Overall our experience has been good and it is now over 20 months since my wife needed carers following her stroke. We have never been let down and when they (At Home) have had an emergency they have always addressed the problem, usually by getting office based staff to step in. My only observation is that requested phone calls have not always have been done. Also changing the timing schedule has not always been advised.

At Home Care is without a doubt the finest care provider we have had experiences with. From the first interaction when the assessment of needs was made, it was clear that there was genuine empathy and a sincere intention to provide the best level of care possible. Every single carer to date has not only arrived in a timely fashion and performed all of their duties consistently well, but has stayed for the entire duration of their call out, been friendly, kind and empathetic, going out of their way to provide the help requested or required. On a couple of occasions where a medical intervention was required, the carers responded professionally and immediately, notified me directly and kept me updated. They have significantly reduced my concerns with regard to my mother's ability to live independently whilst still receiving the support she needs. In early May our usual carer didn't come, and a different person arrived. I wasn't happy and my husband was puzzled. I should have been told and could have prepared my husband for a different person.
Then moving on to the separate Personal Care package. The male carer who came was wonderful and connected with my husband immediately. On the 2nd visit, he made a significant difference and managed to wash my husband's arms, legs, feet, and chest fabulous! I was totally surprised and thrilled. However, on the next visit, a different carer arrived, with a different approach, my husband had no idea who had turned up! And he was 15 minutes late. My husband didn't connect at all. I should have been told it would be someone different because I could have prepared my husband. Hence my review is 4 stars instead.

Overall a very good service. They were able to provide solutions for the manifold situations which cropped up. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my care over the years, I have needed the support. I have found everybody very friendly, accommodating and flexible when I have needed to change arrangements.

I have been with At Home Care for nearly six years, starting as a Care & Support Worker and progressing to my current role as Operations Manager.
Along the way, I advanced through roles as a Field Care Supervisor, Deputy Care Manager, and Registered Care Manager. The career opportunities and support at At Home Care have been incredible, allowing me to grow both professionally and personally.

Ash has been immersed in the care sector since 2012, building and leading three successful domiciliary care agencies across Hertfordshire. With over a decade of hands-on experience, he has developed a deep understanding of what high-quality, person-centred care truly means.
