The carers and office staff were always approachable and supportive. We were provided with a phone app where members of the family could login and read daily reports from individual carers. These reports helped us feel reassured that dad was ok and being well cared for. To summarise the team at Home Instead gave dad the safe, professional, compassionate and caring support necessary to help him to remain living in his own home - something he really wanted to do!

I have worked in care for many years and was a Registered Manager in Launceston before joining Home Instead in 2021. Focussing initially on our Care Professionals and all of their HR management, I stepped up to the Registered Manager position in January 2024.

I am married to Mike and between us, we have 3 children and 4 grandchildren who keep us on our toes and very active. We have 2 dogs, a sausage dog called Rosie and a cocker spaniel called Tilly, we love to spend most of our free time walking them across the moors.

My name is Sandie and I was the Registered Manager at Tavistock and Tamar Valley Home Instead office. I have now moved to a part-time role dedicated to our quality standards. I live in the beautiful town of Tavistock with my husband Mark and our two teenage daughters, we have an Irish Setter dog and a Maine Coon cat.
My career has primarily been in banking, starting as a bank clerk with Barclays at 16, and progressing to managerial positions within the Santander group. On moving to Tavistock in 2009, my husband and I wanted to share the care of our two young daughters, so I worked as an evening care worker to dovetail with his work. I developed a passion for looking after people in their own homes and started a small domiciliary company, wanting to improve my client’s quality of life and truly make a difference, this is how I met Lynn and her Mum Enid. Having started this journey from the beginning with Lynn, I am so proud that we have built an amazing team with values that focus on our mission to ‘change the face of ageing’.
I have two older daughters and four grandchildren and my spare time goes into dog walks on the moors, planning get-togethers, days out, holidays, online quizzes and murder mysteries. I also love live music events and getting on the dance floor.
