Alcedo carers have made a huge difference to our family life, both before, during and after my 16 year old son's life changing operation. The team have supported him with compassion, kindness and good humour. Structured activities have helped boost his physical wellbeing and confidence, and have contributed to a measurable increase in social communication skills. They are all amazing and we appreciate them so much.

We have carers attending to take care of my granddad, they are very supportive, caring and lovely. Care staff are well trained and communicate well with us as a family. Nothing is too much trouble. The management team are very efficient and supportive of any changes or adaptations.

The care we have for 12 hours a day is excellent. The care workers do all personal and community care with me. I also have hobbies and my dietary needs. My dog is also in my care plan for walks and feeding. Also, household duties, washing my clothes.

Dad has been receiving support from Alcedo for a number or years, over which time his care needs have changed, often increased. Sometimes these changes have been temporary, as he has become ill or there has been a period of recovery from an illness, but of course there has been a general age related increase in his dependency upon others.
Alcedo staff have not only responded quickly to these changes but very often been the people to identify issues at an early stage and to coordinate the multi-disciplinary team's response. This has been a lifeline for us, at times when we have had busy family and work schedules to manage as well as overseeing dad's dad to day needs.

Often issues have been resolved before we have been aware of them, the same day. Alcedo have known exactly who to contact, under what circumstances and what the best and safest care package for dad should look like. They have responded to emergency situations as well as offering flexibility in their day to day routines to

My experience with Alcedo is mainly good. Mum gets treated really well the carers that she gets are great if we ever have a problem the office are all great and sort out our problem. There are one or two carers that Mum loves and really looks forward to them coming as it brightens up her day.

Friendly carer, interacted well with mum. Asked her what she wanted and where she would like her medication. Mum supported through a shower, also helped her to dress and come downstairs, made tea and toast. Cheerful manner, emptyed bathroom bin.

Would not recommend this agency to anyone looking for care. They do not do what they claim on their website, they treat the family of the service users with no respect, they ignore phone calls, emails and all other forms of communication. The staff provided do not have the specific training for the needs of the service user and they employ anyone with half a transferable skill and stick them onto complex packages without further training. They don't follow policies and procedures and more worryingly don't have policies for a lot of things that should be standard. The management lack health and social care experience, office staff are practically children and don't listen to word you say. That seems to a be a running theme throughout the agency. Not listening. They can't even get the users disabilities on their care plans right and claim to have no idea about major needs of their clients.

And they will lie to cover themselves when you pull them on their failings! Shocking quality.

My husband has complex needs so was initially anxious about a new care package. Have only had carers for a few weeks but must say we are extremely happy with the care and attention given. Have seen the same carers (3) since the beginning so we are happy with this continuation of care and feel that they are getting to know my husband well. All are pleasant people, attentive and prompt.

I don't live near my mum so needed carers to keep an eye on her, Alcedo has provided the care and necessary confidence in looking after my mum that I needed. Although Mum doesn't need a lot of care at present we know she will in the future with her life-limiting illness, the companionship and care they already show Mum has been fantastic. The management creates a caring, inclusive environment for both the client and family and is very easy to deal with.

I do not live in the UK and I rely on the detailed, twice daily reports filled out by the Alcedo team to monitor the wellness of my father. The carers, and our primary contact, are so thoughtful and kind to my father (who can be tricky) and they make sure that my sister and I are aware of everything that he does, or needs.
After he fell in September I spent some time here to keep an eye on his healing and so was lucky enough to watch the team at work: the care is amazing and he has formed a really strong bond with many of the carers.

I would be more than happy to recommend Alcedo Southport to anyone: they really do actually 'care' about their clients.

The care my granddaughter receives from Alcedo Care is excellent. All the staff are very polite and caring. Hi! My name is Laura Harrison, and I am the Operations Manager for Alcedo Care at the Southport Branch. I come from Liverpool and have spent a large amount of my working life in the Fitness and Security industry. After deciding I wanted to take a step away from the security sector, I decided to try my hand in the Care Industry.

After a long discussion, I could not have been more pleased to become a part of the Alcedo family!

It was very clear that Alcedo stood out from the rest, and now I will be completing my Level 5 to aid my progression in my new career! I cannot wait to gain more knowledge and experience within the Care Industry and see where it leads!

Hi, my name is Clint, I joined Alcedo Care due to the lockdown. I have spent most of my life working in hospitality, from managing Hotels to restaurants, so this was a big change for me coming into the healthcare industry, but I have really enjoyed the challenges and new opportunities this has given me and I wish I had made this transition sooner.

My name is Hayley and I have worked in the care industry for 11 years. I started my career as a Care Assistant in a local nursing home. I was looking after many clients with end-stage dementia and it was in this home that I learnt a lot of my core care skills that I still use today.
