Unique Senior Care

After a brief stay in hospital my father needed full-time care. Unique Senior Care were really supportive and helpful and quick in getting this sorted out for us. The manager was great with my dad on the initial visit and helped him understand what was happening. We had two carers on a two-week rotation and both of them treated my father with respect and were very patient with him. He loved their cooking! It would have been easier if both had transport to take my dad out on trips. We can't fault the service we received.

Unique Senior Care has been a fantastic service for us, it was important to us that it was a local company and we liked it that Mum had the same carer most days and occasionally another two carers, all of whom were excellent, professional, kind and hardworking. We wouldn't hesitate to use Unique Care in the future should the need arise.

Most importantly we have felt at all times that they cared.

In the relatively short time my aunt's main carer has been visiting my 93-year-old aunt with Alzheimer's/progressive vascular dementia, she has built a delightful relationship with her. I am equally pleased with the email responses I have had from the company. I can feel the sense of commitment in Unique Senior Care's personnel. It has improved my peace of mind.

I have had Unique carers for almost two years and always found them to be kind, caring, thoughtful, on time and willing to do extra jobs around the house. They take special care of my personal needs and care as I am wheelchair-bound now after a leg amputation. I would recommend them above any other agencies I have had, although there have been staffing issues/problems at times. They endeavour to send someone who I know. I feel very lucky to be able to have Unique Care.

Unique Senior Care were a lifeline when my mother was taken into hospital and no longer able to be the primary carer for my father. They sent out staff to help morning and evening at incredibly short notice, including while both my parents had Covid. I have nothing but praise for the excellent care my father continues to receive. His primary carer from Unique Senior Care is nothing short of outstanding. She brings laughter and fun into their home and they look forward to seeing her and chatting with her. She is incredibly caring and goes above and beyond, more like a friend or family member than someone paid to do a job.

From the very first phone call I made to Unique Senior Care, I have been extremely impressed at their professionalism, consideration and genuine care they have given firstly to myself but mainly the care they give to my uncle. The carers that go to my uncle are absolutely outstanding with how they interact and provide care for my uncle. I highly recommend them and thank you to the care supervisor, who is very approachable and helpful.

We used the home care service from Unique during 2021/2022 for my elderly parents, allowing them to remain independent in their own bungalow. Aged 95, my father's health deteriorated significantly, requiring nursing dementia care in a nursing home. We continued with Unique to handle my mother's personal care until she too decided to go to live in a care home. We found the service received to be punctual, reliable, safe and caring. One particular carer cooked dinners for Mum, which she really enjoyed. All carers were attentive, one effectively handling an emergency call when Mum had a fall. Communications are efficient and we enjoyed a good relationship with the management and office staff. Thank you to all at Unique who cared for both my parents and for the kind support you offered during a difficult time for our family.

Most importantly, having just finished the first two weeks of live-in care, we could not have asked for more from a caregiver, who has taken wonderful care of my mum, cooking her nutritious meals, making sure she is clean, comfortable and safe and providing excellent company. It feels such a relief to know that my mum is in good hands while also able to stay in her home. Thank you, Unique Senior Care.

Unique Senior Care is a new appointment for us as Mum has recently moved from a family home into a retirement apartment. One particular member of staff has been really helpful in the early days as we have been setting up Mum with the appropriate care and support in her new home. She has been especially helpful with providing support for medical appointments.

I was extremely pleased with the service. They were clean, punctual, friendly, and very much wanted to help me (a broken left shoulder).

Unique Care looks after my friend, and since they have been going, I have noticed a positive change in my friend. She is more confident now, started going out with the carer and has not been out of the house since Covid. Amazing company - cannot recommend them enough.

My Dad, who has memory issues and is physically frail, has been of concern to us for some time as he was refusing to eat anything other than sweet stuff and had been refusing hot meals. After the first visit, he hasn’t looked back - eating a main meal and a pudding. I can’t thank the carers enough for what they are doing. He is even asking for vegetables. From the very first contact, Unique care have been efficient, caring and professional. It is a great relief to know that he is being so well looked after by the whole team. Unique was found by my daughter. Met the manager and carers. All have been caring and considerate. Nothing is too much trouble.

I would thoroughly recommend this company the same way they came highly recommended to me. Management are always contactable and match great, quality carers with Mom. They are all calming and knowledgeable, especially with dementia. Also, they were amazingly helpful and respectful during a recent 111 emergency call. Well done Unique, a massive thank you.

My wife has Alzheimer’s and since March 2021, we engaged Unique Senior Care to provide support at home. One member of staff, in particular, was recommended to us as the preferred carer and she has been in place right up until my wife had to go into hospital recently. As far as I’m concerned, she has been a credit to both her company and the caring profession. Never late, trustworthy, honest and also providing a tremendous friendship to both my wife and myself, regularly going the extra mile. Thanks for all your help.

My mum has lived in the same house for 60 years. Her mobility has become increasingly impaired but thanks to the team at Unique, she has been able to continue living independently and I can't emphasise how important that has been for her. Unique's carers have shown kindness, consideration and respect at all times. They are also completely trustworthy. They assessed her care needs carefully and are prepared to make adjustments if they change. After a spell in hospital, they were ready and waiting to resume her enhanced care. Unique makes sure any new carer is introduced to my mum before they start and although she has favourites they are all highly motivated to provide the best possible service. The care manager liaises closely with me and shares any concerns and offers advice. I have been very impressed and at times, extremely touched by their dedication to their job, particularly in these difficult times.

Unfortunately, my husband's dementia has progressed and he has now gone into residential care. However, Unique made it possible for me to cope until August 2021. All our carers were fantastic and even though they needed to do some very personal things for him, he adored them all and saw them as friends. As for me, I know I couldn't have managed without them. The support they gave me was wonderful.

My 85-year-old parents had been living independently, although my father had mobility problems. When my mother broke her wrist, we were in need of help. A neighbour recommended Unique who immediately sent a manager round and a programme was drawn up and implemented immediately. We have had carers for two months now and they have been exceptional. Always punctual, friendly, patient and efficient. The policy of only sending two carers helped my parents, reducing anxiety. As my mother has improved, we have been able to scale back but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use Unique for any future requirements which may arise.
