Mum then became very unwell quickly and the carer alerted emergency care and helped support a smooth transition to the ambulance and hospital care. On discharge, their care again was seamless and they amended her care plan to fully meet her updated needs.
I would not hesitate to recommend Radfield Home Care Harrogate to anyone who is looking for care for their family members and loved ones.

The whole Radfield Home Care team are great people, from the carers to the supervisors and leaders. We recently discussed a review of my mum's care plan, my brother and I had some thoughts, but the Radfield team sat down and carefully thought through mums needs and provided us a care plan option. This has now been implemented and is very successful and has been a big help for Mum. Mum also started attending the daycare centre which she really enjoys and we have been receiving pictures of Mum through email of her enjoying the day centre activities.

Very efficient and thorough service. Always on time and very responsive when needed. The daily feedback is provided immediately whilst the carer is on site at my father’s house. And most importantly is very comprehensive and provides me with the reassurance that I need as we live over an hour’s drive away.

Keeping costs down for super rural communities is always a challenge as we remain committed to ensuring all our staff are paid for their time and mileage as well as the time they spend providing care.
They usually do all as requested, including some things which may not be really part of their remit. They are usually punctual but there are sometimes traffic holdups, inevitably.

It’s such a shame that you felt everything deserved only 3 stars and when we spoke to you on the phone couldn’t think of any ways of us improving the score. If you think of anything we could do to improve or make the service better for you please do not hesitate to let us know and we would be really keen to do so.
Following a 2 and a half week stay in hospital, the service user was having difficulty walking or caring for himself. He was able to cope with fewer visits from Radfield staff as time passed. Three times per week is ideal now. It reduces pressure on me - the constant carer - and despite his suffering from dementia, the client has made progress in most areas. We have both benefitted from Monday and Friday visits spent at the local leisure centre for swimming. Your staff shower and dress him afterwards. He always says how much better he feels afterwards - in spirit and physically.

Radfield has been caring for my aunt for nearly 3 years. She is totally deaf, has dementia and her eyesight is not good. All her carers are excellent with her. I would say to anyone (which I do), all Radfield staff are the best. Trust me, my aunt is not an easy person to care for, but all the carers are fab. Cannot thank them all enough.

Radfield provides an excellent service. The staff are clean, pleasant and know what they are doing. Their timekeeping is to within a few minutes of the rota times unless there is a problem. I prefer a regular rota with the usual staff, but know that changes have to occur.

When we do have a reason to ring the office, they also are friendly and helpful. If the call goes on to the answering machine, they always ring back within about half an hour. I wish we were in a position where we didn't need care, but as we have to, we could not be better looked after.

I have found the staff/carers punctual, efficient and professional. They install confidence. They are reliable and polite. I have helped certain carers to make food for me, which I feel must be old-fashioned or ethnic. Geordie version of Irish stew plus banana custard.

The wonderful staff at Radfield Home Care have looked after my 97-year-old mum for 3 years and to date have never faulted on visits or service. Communication is good and helps family with trust knowing that sooner someone will always be there at the arranged time. This is confirmed by a weekly rota sent to Mum and ourselves being up to date. We always know who or what time the carer will be coming. This helps with diarising family issues and events. Any changes are discussed in advance. Mum loves the staff for their positive chat and friendly service provided.

I have been using Radfield for approaching two years for firstly morning and evening carers for half an hour and later for the morning only as I have difficulty getting downstairs and dressing. I have found the carers helpful and willing. If I want to change their method of working this can be arranged. If carers have to be changed for whatever reason, we are informed.

Care team are very friendly and always very helpful. Often go above and beyond. The carers have manged to get mum to go out for a walk daily which has improved mum's mobility. Office team are happy to take any calls from myself and have helped to answer any questions I have had .

Meet the Team (4)
Matthew holds a vast amount of experience in the care sector. After qualifying in 2012 as an Occupational Therapist, he has worked in a variety of community based roles in both the NHS and private sector and more recently has been the manager of Harrogate and Ripon’s community nursing and therapy teams.
Not only is Matthew a health care professional, but he is also a proud husband of a registered nurse. Health care is their family business, and Matthew is not only passionate about providing quality client centred care but also dedicated to providing a market-leading workplace for carers.
Matthew has always been committed and passionate about providing high quality care to individuals, however, he is always keen to look at new ways of enhancing and enriching people’s lives and creating memories that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
Liz has 20 years of experience working in the care sector in a variety of roles including volunteer, support worker, senior support worker and in 2006 became the registered manager of a residential home for adults with learning disabilities. This position afforded Liz the opportunity to really make a difference to the residents and staff by ensuring they were at the heart of everything they did.
Liz joined Radfield Home Care Harrogate, Wetherby and North Yorkshire in March 2018 as she felt it was time for a new challenge and had heard very positive feedback about Radfield.
Liz explains, “My aim is to support the growth of the business whilst maintaining the ‘family values’ that Radfield Home Care pride themselves on, and continuing to develop a highly skilled staff team who deliver high quality, personalised care."
Outside of work Liz enjoys cooking, spending time with her partner and their daughter and catching up with friends and family.
Leah explains, “After having my son and going back to work part-time for just over a year I decided it was time for a new challenge and progress my career in the care sector.”
Leah joined Radfield Home Care Harrogate, Wetherby and North Yorkshire in July 2018 as a care supervisor and a few months into that role, progressed to care coordinator and then Deputy Manager completing her ‘Assessors Award’ soon after.
Leah explains, “I am passionate about supporting people to stay in their own homes as long as possible and the care we provide is second to none! It was the best decision I made joining Radfield Home Care as the training has been the best I have ever had, and I am learning new skills all the time.”
Leah oversees the timings and quality of care delivered to our clients and ensures that everything is working smoothly.
I have extensive experience in operational roles across the retail and hospitality sectors, with a proven track record of streamlining processes, driving marketing initiatives, and consistently achieving sales growth.
My background has given me a strong foundation to support Radfield Home Care Harrogate, Wetherby & North Yorkshire in expanding our client base. I’m passionate about refining our marketing approach, ensuring our message reaches those who truly need our personalised home care services.
Seeing my grandma transition from independence to relying on others gave me a deep appreciation for the importance of quality care.
