Overall Experience
We've been making use of Home Care Preferred for months. They are very professional, compassionate and thorough.
The staff/management and carers are absolutely top class, friendly and disciplined.

I will certainly recommend them, the peace of mind they give is irreplaceable and highly appreciated.

Overall Experience

They looked after me very well when I broke my both ankles until I got back on my feet. The Staffs in the office were very helpful, easy to talk to and very friendly. I can honestly say that they go a hundred and ten percent all out for you. Nothing is too much for them. Carers were very caring and supportive and extremely helpful. I highly recommend Home Care Preferred Barnet.

Overall Experience

At all levels, Home Care Preferred has been excellent with both my parents. The staff are caring, reliable and calm, using their initiative when they need to. Management are proactive, informed and very responsive. It's reassuring for my parents and a weight off my mind to have Home Care Preferred in charge of their care.

Efficient, caring and well-trained carers through the agency. The Manger

was always a brilliant support through thick and thin of things and such a good manager and organiser. Always on the end of a phone, as was Care Manager and the carers are all fully briefed and trained

Overall Experience
I had homecare for two weeks following a hip replacement as I live alone. The care and attention from Home Care Preferred was excellent. The Manager helped me organise aids for my return home, organised my return from hospital and helped me to settle in.
The carer they provided was very friendly and helpful, and I couldn't have managed without her. She was living in.
I would add that in 2019/2020 we had live in carers from Home Care Preferred to care for my husband who was suffering from Vascular Dementia. The care they provided was again excellent. The carers provided were mainly very good, and on the odd occasion when things weren't working out with a carer the managers immediately responded, and when necessary replaced the carer.
We had some delightful people, and of course inevitably the odd person who didn't fit in, but as I said, the managers responded immediately to make things right.

I have found the managers a delight to know and can highly recommend them as a company.

Overall, my experience has been favourable. The service has been friendly and willing to assist on any occasion. No complaints. I have not been neglected and visits have been on time, even when last minute changes have to be made.

Overall Experience

We could not have asked for anything more from Home Care Preferred. They were outstanding in their support and care for my friend. They went out of their way no matter what time of day or night to help with any routine or crisis matters. They dealt with the health service, gave me advice, were very easy to communicate with and proactive where they needed decisions or further involvement with us. We felt known by them. Their administrative systems worked excellently.

Overall Experience

Very impressed with the Home Care Preferred team. Have previously used another highly rated provider but this team are a level up. They would regularly go above and beyond my expectations, e.g. additional unplanned visits which were not charged for, frequent communication from managers and supervisors, arranging changes in medication with GP and collecting from pharmacy, to name just a few. I can highly recommend and would definitely use again if circumstance dictates.

Overall Experience

I thoroughly recommend Home Care Preferred. They have relieved me of much of the stress and hard work of looking after my aunt. They help manage doctor's appointments, and medication and have even looked after the dog. They are friendly, reliable and professional. They also completely understand the psychological and emotional aspects of looking after an independent-minded person who finds it hard to come to terms with needing increasing care.

Overall Experience

Home Care Preferred has been providing daily care to my mum since summer 2020. I do not live near my mum and needed help. Home Care Preferred is easy to work with remotely, always responding quickly to email/phone calls, and that has continued to be the case. The quality of care provided has been excellent and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking quality care for a loved one.

Overall Experience

The management of this agency genuinely care about the welfare of their clients. The carer who looked after my mum from Jan to June 2023 went above and beyond what we expected. Her communication was excellent, friendly and cooperative. She listened and complied with our requests to stick to a specific morning routine which helped mum gain confidence and she enjoyed her company. We would happily recommend them and would certainly use their service again.

Overall Experience

As a family, we have been clients since 2019 for my late uncle and my father since 2021. The manager is always on hand to advise, and she has worked with us on increasing his visits post-hospital stays, her team were flexible with discharge delays. The team are very helpful from advising me about medicine to use of cameras in the home. This family firm helps us with our family keep Dad at home, and I have no problem recommending them and their carers.

I needed some respite care recovering from an injury recently. The assessment was done in a professional manner and immediately they understood and suggested the type of service required for me. The carer they sent was caring and attentive to my needs. No complaints. I highly recommend them for their professionalism and proactive approach.

When I first phoned I spoke to the finance director, told her my mother needed care but I had no idea what to enquire about. She was very helpful and arranged for an assessment the next day. The manager carried out the assessment, and she was wonderful. The service started immediately with no delay, which is just what my mother needed. I subsequently asked my mother if she liked the carer service and if she liked the carers. My mother's only previous experience of carers was during and after a hospital stay, and she did not much like the care she received then. Home Care Preferred carers were clearly much nicer, and my mother was very pleased with the Home Care Preferred carers and their service in general. I have had a very good experience with this company and I am really pleased I went to them.

The carer took really good care of the client, providing medicine and meals regularly. The carer made sure that the client had a balanced diet and provided all the necessities that the client needed. The carer was very friendly and patient with the client. The carer also kept me updated on the client's recovery progressed every day.

Overall Experience

I have used this group for about three years. The first visit is at 8 am to get me up. The second is at 8.30 pm to put me to bed. They are very reliable. Telephone warming if any (rare) delays/problems. I have walking problems and from time to time one of them escorts me to a hospital visit. Very helpful in reminding me of what was said. Could not do without them.

The care, support and help are good, and they have always been there when we needed them. They were especially helpful during the Covid period and during some emergency incidents, which occurred and required hospital treatment.

Angie Ng

Angie started her career as a banker in 1982 and obtained her degree in Business Studies with a specialisation in UK Banking.

After having worked in banking for more than 30 years, Angie decided to retire and follow her passion for business by opening a care agency with her daughter Shir-li.

Angie has always had a caring and compassionate streak. She had cared for her terminally ill mother as well has her grandfather. Angie herself has also suffered an aneurysm and, for a time, engaged a private nurse to look after her. This experience of both receiving and delivering care gives Angie a unique perspective as a provider.

Angie is a very family-oriented individual. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading and completing Sudoku puzzles.

Shir-Li Lim

Shir-Li graduated from Sheffield Hallam University as a Physiotherapist but soon realised that her passion was for the care profession and decided to pursue opportunities in the sector.

Shir-Li first worked in the care profession at Home Care Preferred in Winchmore Hill. Here she excelled in several positions.

When the opportunity arose to open a Home Care Preferred branch in Barnet, along with other family members, Shir-Li welcomed this career progression. She became the Registered Care Manager and helped grow a successful branch.

After a period off for maternity leave, Shir-Li returned in a more varied role in which she can utilise her knowledge and skills. In addition to overseeing the Care Manager and Business Development Manager on the daily running of the business she also works with the management team to ensure the highest levels of care are delivered to clients. Shir-Li also collaborates with charities and relevant business partners to contribute towards well-being of the local community.

Qua is Angie’s husband. He has worked in the banking and insurance industry for close to 20 years. Prior to this Qua worked in Singapore for 8 years in engineering and telecommunications.

Diann De Sousa

Diann grew up in Kuwait and moved abroad to pursue her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology. From an early age, she knew she wanted to help people, and in 2018, she got the opportunity to work in the care sector as a Support Assistant with Home Care Preferred. She knew immediately it was the right choice for her, and with Shir-Li’s guidance and support, she soon progressed to become a Team Leader. In March 2022, Diann became the care coordinator for the company. Diann studies for her care management qualification and, in the summer of 2024, became the registered care manager at Home Care Preferred in Barnet.

Diann is a fun-loving person who works well with people of different age groups. She enjoys challenges in life and is willing to explore new adventures. When she is not working, she likes spending time with her family, especially her nephew’s, watching a movie, or reading a book.

Michaela has worked in the care sector since 2012. She joined Home Care Preferred in Barnet in 2021 as a Support Assistant and was promoted to a Team Leader in the summer of 2023.

Growing up, I always found great joy in connecting with the older generation. There was something deeply rewarding about hearing their stories, understanding their needs, and offering my support. This passion naturally led me into a career as a support assistant. After I gained experience, it was only right for me to combine my care for the elderly with my organisational skills, becoming a Care Coordinator.

As a Care Coordinator, I get the unique opportunity to interact with both the carers and the clients, forming meaningful relationships with both. This role allows me to act as a bridge, ensuring that the needs of the clients are met with empathy, attention, and efficiency.
