Overall Experience

The carers have been very supportive of our mother and this has helped to raise her mood and her overall wellbeing. The staff have achieved this by interacting with her to ensure she takes her prescription medication 3 times a day and eats a meal 3 times a day, along with keeping her hydrated which is key to maintaining her health. Another aspect of their role is to interact with Mum and this, as simple as it sounds, keeps her mental health stable.

Very accommodating care company who have provided a tailored respite service specific to our needs, with friendly supportive staff that met our requirements. Staff attended at agreed times and contact prior and after the respite has been very consistent.

I just wanted to add a few words about Radfield Home Care Wakefield & Huddersfield. I have used them for a couple of years now for my elderly mother and I'm so pleased to say that we continue to receive great care and attention from all the staff helping my mum and all the communications with them in the Ossett branch. My mother always receives great care and she has not been let down once by attendance in the two years we have used Radfield.
We recently had a care review from the Field Care Supervisor of staff who was full of ideas about my mums situation and how best we can keep her at home safely. She was professional and friendly and very helpful. I live quite far away so it is wonderful to know that she is in very safe hands in Ossett.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Radfield to anyone looking for elderly care.

I'm my dad's eldest son and have been his primary carer for the last ten years. My dad suffered a major stroke at the age of 80. He is currently 90 years old. Throughout this period. To ensure my dad was/is getting the best care support he needs. I have had to obtain help and have done so from several sources. This journey of support and care required has been a difficult one. Hence why I refer to several sources of care that have been used. Ten years ago I was extremely 'green'. To clarify I thought that getting quality care and support would have been quite a straightforward process. How wrong I was. During the last ten years I have received help from several of the large national care providers. I have received help on a 'live-in care basis'. I also and in the main have received care from private individuals. Ten years on and being involved first-hand with the care of my dad I know exactly what's required to be a quality carer. Speaking again from experience I also know that many carers and care companies exist who fall well short of any sort of reasonable standard. It's quite shocking knowing this fact. However, I am pleased to say that quality carers do exist. I know I've found the best. It's no surprise to me to learn that Radfield Home Care based in Ossett (covering the Wakefield and Dewsbury area) have won awards for the high standard of care they provide. Radfield provided night care for my dad for two hours every evening. They have been doing so for several months now. One of the best decisions I have ever made was getting in touch with Radfield. Quite simply Radfield's care standards are way above and beyond the others. For many years I have taken on private individuals, many of which have hit this level of care that we all want. However, having to manage them is in itself a major task. Radfield have taken that responsibility away from me. I feel confident that they never let me down. Radfield always arrived on time. All the staff are great. One staff member in particular always delivers. In my dad's own words... 'he is very meticulous and efficient'. He always makes sure I am comfortable before he leaves. There are three staff who look after my dad. All always arrived on time. They give my dad two full hours of night care every evening. They are all very polite, professional and very positive people. They deserve so much credit. The whole company, in all areas, are so professional. The manager, supervisor and office manager have played their part in making my dad's life as comfortable as possible. The carer mentioned earlier does deserve a massive thank you as he is Dad's main carer. Well done Radifled you are 'simply the best' and better than all the rest. Regards.

Overall Experience

Excellent service from everybody concerned. They provided care for my mum and dad who are both 93 years old. They said all the carers were kind, and considerate and treated them with respect. I would have no hesitation in using or recommending Radfield Care.

I have liaised directly with the field care supervisor (client lead) and a number of other workers/admin team on behalf of a 92 year old relative that receives daycare home support 3x a week. I have found the team to be extremely helpful and supportive regarding services and availability, taking his needs into account at all times. We have both found the team to be friendly and approachable and have listened to our requests with care. The carers that provide the service have gone out of their way to meet his needs and comfort when visiting in the home, respecting his independence at all times.

Particular member of staff has been a regular carer visiting to provide support and is delightful and full of smiles. The field care supervisor has taken time when reviewing the service on a 1-1 with my relative and with his permission and understanding, has made contact with myself to update me with any outcome. We are extremely pleased with the service. Thankyou.

My mother-in-law has been attending the daycare facility for a few months now, as living with us has made her very reliant on just myself and her only child. Radfield staff have picked up on her anxiety and have brought her out of her shell. The team are amazing very caring patient and understanding of her needs.

Overall Experience

My grandma has been using the service for quite a while now. She seems to really enjoy meeting and interacting with other service users at daycare. The staff are always kind and helpful and really have knowledge of how to deal with any health needs the clients may have. Getting out of the house and doing new things really helps to build her confidence, and I've been along to a few of the sessions myself and had a lovely time. I would definitely recommend them as a company as I feel they put the needs of each individual client first.

I am writing to recommend Radfield Home Care Wakefield & Huddersfield for the care and support they provided for my Mum during august/september when her long time cleaner suddenly stopped supporting Mum.
The prompt service and sensitive handling of Mum's situation was amazing. Within a few hours of contacting Radfield they had agreed to provide additional support for Mum until we could resolve her situation. The office team were very proactive and caring. The carers who supported Mum were amazing (as always) and went out of their way to provide exceptional care. All of the Team are thoughtful and kind. Mum has more recently had pain in her back - the carers have filled hot water bottles for her and treated her with compassion.
My only wish, I could influence the Government to recognise the enormous contribution carers make to communities/lives and provide appropriate resources to pay for this invaluable service. This job requires an enormous amount of knowledge, skill and empathy.

I highly recommend Radfield Home Care, they provide excellent care for my godmother. As I live over a hundred miles away, if there are any concerns about her health or wellbeing, I know I can rely on Radfield Home Care to support and care for her. When she needed a little more extra care, one phone call was all that was needed, and the staff dealt with it professionally so that the support was there straight away. The staff are always thinking of ways to make life more exciting and have recently introduced a day out for clients, taking them to different places and having lunch out. Radfield Home Care put clients first and have their interests at heart.

Radfield has provided brilliant care for my dad for over a year. Living far away, it was important to know Dad was being cared for. Nothing was too much trouble, and they always adapted as necessary. Would highly recommend it. Particularly one lady; she is an amazing carer.

W have been very pleased with the care and efficiency of Radfield. The carers are always cheerful and respectful. It does my husband good just to have their company every day. I am really grateful that the service continued, even though we both had covid and do hope no one was harmed through this.

Overall Experience

Although my need for the services of Radfield Home Care was for a short period only (five and a half weeks), from the initial contact to the final days of care, I found the office staff and carers to be professional, caring, flexible and understanding of my needs. I would confidently use their service again, should the need arise.

Jackie, co-owner and director of Wakefield & Dewsbury holds a wealth of experience in the social and supported housing sector and has cared for a wide range of client needs throughout her career. Jackie has also managed a Sheltered Housing Scheme for a number of years providing independent living, care and support to older residents and this experience has driven her ambition and inspiration to provide an outstanding care and support service to older people in their own homes.

Jackie, also a wonderful mum to her two sons Tom and Sam, has always had a passion for making a difference to people’s lives. Jackie explains, “Owning and operating your own business enables us to have control over the quality of services we provide. My husband and I have both previously worked for employers where we have had limited decision-making power regarding the quality of services that were provided and by running our own business, we will have full control over the strategic direction of the business and ensuring that the quality of services remains outstanding.”

Gemma is the registered care manager for the Radfield Home Care Wakefield and Dewsbury office and has worked in the care sector for over 13 years.

She commenced her career as an administrator and soon became involved in supporting the delivery and coordination of care.

Gemma very quickly progressed into her first management role in 2014 as a service manager. After taking a short career break to spend time with her family, she stepped back into a management role a year later, gaining her CQC Registration. Her career in care has offered her great flexibility to balance work with family life.
