Homecare Unique Ltd is based in Maidstone. The family business was founded in 2013 by a registered nurse and a qualified substance misuse practitioner to provide care services to people in and around Kent.

Homecare Unique provides domiciliary care to people who still live in their own homes but require additional support with personal care, household tasks such as shopping or anything else that allows people to maintain their independence.

It also offers a 24 hour day and night sitting service to give family members or a daily carer a break.

Overall Experience
The service was very friendly, showed care to Mum and also to me showing interest in the family.
They brighten the Mum's day and some of the staff really stood out positively, making Mum smile most times,
They were professional and kind.
They were polite and I can't think of anything to change with them.
We felt, Mum was in safe hands, they were always letting her know what they were doing which was good.
They showed empathy.
They were generally great.
They arrived on time.
I spoke to management and was very helpful.

Homecare Unique looked after my father for 3 weeks before he decided it was necessary for him to have 24-hour end of life care. The carer quickly built a relationship with my Dad who was very unsure about have carers. He said 'she'd do anything for me'. They helped dad wash/shower, dress and also made sure he had a drink and was set up for the day as well as making his bed. We were reassured that he was being looked after and when he went into a nursing home he said he would miss the carer.
Communication with the office was excellent and I particularly appreciated the call asking if he had settled into the nursing home.

Overall Experience

Homecare Unique looked after my mother last year until she was admitted to hospital in December and then into a nursing home. The office staff were always pleasant and very helpful when I phoned them. The carers attending my mother twice a day were lovely and friendly and very professional. Unfortunately, she had a few falls but when the carer found her on the floor they called us and an ambulance and made her comfortable until we arrived. My mother looked forward to them coming and chatting to her.

The staff were very caring, attended to my wife' s need. The were very helpful. They understood her needs and managed her very well.
Will definitely recommend them to anyone.
Everytime I ring out of hours, I get a response.

Homecare Unique Ltd looked after my mum until she passed away recently. The carers were very good, pleasant, knowledgeable in what they were doing, professional and friendly.
I can't think of anything for them to improve on.
My mum was properly cared for, she would have a chat with them and she loved the carers.
My mum prefers people much older, close to her age looking after her personal care but unfortunately, people around her age don't do care.
She was happy with all the carers and her dignity and privacy were protected. She was respected and the management was easy to contact and discuss with.

They were excellent carers. It was important that I kept my husband at home and it was the lovely carers and other people that made that possible right to the end.
They were professional in all ways, protected my husband's dignity, were friendly, you couldn't have wanted anything better.
There were aware of my husband's needs and were great at providing for and meeting the needs.
They made him very comfortable until the last minutes. Both the male and female staff were great and made things easy for us as a family. There was nothing to improve on, they understood my needs as well.

The management was very good, polite and they all knew their jobs.

Beware of using this company. The girls are mostly fantastic. The exception is the office manager who is extremely rude both on the telephone and, having spoken to many of the girls who come in three times per day for myself, extremely rude to them.

My calls for 30 minutes three times a day lunch afternoon and bedtime. The girls are told to stay for 20 minutes and allow 10 minutes for travelling. The office manager just rang me to let me know they were finding me new carers at which stage I reminded her that I had requested new carers not the other way around. Her rudeness is amazing. I mentioned about the 30 minute call time and her reply was “if the girls have completed all of the tasks you require they leave”. I said that last night the carers, along with my husband, pulled my pyjamas up and, as I was going out for a quick cigarette, made 2 cups of tea. When we came in after 5 minutes they had gone, no goodbye or is there anything else you require?

We are sorry to note that you had a bad experience.
Unfortunately, as a care company, our staff are only covered to complete tasks that are set out on a care plan, therefore they were unable to carry out duties like changing the puppy's mat, cleaning up dog mess, etc.

Homecare Unique was assigned to us from the hospital when my
Father-in-Law came home to receive end of life care.
We cannot praise them highly enough for the care, professionalism and support they gave us during some of the most awful weeks of our lives. They looked after my Father in Law with so much genuine compassion during the last weeks of his life also ensuring that my husband and I were okay. Knowing they were coming in to help four times a day gave us reassurance and peace of mind.
Words cannot express our gratitude to each and every member of the care team that visited. We will never ever forget their kindness.

Overall Experience

Homecare Unique Ltd started providing care to my father last August, then also my mother when she came out of the hospital in September. They continued until my father passed away on 1st April this year. The managers were always very helpful, always available, and in my view, outstanding in their ability to respond to my parents' rapid change in care needs. They made it possible for my father to remain in his own home despite his very complex care needs, and I am so very grateful to them for that.

Every single carer that I have met from Homecare Unique have been wonderful, nothing is too much trouble for them, they went over and above what was expected of them during the year that they cared for my friend.
The manager has always been very responsive and supportive and runs this business with genuine love and compassion for her clients.
I would highly recommend Homecare Unique as a wonderful company to care for your family members or friends.
