Home Instead Isle of Wight is a family-owned local home care provider, which is part of the Home Instead network. Home Instead became the first care provider to receive the Queen's Award for Enterprise for its innovative approach to care at home. They are also delighted to have been rated Outstanding by The Care Quality Commission in December 2021 and are currently one of few elderly domiciliary care providers to be rated outstanding overall on the Island.

The model of care followed is fully bespoke and tailored to each individual client's wishes and needs. Experienced, trained Care Professionals are matched with clients based on factors such as common interests and skills required and the consistency of the same Care Professionals visiting at the same times is maintained to enable a relationship of trust to develop.

Home Instead provides a minimum call time of 45 minutes or an hour if personal hygiene support is required. This allows the service to be flexible to the daily changing needs of their clients and ensure that care can be led by the client and supported by their Care Professional. Home Instead are able to provide a range of services including home help, companionship and meal preparation to personal care and complex care services such as oxygen, nebulisation, PEG or Tracheostomy Care.   

Home Instead provides a professional training program that underpins Care Professionals practical experience and enhances the knowledge of their Care Professional team. They also have an in-house Training Lead and Health Professional ensuring Care Professionals have the correct knowledge and experience to support their clients.

My elderly mother has been receiving care and support from Home Instead since March 2021. It has been a most successful experience both for her and for her family as we know that she has confidence and the pleasure of companionship with each of the caregivers.


Mum is treated with dignity and with

care in all aspects of her personal well-being. She is very fond of some of the ladies that come to her and looks forward to their company. I am kept informed if a caregiver raises any concerns and I have a trusted and friendly relationship with all at the office. Home Instead provides an excellent service. We can't thank you enough!

My caregivers are very well prepared by this, their excellent care management company and they in return are excellent caregivers too. They are my friends. They say they have never worked for a better care company, I have always found the company very approachable and sympathetic towards any requests

I have been very impressed by Home Instead from the outset.
First contacts with my godmother were excellent and she felt very happy to trust all the carers. The administrative staff go that little bit to ensure she receives the best care during this difficult post-COVID time, when COVID is still really
a problem for people trying to organise staff. Recently my godmother has been in hospital and again, the office staff have liaised brilliantly with me and other agencies. Well done all!

My experience with all the girls has been excellent. They have made my life easier by helping to prepare meals, chopping vegetables, opening jars etc because my hands often let me down, I find the vacuum cleaner difficult too.

Home Instead (Isle of Wight) have been providing twice-daily visits to my mother for just over a year and we have been very happy with the service they have provided throughout. The job of carers and care agencies has been very challenging during the pandemic, but Home Instead have maintained a regular
and punctual service to my Mum. My mum isn't highly dependent on care, but her mobility at home has become more restricted and she does need help with tasks such as bathing and personal care, as well as preparing lunch and meals in the evening etc. The carers have always been friendly, patient and cheerful and, with visits of two hours each time, they have been able to establish a very good, close relationship with my Mum. I appreciate that a lot goes on "behind the scenes" back at the office organising quality carers and sorting out shift rotas etc and we are grateful for the time they put in. If I need to communicate with the office, this is always a straightforward task! Highly recommended!

At last a carer service I can feel safe to leave my wife who has dementia with and not worry about when I go out. They are very focused on the care my wife needs and my wife is happy and settled with the staff. I have no hesitation recommending this company.

My father returned from hospital and respite care with his Alzheimers and continence issues worsened, meaning that we were no longer able to look after him as a family. After the Local Authority failed to get their act together I was very lucky to be recommended Home Instead.
It is obvious that those
running the company genuinely care about their clients, and this is reflected in their recruitment policy. Without exception, everyone who attended to look after Dad over 3 months were kind, helpful and caring, and always improved Dad's (and our) mood. Care was always taken to ensure any new carers knew everything necessary to look after Dad seamlessly. The carers were always prompt, even when things went wrong with previous clients I think the biggest delay was 15 minutes.
I think perhaps the greatest compliment I can pay is to say I never looked at the rota, as it didn't matter. We knew every carer was great.

The carers that visit are incredibly kind, thoughtful and have tried really hard to keep the spirits up during the last twelve months. They think of creative ways to plan meals to support balancing her blood sugars. Although there is three visits every day, she has a small team with the same three or
four ladies and this makes a huge difference as they all know her so well. My sister-in-law never complains and enjoys the visits with the ladies, they even have a sing along to Alexa!

My elderly parents who are eighty nine and ninety five are determined to continue living at home together on the Isle of Wight. Mum can no longer walk and needs a great deal of support with every aspect of her daily living, whilst my Dad is a fiercely independent and difficult character, yet in need
of a lot of support himself. I live a long way from them on the mainland and over the years, have struggled with organising reliable support and care for them. It has been such a relief to have found this thoroughly professional organisation. Their well trained care givers are all kind, competent, considerate and totally trustworthy. I have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead (Isle of Wight).

The carers always gave me sound advice and excellent support. They fully understood my husband's condition and treated him with compassion and respect. He always enjoyed their company. Sadly he moved into a care home because my physical and mental state were beginning to deteriorate.

Home Instead looked after my mother for almost five months before she moved in a nursing home. All the carers were excellent, and my mother spoke highly of them. Their approach is thoroughly professional whilst at the same time flexible to accommodate changing needs and a pleasure to deal with.
