willing to go the extra mile and we cannot fault the care she is receiving. The Head Office team and the out-of-hours team are always very prompt in notifying us of any concerns or changes.

Founded in 2016

From Humble Beginnings to Leading With Purpose

I began this journey in 2016 with a simple vision: to raise the bar in care. Alongside my Recruitment Manager at the time, Matt Stacey, we started as a team of two. Today, that vision has grown into a thriving family of over 160 dedicated professionals — including 60+ care staff and a passionate office team — supporting over 100 clients and settings across Kent.

Rooted in Kent, Driven by Values

Now proudly operating as Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd, we’ve become more than just a care provider — we're a trusted part of the community in Ashford, Folkestone, and surrounding areas. With over 100 glowing reviews on Homecare.co.uk, we’ve consistently been recognised as one of the region’s highest-rated providers, and we continue to build on that reputation every day.

Professional Standards, Personal Commitment

This business has always been personal. Providing great care isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are. Every service we deliver is grounded in our core values of respect, dignity, and compassion. Ultima Care is not just a company name; it’s a promise to every person and family we support.

Thank you for being part of the journey so far — we’re only just getting started.

Shaping Care. Driving Standards. Leading Growth.

I joined the team in 2019 as Recruitment Manager and quickly evolved my role by qualifying as a trainer and launching my own care training business — which I later brought into the company to strengthen in-house development. Since then, I've progressed into the role of Chief Operating Officer and Registered Manager, helping lead the business through a period of rapid growth and transformation.

Having completed my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, my focus today is firmly on operational excellence, workforce development, and preparing Ultima Care for its next chapter — including the expansion into complex care and clinical services.

I’m deeply committed to raising standards across every area of the business, ensuring our care is not only compliant, but compassionate, consistent, and driven by values.

Outside of work, I enjoy quality time with my family, long walks, and staying active through my passion for rugby.

Precision. People. Purpose.

I joined the team in 2017 and have grown with the business ever since. Over the years, I’ve supported everything from bookings to client account management, with a strong focus on delivering person-centred, efficient financial support across all the services we provide.

Now proudly serving as Chief Financial Officer at Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd, I work closely with our Director on the day-to-day financial operations, long-term planning, and sustainability of the business. My background in the insurance industry — where I spent 16 years specialising in subsidence claims as a Recovery Claims Consultant — has given me a meticulous eye for detail and a strong foundation in complex case management.

After relocating from London to Folkestone in 2015, I discovered a rewarding new path in the care sector and have never looked back.

Outside of work, I love socialising with friends and spending quality time with my family — with regular trips back to London to catch up with loved ones.

40+ Years of Compassion, Leadership & Dedication in Care

With over four decades of experience in health and social care, I’ve dedicated my life to supporting others. My journey has included roles as a Dental Nurse, Carer in both residential and nursing homes, and most notably, 14 years as the Manager of a specialist Dementia Unit.

I hold an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care, and throughout my career, I’ve taken a hands-on, people-first approach — something I now bring to my role as Patient Services Lead at Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd. Whether it’s supporting clients, families, or our care team, I believe that delivering outstanding care starts with genuine human connection.

I’m proud to be part of a business that truly puts care and community at its core.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mum of four and grandmother of six. I love cooking, reading, and spending time with my family — and I never miss a Spurs match!

Finding the Right People, For the Right Kind of Care

I’ve worked in the care industry for many years, primarily within dementia care homes — a role that brought both challenge and deep reward. As a Healthcare Assistant working under qualified nursing staff, I developed a strong foundation in hands-on care and person-centred support.

In 2019, I transitioned into recruitment and joined what is now Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd. My role covers end-to-end recruitment, compliance, and onboarding — from writing job descriptions and adverts to interviewing, selecting, and welcoming skilled carers into our growing team. I take pride in maintaining close relationships with both new and long-standing care staff, ensuring they feel valued and supported from day one.

I also completed formal recruitment consultant training and became a certified Physical Intervention Trainer in 2019, allowing me to deliver key training sessions to both homecare and agency staff.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to two wonderful children aged 17 and 12, and we share our home with a lovable little pug who keeps us smiling. I’m very much a people person — I love family time, discovering beautiful places, and meeting new faces wherever I go.

Delivering Care with Heart Since 2018

I joined Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd (formerly Kare Plus) in April 2018, shortly after raising my fifth daughter, who was just two and a half at the time. Before entering the care sector, I trained in beauty therapy and ran my own mobile beauty business — but it was the opportunity to care for others that truly sparked a new and lasting passion.

Since then, I’ve never looked back. I love what I do — especially getting to know the people I support. Whether it's helping with daily routines or simply offering companionship, I find it incredibly rewarding to leave someone smiling and feeling a little brighter after each visit.

When I have some free time, I enjoy sewing and crafts (I’ve even made clothes for my youngest!), reading, and, most of all, spending quality time with my family.

From Events to Care — Organising with Heart and Purpose

I joined the team in October 2019 as a newcomer to the healthcare sector, transitioning from a 12-year career in the events industry where I managed everything from global corporate conferences to local private functions. While the industries may seem worlds apart, the core skills of organisation, communication, and staying calm under pressure have proven invaluable in my role today.

Originally joining as Bookings Manager, I quickly developed a strong understanding of our care operations and the vital role we play in the community. Now, as Care Coordinator for Ashford and Canterbury, I manage our care workers' schedules, support client relationships, and help ensure we consistently deliver safe, person-centred care.

Building and maintaining strong connections with both staff and clients is something I take real pride in — I believe it’s the foundation of what makes our service so trusted.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and our young son Oscar, going on adventures and making memories with friends and family.

Natalie Blundell Job Title: Area Coordinator Joined: 2025
Natalie Blundell

Leading with Experience, Coordinating with Compassion

Natalie joined Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd in February 2025, bringing with her over a decade of hands-on experience in adult social care. With a strong background in supporting individuals with complex needs and learning disabilities, she has progressed from frontline roles into leadership — and now plays a key part in coordinating our services across the Folkestone, Dover and Ashford regions.

In her role, Natalie oversees care planning, staff recruitment, training, and ongoing service delivery. She’s committed to ensuring every individual we support receives consistent, high-quality, person-centred care.

Passionate about community impact and positive outcomes, Natalie brings both compassion and clarity to her leadership — and is a valued part of our growing team.
