The services provided by A-Star have been transformative for my mum who has Alzheimer’s disease. Knowing that they come in to look after mum so well is so comforting as I live some distance away. They have matched mum very well to one or two key carers who take mum out and encourage her to eat well. Her current main carer is so enthusiastic and updates me regularly on mum’s progress. The office is open every day for telephone enquiries. Nothing is a problem. The office manager is always available. The price is very reasonable and well worth it. I would thoroughly recommend this company to anyone based on about 8 months' experience.

Having changed my wife’s care provider to A Star Services 1st of July 2021, we were apprehensive, to say the least, but no worries on that score as everything went well. I would recommend this company to anyone that was thinking of changing their carers. The staff treat my wife and me with dignity and care and friendliness.

We are extremely pleased with the care and professionalism of A Star Care Services. They have always been prompt which is a necessity for Dad in the morning. My parents were reluctant to receive help from carers but this soon changed when A Star commenced. Nothing is too much for them and they seem to go beyond our expectations and able to allay any anxieties my parents had. They are hard-working and respectful to my father’s needs. The care plan was very comprehensive and thoughtful. I couldn’t rate them highly enough.

A Star Care have been looking after my dad for one year, and he is very happy and comfortable with the carers who always have a positive attitude and caring nature. The agency has always been flexible to meet my dad's needs and seeing management doing care calls is impressive as they are able to give staff and me any advice they feel can help my dad.

Switching to A Star Care Services has been a massive game-changer for my mum and our whole family. They have really taken the time to understand Mum's needs and have been proactive in ensuring they are met - going above and beyond our expectations on many occasions. The managers check in on her regularly and have designed a bespoke meal plan in careful consideration of her diabetes, which the carers freshly prepare for her. They have really helped to settle Mum's anxiety and prevent recurring problems from happening, meaning we are no longer having to make regular trips to the hospital and are confident that she is safe and happy to continue living in her own home. The carers also help by e.g. taking Mum in her wheelchair to medical appointments, can pop to the shops if she needs anything urgently and have even been able to bring her to important family events. A Star are invaluable - they really do care, never rush and always make sure Mum is happy. We can't thank them enough!

I have used A-Star Care Services for almost nine months and my wife and I are happy with the level and quality of care provided by the carers employed by this agency. However, the timing of calls could be more convenient to the receiver as my donor has a habit of waking up early in the morning and going to bed early in the evening; I guess being a small friendly team it makes it impossible to suit everyone. Otherwise, the team has been proactive and giving me updates as and when necessary and flagging up issues as they arise. This was not the case with the previous agency.

Whilst some carers were caring, others were not. There was no consistency. And we paid for half-hour visits, carers were hardly ever there for that long. Definite discrepancies as to what each carer would do for my mother.

A Star have been caring for my husband for 2 months since he returned from full-time residential care. The prospect of having him home again, although exciting, was also daunting. All staff from A Star have been amazing. They have been professional, kind and courteous to my husband, who has end-stage early-onset Alzheimer's disease, and have been a constant source of support to me without being intrusive in our home. I would happily recommend this friendly team to anyone in the same situation as us.

My grandad has received fantastic care over the last year. The staff are punctual, reliable, flexible and respectful towards my grandad's needs.

The management are hands-on with the care and will liaise with me if they believe he could benefit in other areas of care being provided.

A Star Care Services know that the best help they can provide comes from listening carefully to what their client really wants from them.
In my brother's case, the whole team understands that it is independence and that has become the core of the care they provide.
It is a totally bespoke package that enables my brother, who is severely disabled, to live his life his way as safely as he can. Just living independently in his own home is a risk for him but, with careful management and well-trained staff, they have enabled him to take more responsibility for the way he spends his time. He is able to stay up late. He does not have anyone telling him it's time for bed! They take excellent care of his physical needs and show their expertise by introducing the best equipment available e.g. his very effective new shower chair has enabled him to enjoy the relaxation of a good shower secure in the knowledge that he will not be in pain from an ill-fitting seat.

They really think A Star they care.

My mum suffers from dementia. The staff have always been very considerate and caring. There are days when mum refuses care. The staff always make sure that mum is treated with respect and they ensure her care needs are met. The manager is available to discuss any changes to the care package. The agency does the best service for clients and the family.

Honest, always keep me updated on my father's progress and with regards to his care. All their documents on processes are very professional and quality. Their staff use the latest technology for their staff rotas. The staff are always smart with clean uniforms. The care staff always put my father's care needs first as their top number one priority. On the rare occasion if the care staff are delayed on route, I always receive an update.

A Star have been caring for my father for the past 2 and a half years. They have helped to maintain Dad in his own home and have shown great kindness and professionalism, aiding him with personal care and preparation of meals. They are always contactable if needed and flexible. I would recommend them as a care service.

After graduating from university, I spent three years working in a corporate environment before realising it was not the right career path for me. I wanted to work in a role that was truly rewarding and made a meaningful difference to people’s lives, which led me to a career in care.

Over the past eight years, I have developed a strong understanding of the importance of delivering high-quality, person-centred care. I firmly believe that the best way to ensure high standards is by working alongside care staff and remaining actively involved in service delivery. This is why I continue to work within the community, supporting both clients and carers, to ensure the care we provide meets the highest standards and that everyone involved feels supported and valued.

When I first entered the care sector, I recognised the importance of understanding not only compassionate care but also the practical and operational aspects of delivering it effectively. To strengthen my knowledge and skills, I enrolled in and successfully completed a Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care within one year, which has helped shape my professional approach and leadership within the sector.

Before entering the care sector, I worked as a wedding organiser and progressed into a Co?ordinator role. This experience gave me a strong foundation in organisation, time management, and attention to detail—skills that are essential in ensuring client calls are consistently met and delivered at the agreed times.

I am now the Registered Manager, and I take pride in leading a service that is safe, reliable, and truly person-centred. I remain actively involved in the community and continue to provide care, as I value maintaining direct contact with our clients and gaining first-hand insight into how they are progressing. This helps me monitor the quality of care being delivered, support my staff effectively, and ensure our service continues to meet individual needs and high standards.

I am currently working towards my Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care and have successfully completed my Train the Trainer qualification across all core topics required within the care setting. I am always striving to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients and continuously look for ways to improve the service, strengthen staff development, and ensure every client receives the highest standard of care and support.
