At 21:15 on Friday night (04/12/20), the carer arrived for her evening duty. She was concerned at my wife's serious loss of balance and decided to request an ambulance. The carer was told that there were "more important cases to be dealt with", and there was no ambulance available for several hours. The carer refused to accept this and called again. She was eventually advised the paramedics be called. After a series of tests, they found my wife had a faulty heart condition and took her straight to hospital where she stayed overnight. At around 08:30 Saturday morning, my wife was taken to another hospital from where a surgeon telephoned me to say he was going to operate immediately and give my wife a pacemaker. He agreed her carer's diligence had saved her life! The diagnosis was:- Complete heart block-emergency dual-chamber pacemaker.
Many thanks for your kind words, John.
Kind Regards,
Extremely happy with this company, they go above and beyond for my friend making sure she is well looked after. They always make sure everything is tidy before leaving and that my friend doesn't need anything else before they go.
Kind Regards.
My mother is the service user. Although I have not been present when the carers have attended my parents home, they have expressed their appreciation of the level of care my mother has received. On a couple of occasions, the carer that visited, had a concern about my mother's skin on her lower leg and foot this was reported back to the office who then contacted her GP and an appointment was made, and Mum was seen. I feel confident that when there are concerns this is acted upon giving me confidence in the service provided. My father says the carers are always very cheerful.
The lady who is the manager at the Hemel Hempstead office. We had an incident at my brother's flat. The help that my brother and my wife and I received was very professional and caring to all of us. Also, a young carer was also very kind and caring. My wife and I cannot praise them enough for all the help and guidance they have given to us. We would recommend 100%.
Yesterday my mum rang me in tears, not unexpected you might think but she shared with me something truly wonderful.
Having heard that George had died of cancer and knowing just how much the dog meant to my mum, her regular carers and other members of staff decided upon a genuine act of kindness.
The manager told Mum that a fund had been given to have George cremated and his remains kept in a special casket.
My mum is a chatterbox, her carers will tell you but this beautiful gift just left her speechless.
Mum has always received wonderful care from the team but this was above and beyond any formal list of care requirements.
It was an act of simple human compassion, and I would say, love too. Not just from those who knew my mum and George but from the manager and the other generous staff who contributed too.
Well done!
All this has been made possible by the stewardship of the Care Manager who I have watched build up this world-class team.
Compassion, respect for dignity and commitment are now a natural expectation.
Very happy with the service. Very caring and supportive to my Mum and the rest of the family. Couldn't be happier.
My girls that come and see me are fantastic. My legs are fantastic. They are first class.
My carers are lovely and help me always.
Very polite and very nice the carers that come and support with personal care.
Regards,
They have always been able to manage my needs. From the 1st call and assessment they've always understood what my requirements were and have always been able to accommodate any changes i have required over time.
Thank you for the positive feedback. We aim to maintain these high standards.
Very friendly service.
Enjoy carers coming to visit me and support me in the home.
I highly recommend. We get very good care from all of the carers that visit Mum, and they all are very kind.
Thank you.
I enjoy my carers visiting me twice a day, and to make sure that I'm safe. They support me with the tasks in my home that I cannot do myself.
Thank you for your lovely comments.
The team have provided excellent support for my mum over the last few months. The carers have gone the extra mile to entertain and help her. The management team have also been very responsive and supportive. Thanks to all.
Many Thanks, Alison.
My sister and I are happy with the care provided. Our main concern remains the importance of continuity. I understand you have to deal with staffing problems from time to time but my sister needs to be in familiar surroundings with people she knows and feels she can trust.
They provide very well structured and sophisticated service, excellent management. It is dedicated to meet the needs of elderly people and their relatives. They deliver a high level value proposition for the local community in their region.
This company has dealt well with my father's difficult behaviour and has shown patience and compassion.
Very good service.
Thank you.

Meet the Team (2)
Ash has been immersed in the care sector since 2012, building and leading three successful domiciliary care agencies across Hertfordshire. With over a decade of hands-on experience, he has developed a deep understanding of what high-quality, person-centred care truly means. His journey into care was born from a genuine compassion for others and a strong desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
Ash believes that carers are the heart of any great care service. He is deeply committed to empowering and supporting his teams to ensure they can deliver care with compassion, consistency, and professionalism. Under his leadership, fairness, respect, and dignity are not just principles – they are daily practices.
His passion is fuelled by the stories he hears from those receiving care. “One person caring about another represents life’s greatest value,” he says. “Nothing moves me more than hearing how we’ve helped improve someone’s quality of life, given them back their confidence, or simply enabled them to stay in the home they love, surrounded by familiarity and comfort.”
Ash’s commitment goes beyond business – it’s a personal mission to raise standards in the care sector and to create services where both clients and carers feel valued, respected, and heard.
I have been with At Home Care for nearly six years, starting as a Care & Support Worker and progressing to my current role as Operations Manager.
Along the way, I advanced through roles as a Field Care Supervisor, Deputy Care Manager, and Registered Care Manager. The career opportunities and support at At Home Care have been incredible, allowing me to grow both professionally and personally.
I am deeply passionate about providing more than just care, it’s about making a real difference in the lives of our clients.
My goal is to create a family-like atmosphere where every individual feels valued, respected, and supported.
Seeing the positive impact we make every day motivates me to ensure that the highest standards of care are consistently delivered.
