My mother is essentially housebound and is very pleased with the service provided and likes all her carers. The team help out with her general chores and personal comfort and she says she feels well cared for. I live 100 miles away and feel Kare Plus have made my life a lot easier by not having to provide constant 'remote' care. When I visit mum I can spend time with her rather than doing her chores. A friendly team and willing to undertake any relevant task. I agree with mum, I feel they are doing a good job.

The care team from Kare Plus provided superb care and went over and above the call of duty to ensure that my mother was well looked after during her illness. They tailored the support to meet her precise requirements rather than delivering a standardised offering. The carers also sought to develop a real relationship with my mother so that she came to regard them as trusted friends rather than service providers. The staff developed a really good relationship with my brother and me and communicated very effectively so that together we could ensure my mother was as comfortable as possible. I would unhesitatingly recommend Kare Plus Ashford to anyone needing trusted care for a family member.

Kare Plus provides a very high standard of care to my husband, ensuring not only that he is clean and moisturised, but also, they take time to talk to us both. There is always the most wonderful interactions between the carers and they leave my husband happy and cheerful. I could not cope without them.

Kare Plus is currently providing care to my father and mother. The team are amazing and the level of care is at a very high standard. Knowing the team are going in every day looking after my parents is such a help, especially as the team look after them so well. Nothing is too much trouble. My mother has recently had an unexpected time in hospital and Kare Plus reacted very quickly to my calls of help to look after my father especially at such short notice. They really have gone above and beyond the call of duty and I can't thank them enough for their support. Professional, so helpful, caring and supportive - I would 100% recommend Kare Plus as a care provider.

For the last two weeks of my wife's life, the carers were excellent. Very attentive, always on time. Friendly, caring and very professional. They did everything we requested and didn't just interact with my wife. The family were also interacted with too. Felt that her end of life care was second to none. Thanks to everyone involved, would highly recommend.

I cannot praise the Ashford Team highly enough. They have worked with us to create a bespoke care package that evolves in response to Mum’s needs. The impact of their support has been transformative and vital in enabling Mum to stay living at home. The level of professionalism is high, with clear and regular communication and well written care plans. The managers are responsive and very ‘hands on’ obviously bringing with them an extensive wealth of experience, with thoughtful and innovative ways to solve problems.
Initially resistant to being supported or having anyone in her home to help, Mum now looks forward to their visits and tells me they are “all so lovely” and “it’s great to have some company”. I live at a distance so it’s important to me that Mum has social interaction and stimulation. The team really interact with Mum and they have a laugh together which is so important as she has a great sense of humour that needs to be exercised too!

A definite A+ for Kare Plus Ashford.

Office staff are understanding when you need to speak to them about anything that worries you.
Keep up the good work and the care you all give.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

Founded in 2016

From Humble Beginnings to Leading With Purpose

I began this journey in 2016 with a simple vision: to raise the bar in care. Alongside my Recruitment Manager at the time, Matt Stacey, we started as a team of two. Today, that vision has grown into a thriving family of over 160 dedicated professionals — including 60+ care staff and a passionate office team — supporting over 100 clients and settings across Kent.

Rooted in Kent, Driven by Values

Now proudly operating as Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd, we’ve become more than just a care provider — we're a trusted part of the community in Ashford, Folkestone, and surrounding areas. With over 100 glowing reviews on Homecare.co.uk, we’ve consistently been recognised as one of the region’s highest-rated providers, and we continue to build on that reputation every day.

Professional Standards, Personal Commitment

This business has always been personal. Providing great care isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are. Every service we deliver is grounded in our core values of respect, dignity, and compassion. Ultima Care is not just a company name; it’s a promise to every person and family we support.

Thank you for being part of the journey so far — we’re only just getting started.

Shaping Care. Driving Standards. Leading Growth.

I joined the team in 2019 as Recruitment Manager and quickly evolved my role by qualifying as a trainer and launching my own care training business — which I later brought into the company to strengthen in-house development. Since then, I've progressed into the role of Chief Operating Officer and Registered Manager, helping lead the business through a period of rapid growth and transformation.

Having completed my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, my focus today is firmly on operational excellence, workforce development, and preparing Ultima Care for its next chapter — including the expansion into complex care and clinical services.

I’m deeply committed to raising standards across every area of the business, ensuring our care is not only compliant, but compassionate, consistent, and driven by values.

Outside of work, I enjoy quality time with my family, long walks, and staying active through my passion for rugby.

Precision. People. Purpose.

I joined the team in 2017 and have grown with the business ever since. Over the years, I’ve supported everything from bookings to client account management, with a strong focus on delivering person-centred, efficient financial support across all the services we provide.

Now proudly serving as Chief Financial Officer at Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd, I work closely with our Director on the day-to-day financial operations, long-term planning, and sustainability of the business. My background in the insurance industry — where I spent 16 years specialising in subsidence claims as a Recovery Claims Consultant — has given me a meticulous eye for detail and a strong foundation in complex case management.

After relocating from London to Folkestone in 2015, I discovered a rewarding new path in the care sector and have never looked back.

Outside of work, I love socialising with friends and spending quality time with my family — with regular trips back to London to catch up with loved ones.

40+ Years of Compassion, Leadership & Dedication in Care

With over four decades of experience in health and social care, I’ve dedicated my life to supporting others. My journey has included roles as a Dental Nurse, Carer in both residential and nursing homes, and most notably, 14 years as the Manager of a specialist Dementia Unit.

I hold an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care, and throughout my career, I’ve taken a hands-on, people-first approach — something I now bring to my role as Patient Services Lead at Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd. Whether it’s supporting clients, families, or our care team, I believe that delivering outstanding care starts with genuine human connection.

I’m proud to be part of a business that truly puts care and community at its core.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mum of four and grandmother of six. I love cooking, reading, and spending time with my family — and I never miss a Spurs match!

Finding the Right People, For the Right Kind of Care

I’ve worked in the care industry for many years, primarily within dementia care homes — a role that brought both challenge and deep reward. As a Healthcare Assistant working under qualified nursing staff, I developed a strong foundation in hands-on care and person-centred support.

In 2019, I transitioned into recruitment and joined what is now Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd. My role covers end-to-end recruitment, compliance, and onboarding — from writing job descriptions and adverts to interviewing, selecting, and welcoming skilled carers into our growing team. I take pride in maintaining close relationships with both new and long-standing care staff, ensuring they feel valued and supported from day one.

I also completed formal recruitment consultant training and became a certified Physical Intervention Trainer in 2019, allowing me to deliver key training sessions to both homecare and agency staff.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to two wonderful children aged 17 and 12, and we share our home with a lovable little pug who keeps us smiling. I’m very much a people person — I love family time, discovering beautiful places, and meeting new faces wherever I go.

Delivering Care with Heart Since 2018

I joined Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd (formerly Kare Plus) in April 2018, shortly after raising my fifth daughter, who was just two and a half at the time. Before entering the care sector, I trained in beauty therapy and ran my own mobile beauty business — but it was the opportunity to care for others that truly sparked a new and lasting passion.

Since then, I’ve never looked back. I love what I do — especially getting to know the people I support. Whether it's helping with daily routines or simply offering companionship, I find it incredibly rewarding to leave someone smiling and feeling a little brighter after each visit.

When I have some free time, I enjoy sewing and crafts (I’ve even made clothes for my youngest!), reading, and, most of all, spending quality time with my family.

From Events to Care — Organising with Heart and Purpose

I joined the team in October 2019 as a newcomer to the healthcare sector, transitioning from a 12-year career in the events industry where I managed everything from global corporate conferences to local private functions. While the industries may seem worlds apart, the core skills of organisation, communication, and staying calm under pressure have proven invaluable in my role today.

Originally joining as Bookings Manager, I quickly developed a strong understanding of our care operations and the vital role we play in the community. Now, as Care Coordinator for Ashford and Canterbury, I manage our care workers' schedules, support client relationships, and help ensure we consistently deliver safe, person-centred care.

Building and maintaining strong connections with both staff and clients is something I take real pride in — I believe it’s the foundation of what makes our service so trusted.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and our young son Oscar, going on adventures and making memories with friends and family.

Natalie Blundell Job Title: Area Coordinator Joined: 2025
Natalie Blundell

Leading with Experience, Coordinating with Compassion

Natalie joined Ultima Care & Nursing Ltd in February 2025, bringing with her over a decade of hands-on experience in adult social care. With a strong background in supporting individuals with complex needs and learning disabilities, she has progressed from frontline roles into leadership — and now plays a key part in coordinating our services across the Folkestone, Dover and Ashford regions.

In her role, Natalie oversees care planning, staff recruitment, training, and ongoing service delivery. She’s committed to ensuring every individual we support receives consistent, high-quality, person-centred care.

Passionate about community impact and positive outcomes, Natalie brings both compassion and clarity to her leadership — and is a valued part of our growing team.
