Overall Experience

My father died unexpectedly of a stroke and it became clear that he had been ‘covering’ for mum’s early signs of dementia. EDS responded quickly to our enquiry, made an assessment and scheduled visits immediately. In the initial stages, mum was reluctant to accept help but the carers established a great relationship and it helped that the same people were there on a regular basis. We had a weekly timetable of visits - it was good to know who was going in and when so we gradually got to know the staff. It was particularly nice that carers took the time simply to chat to mum rather than rushing in and out. We had regular feedback on how things were going and if they’d spotted problems.

As mum’s needs increased additional visits were scheduled in flexibly. EDS made a huge difference to mum’s quality of life over about 2 years. She’s now in residential care but without EDS that would have happened at least a year earlier. I would thoroughly recommend EDS.

Thank you so much for this lovely review- it's so reassuring to hear that EDS made such a great difference to your mum's time at home, and could develop a great relationship with her to the point where she was accepting of help.
