We've been incredibly impressed with the level of care provided by Home Instead. The caregivers who support my father-in-law each day are compassionate, patient, and genuinely dedicated to his wellbeing and he enjoys their visits. Communication is always clear and timely, and the team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure comfort and dignity. It brings our whole family peace of mind knowing he is in such capable and caring hands. Highly recommend
Thank you for your kind words regarding our service and care staff. We are so pleased to hear that we are making a difference to our lovely client and your family's lives. Many thanks Karen.
Dad has early stage Alzheimer's and dementia. My sister and I provided very clear details of the care and assistance needed, however we have had to constantly communicate with the office to get things done. Simple tasks get overlooked or avoided, causing us to have to regularly pick up the pieces. As Dad's 'carers' my sister and I had hoped to lessen the burden on our own busy lives, as well as ensuring Dad has social interaction on a daily basis. We have had many care professionals visit Dad, despite our initial discussions around having one main CP assigned. Currently there are two regular CPs visiting. One of these CPs goes above and beyond to put things right following the other CP's visits. We are very grateful to have the excellent CP mentioned. Overall however, we are frustrated with the service provided by HomeInstead.
Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that our service has not met your expectations, especially regarding communication, task consistency, and care team continuity. We fully understand how important reliable support is for your dad and for you and your sister.
We are pleased to...
We haven't had the best experience with Home Instead. The carers get on well with my grandad and he loves their company. Unfortunately the care plan does not reflect his needs and therefore his basic needs have not been met and i feel the company have failed to safeguard their staff on multiple occasions.
Meetings between home instead, the family and the social worker hasn't resolved this so we have decided to find another care company.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that we have not met your expectations. Please be assured that we have been very vigilant throughout our time supporting your grandfather. We checked in regularly with all of the Care Professionals involved in his...
Very helpful for shopping and exercise classes, sometimes carers arrive late, which isn't good for classes. All carers are good at helping with the shopping.
We are sorry to hear that Care Professionals...
Carers for my mother are amazing! They take care of her personal care with respect, discretion and sensitivity. Their sunny disposition helps us all with a difficult situation. They are also prompt and have excellent record taking skills, so I always know how things are going on the days I can't be there. It is a huge relief for all of us that my mother is in good hands.
Always flexible and willing to change timings and tasks.
Will go the extra mile in the office (e.g. to get arthritis medication)
Sometimes we don't get scheduling info for my mum in advance.
Thank you so much for your kind words about our carers. We're really pleased to hear that their patience, flexibility, and willingness to go the extra mile have made a positive difference. It's lovely to know their dedication is appreciated. We also appreciate your feedback about the scheduling...
My mother received an excellent service from all the carers following a two week stay in hospital. They gave her the confidence that she needed to get back on her feet and got her independence back. All the carers are extremely professional and hard working. The lead person even came to meet us in the hospital before my mother left, despite it being her weekend off. I would highly recommend this company for service and professionalism.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is good to hear that our teams responsiveness and support have helped your mum get back on her feet. Many thanks Karen
Our package was adjusted to our individual needs and was flexible. Initially the support was for me having needed emergency surgery.
My husband got to know the carers so that when my need ceased he agreed to companionship visits and these continue.
My husband looks forward to his companionship visits and enjoys a break from me. I am able to visir friends, family or shop.
He and his companion go for a ride, refreshment, chat and a short walk.
He has built a bond with a very special carer and really looks forward to his 2 hour visits.
Our experience with all the carers has been resoundingly positive. We have found the carers to be professional, caring, friendly, empathic and supportive. All carers are eager to understand and get to know their clients and family to ensure they give the best help and assistance possible.
We wholeheartedly recommend Home Instead to others.
We are so happy our visits have had a positive impact on your husbands daily routine. Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. Many thanks.
Superb service. Helped us out of real spot when we were let down by care providers. They came to the hospital prior to discharge and were there on discharge. Staff are punctual, friendly and professional. They don't rush me and I feel safe and listened to.
Thank you for your review. Its good to hear that our team acted quickly to get you out of hospital and are providing the service you deserve. All the best.
My late husband had a carer 3 times a day. They were so very much missed when he passed in January 2024. I decided to have a companion call every weekday in the afternoon. I find them all so kind, friendly, and very willing to help with any chore that needs to be done.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It's wonderful to hear you have built up a lovely relationship with the care professionals who cared for your husband. Many thanks, Karen
Home Instead have been looking after my wife since February 2023. We have 2 carers per visit. Carers are very friendly, well-trained professionals. Their performance is regularly monitored by their supervisor/manager The time allocated to each visit means they can form a good relationship with the client. The app provides a summary of each visit and gives notice about which carers will make future calls. We are very pleased with the service.
Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review. It's so good to hear how happy you both are with the service. Many thanks, Karen
Friendly professional service, All care professionals give quality care with compassion and empathy, Maintaining the dignity of the client while befriending.
Thank you for your kind words, we are so happy we are able to make a difference. Many thanks, Karen.
I owe Home Instead so very much. My husband died on the 3rd of January 2018 aged 78 not unexpectedly but a shock nevertheless. Now I can't quite recall if Home Instead were visiting us already or if it was just after that. Several ladies came along and were all very lovely and eventually, to suit days and times, my present lady became my special visitor. Luckily we had loads of common interests that we gelled straight away, it was a tremendous bonus. So cheers and thanks Home Instead.
Thank you for completing a review and for your kind words. It's lovely to hear that you are enjoying the company of your support team.
She is always cheerful and works very hard.
Thank you for your review. Its great to hear that you are finding your care support so helpful.
The experience with Home Instead Newport has been superb, my mother has daily support and the support staff are fantastic. My mother was very nervous at the start but now she absolutely loves the time with the support staff and she does more now than she has done over the last few years, walking/ food shopping/clothes shopping and help around the house - it has brought a huge level of independence and company for her. She tells me that she feels the support staff are like daughters she never had!
Thank you Martyn for your lovely feedback. It's so good to hear how much your mum loves the time with her support team. Thanks for your support. Best wishes.
Since then she has had live-in care and it has been (occasionally literally) a lifesaver.
She will be one hundred soon, so we are no "spring chickens" either, and neither we nor other family members live near her, so she relies very much on Home Instead for companionship, care and general help with day-to-day living. As Mum is house-bound and now profoundly deaf she would have great difficulty in communicating by phone or letter, and no longer uses the computer.
Despite her impending century she remains very independently-minded and she finds it a huge comfort to still be in her own home with her own space, belongings and garden, all of which Home Instead care gives.
The cost is expensive, but the care is individual, which would be unlikely in a home (which charges a similar amount).
Thank you so much for writing a review. It's great to hear that your mum is doing so well and her support has been a lifesaver. What an incredible achievement to reach 100 years of age.
My husband and I live in America, so providing home help for my mother-in-law in Wales was a necessity. Home Instead we're easy to work with from the beginning and gave us piece of mind when we could not be there. The caregivers were both professional and comforting in the care that they gave, and we could not express our gratitude or give a higher recognition of this company for all they were able to do for our family during often challenging times.
Most of the carers have proved to be very professional and conscientious in their jobs. Unhappy with the cost increase, above rate of inflation.
Thank you for your review. We are really pleased that you are happy with the care we are providing. Sorry to hear you are unhappy with the price increase, but our staff have benefited from a well-earned pay rise also above the rate of inflation. Best wishes.
We arranged for Mum to receive care in her own home for a period of 15 months between December 2021 and April 2023. She was a very independent lady who feared the prospect of allowing carers into her own home, but quickly appreciated the kindness, care and efficiency of all who came to look after her. Mum was blessed with having a small group of well-matched carers who became genuine friends over the year and provided exactly the level of friendship, care, practical service and support she needed. Communication and flexibility of arrangements was good, often in difficult circumstances and all of our family will always be grateful.
Contacted us when found individual unwell.
One of carers in particular built up trust with a stubborn individual to eventually give personal care when required.
Thank you for your feedback. Is good to hear that our Care Professionals are so valued doing such a fantastic job.

Meet the Team (9)
I opened Home Instead Newport, Cwmbran and Chepstow in October 2017 with my daughter Laura. I was thrilled to find Home Instead and to have the opportunity in the community that I have grown up in to be able to make a difference in the lives of the elderly. Having experienced caring for a close family member I know exactly how important good heartfelt care is.
I was attracted to Home Instead for its high-quality care and its ethos where the focus is on building a caring, trusting relationship between our client and our Care Professionals, which supports older people remaining living independently at home. We provide our clients with the very best support and will always work hard to make sure things are right for them. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, walk my dogs and read. I am also a trustee of the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales and I fundraise regularly for the children's hospital to help with providing play specialists, new equipment, refurbishments and much more.
High-quality care has a hugely positive impact on people's lives and it is something that I take pride in, it’s a real privilege to be part of a team that enhances people’s lives every day.
