Overall Experience

Well-organised care company, very flexible with requests. Find them very helpful and willing to please. The only small issue with attendance times lunch and tea can be a little early and differ from one day to the next. Other than this, we are very happy.

Overall Experience

Second to None has provided excellent service. The staff are kind, courteous and polite. They have patience with my dad and give him good care. They talk to him and laugh with him and do as much as they can for him. The best thing I did was move to Second to None. All-round good service.

In the last year, since my cousin has moved over to Second to None Care from another dom care provider, the change in him has been amazing. They are lovely with him, and they know his routine and how to handle his moods. I have only had to have a word with one individual carer, who made it quite clear she didn't like him at all and didn't interact with him, and left the other carers to do the work. Other than that, Second to None provides an absolutely amazing service. He loves the staff, and they love him. He's become such a happy chappy since moving over. And I can't recommend the service enough.

Overall Experience
I would have said they ran a decent service apart from the incessant complaining about what a hard day they were always having instead of coming in and making my mother feel special and not a burden. However, they have just dropped us right in it by handing the care package back to the local authority with the minimum required notice. Not even a courtesy call to us directly to say they were doing it. We now find ourselves in a position of no care with only three days left to go.
They must have been thinking of doing this for a while so with a heads up in advance we might have been better prepared but as it is now, a duty of care is out of the window and my loved one is sick with worry about the future.
Second to none in looking after themselves first, and not their clients.

Some of the staff have been excellent but not all that have been had been trained unlike what it says on the website.

Overall Experience

I can’t thank Second to None enough for what they have done for Dad and for us as a family. Dad was able to stay at home for 8-months longer than anticipated with their help. They looked after him, understood him and also cared about us as a family. They took the time to understand him and what mattered to him. His regular carer was outstanding - we couldn’t have asked for anything more than for people he doesn’t know to care for him as we do. Thank you for looking after Dad - we’ll never forget the care you gave to him and to us as a family. Thank you.

Overall Experience

Very early days, so still settling in. Quite a few different girls to find there was around so difficult to judge. Visiting hours around set hour quite variable so far. Sometime earlier than plan and sometimes late making meal arrangements difficult to plan. Ideally would like to say + 20mins of agreed optimum times 9.20 am morning 30mins, 5.30 pm evening 30 mins and 13.30 lunch (small).

We are very happy with the care and support that has been given to Dad. The carers, particularly Dad's regular carer, have an excellent relationship with him. We have been most impressed that they have taken the time to get to know Dad, understand what he enjoys most, and then focus their time and energy on those activities. An excellent service.

We had an issue in December, Dad (Mam's carer) had to go into the hospital overnight. As a family, we're new to Mam receiving care (since June 20) and didn't know what to do. I contacted Second to None and explained the situation. We couldn't believe the help and support we received as a result - they totally deserve an award for going above and beyond the call of duty! They coordinated with the emergency response team, secured a nursing home bed for the night for Mam and supported getting her to and from the nursing home. We could not have asked for anything more - absolutely brilliant! Mam has carers from Second to None 3x a day, without exception, they're friendly, chatty, very professional and treat Mam as the individual she is, not just a name on their list. Dad's obviously very protective, and they look out for him too, letting me know immediately if they have any concerns. As I live a flight away, it is such a relief to know I have total trust in the care and support they receive.

Overall Experience

I recently transferred to this company from another company. It's been really good, everything I need is provided to me, and if I need extra I ring up and they try to set it up. I have met a lot of the staff, and they all are professional and willing to help me keep the bit of independence I have. Had no problems, so far all been excellent.

I recently moved to Second to None Care from another company on 1st of October, I transferred over with my carer who moved companies. I have to say that the company has been fantastic, and nothing is any trouble. The carers I have when my carer is off have been great, and they are all friendly and attentive. The manager is very understanding. I’m so happy with the choice of care company I have gone with.

Second to None have been lifesavers for our family and our dad who was widowed suddenly at age 92 at the height of the pandemic. Despair was all we could feel but the Managing Director gave us all the practical help and advice that was needed and reacted quickly to the crisis.
Nothing was too much trouble for her and the individual carers were always willing to listen to concerns and to adapt to changes as they occurred.
Dad had the same carers allocated to him so he was able to forge a trusting relationship with them which was so important as he was alone a lot of the time and is blind. They learned quickly to accommodate his needs and always treated him with great respect and compassion.
We have all been so impressed with the level of individual care and competence from dad’s carers and would not hesitate to recommend Second to None.

The Managing Director takes a great personal interest in her clients and clearly strives for and expects the very best. She has high standards and it shows.

Overall Experience
During Covid-19 pandemic lock-down my mum was discharged from hospital. The swift action and advice from Second to None Care supported the whole family. Without their visits (four times each day) we would not have coped. We admired their professionalism and determination to overcome everyday problems alongside the ones created by the pandemic.

There are no complaints -only compliments for a company that lives up to its name!

Second to None Care took over the care of my mother at extremely short notice. We found them to be very polite and knowledgeable, were almost always on time and if they were going to be late would contact us by phone.

I can say that they were very professional and I cannot praise or recommend them enough. It was a pleasure having them in our home to look after our 90-year-old mother.

I do not have the words to express how thankful I am to the manager for her professionalism and compassion when preparing a care package for my dad in emergency circumstances, especially as I was locked-down in a different county and unable to visit my poor dad. I felt safe and confident that I had found the best possible care for my dad. There was a totally personal touch, and she requested many details about Dad so that the carers would know plenty about him before they arrived. Carers have been sensitive and caring in a really lovely way and have made a very difficult time easier.
