Comfort Care At Home is an award-winning and local domiciliary care provider, working to support and provide high-quality care for people in their own homes.

Their goal is to help your loved ones to stay happily in their own homes for longer. They promote their independence whilst supporting them with the tasks they are no longer able to do alone.

They chase your healthcare professionals such as GPs and district nurses to get appointments and referrals, and they keep your loved ones safe by managing the ordering, disposing and inventory of their medication.

Comfort Care At Home uses the latest technology solutions to monitor their well-being, which can be viewed by you and them anywhere around the world. They receive alerts immediately on their system if your loved one refuses medication or won’t eat.

They have a 5 minute rule so if your care professional is running late by 5 minutes or more, they will let you know so you don’t have to worry. Comfort Care At Home also uses WhatsApp group chats to communicate with you about your loved ones.

I've no experience with other healthcare providers, so I can't compare Comfort Care At Home with others. However, I would recommend them to any family who needs care for their loved ones.
They are very professional and take standards and processes seriously, sometimes to my frustration, but that just
shows that it is my family member that is the important one not placating me. They've rules and procedures set in place to protect us, them and the person being cared for, and they stick to them, which is reassuring.
There are times when they have stepped in to help us and did stuff that is above and beyond what you would expect.
It is clear that there are strong lines of communication and leadership throughout the company, from bottom to top. I would have no concern if one day, one of my relative's sessions was being performed by the owner of the company because they aren't just a management team; they are carers themselves.
Regular daily communication is so helpful.

Comfort Care at Home continued this month to provide excellent care for my mum. She had tested positive for Covid and was feeling tired, low in energy and generally unwell. The team dealt so well with Mum, keeping us updated on progress each day.
I would also like to mention the days out they have
arranged in recent months, which have allowed Mum the opportunity to get out during the week to experience something new.

The daily visit provides great support to my elderly mother and provides her with company. The cheerful attitude of the carers keeps her going and their help in monitoring medication and food stuff is of invaluable help to myself along with doing her exercises with her to keep her mobile. Any issues
or concerns are quickly fed back to me which helps as it means that at least one person has seen her daily and along with arranging the occasional trip out it all helps to keep her active.

Comfort Care At Home had been caring for my father for several years following a cancer operation, and subsequent illnesses. We were recommended them through our GP and from the first visit, to when he sadly passed away last September the care provided has been exemplary. Always very professional and
reliable, but with passion and genuine interest for my father. They always went the extra mile to be helpful and often carried out extra tasks that weren't part of the package, but helped us immensely, such as lifts to GPs, visits to hospitals and odd bits of shopping when needed. All of the care team became more like friends rather than a service provider and this made my Dads situation far more comfortable and bearable, and was a huge help to me and my sister as we both work and couldn't spend as much time as we would have liked with Dad. This was our first experience with having to deal with this kind of situation, and wouldn't hesitate recommending the company to anyone.

We used Comfort Care At Home agency for my Father for several years and were always completely happy with the service provided. We found them all to be highly professional, dedicated and friendly individuals who always went beyond the call of duty when required. They maintained constant communication
with me providing full peace of mind that he was always in good hands and all needs were monitored. They provided medical knowledge and full understanding of the difficulties of being housebound both physically and mentally, often offering solutions for particular situations and issues. They were invaluable to his continued care support and maintained his ability to remain living in the family home. He spoke fondly of them all and we never had any complaints about them, only constant praise, trust and gratitude. We couldn’t have managed without such a reliable, approachable and caring team to guide and assist us throughout my Dads last years. I wouldn’t ever hesitate in recommending them.

The service offered by this company is second to none. The girls are all kind and helpful and whatever they are asked to do they do so willingly. We are completely satisfied with Comfort Care at Home. The company and owner recently organised a Coronation celebration for all the clients. It was wonderful!
Everyone went home with a gift bag and very special memories.

Comfort Care at Home have been looking after my proud and obstinate 97-year-old mother since autumn 2018 and their involvement with her has gradually increased as her mobility has decreased - she is now completely bedridden. They now visit her 4x daily as double-up care to support and guide her live-in
care. They have been indefatigable in fighting her corner through the labyrinth of medical care (OTs, district nurses, GPs) - even when she was in hospital and respite care - they know her needs better than I do, provide invaluable support and guidance to the live-in carers, and are the one constant in her (and my) life whom I totally trust to see to her needs with kindness, respect and compassion. Thank goodness for Comfort Care at Home - they feel like a vital part of our family.

I am so pleased that we found Comfort Care At Home to provide weekly care for my wife who has Alzheimer's.
The staff employed were top rate as was the level of care.
The manager was always available to back up the staff and showed genuine concern for both my wife and myself, even liaising with other
family members and our GP.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Comfort Care.

I booked this company on a temporary basis as my usual carer had to go abroad for family reasons. I was apprehensive about the change but couldn’t be more delighted with the service. The carer I had the most dealings with always arrived on time with a smile on her face. She made me feel very comfortable
too and we built up a good rapport. As I live on my own it is important that I enjoy the company of my carers.
I should also add that the other carer was also very attentive and professional. Each person was always prepared to do more than I expected.

My mother and I were very pleased with the service provided by Comfort Care At Home. The staff are very accommodating and flexible. The managers did a first-rate assessment of my mum’s needs, and this was revised as those needs changed. It truly was person-centred. Staff were kind and very helpful and
very respectful. There was excellent communication between myself and the managers if changes were made from the original care plan. They absolutely responded to Mum’s requests to do tasks in a particular way she wanted. I would most certainly recommend Comfort Care At Home.

The manager and the team at Comfort Care At Home provided excellent and caring support to my mum at home after she decided she needed some extra help due to her failing eyesight. What I really appreciated about the care my mum received from her carers was the initial assessment that looked at exactly
what kind and how much care my mum would need, and the very professional checks and measures put in place to ensure that Mum was very much in the driver's seat of her ongoing care. I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for care at home for an elderly relative.

Shamsah Lalji

Job Title: Director Joined: 2018

What inspired me to found Comfort Care At Home®? I grew up in a household living with my grandmother and an aunt who had certain physical disabilities. I witnessed the importance of home care professionals first-hand and the impact they had on my family’s quality of life and peace of mind. My personal experience helped me shape what high-quality care should be: from the caring and kind-hearted staff we recruit to the standards to which we work. I wanted to help older people live happily and safely in their own homes longer, and this is why I launched my company.


I have a Masters Degree in Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I have worked for a number of years in the pharmaceutical industry, specialising in conditions and diseases many older people are living with, such as diabetes, nutrition disorders, cancers, and many more. I am a Dementia Friends Ambassador and committed to making a positive difference to people living with dementia.


I have always enjoyed being involved in the community, from volunteering to raising money for charities. I was appointed as a Trustee for Re-Engage, a charity that works within communities to end social isolation and loneliness in older people.

I joined the company recently as the Digital Marketing and Office Assistant. I completed a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design and was initially hired to devise and implement the digital marketing strategy. I have taken on additional responsibilities such as finding kind and caring staff to join our team and supporting the office team with administrative tasks.


I have a huge passion for the art of writing; I have written content for charities along with a radio station. I believe that knowledge is power, and this is why I am writing two children’s books to encourage young minds to read and be critical thinkers.


Seeing the impact that Comfort Care At Home® has in the local community, I decided to undergo training to be a Care Professional along with my other roles within the company. I enjoy working with such a supportive and fun team and embrace the goal of the company to put a smile on people’s faces.
