Right at Home (Oxford)

My sister and I would like to thank the Right at Home team for all the help over the last few years. It was very important for Dad that he could stay in his own home. That would not have been possible without the superb care and support provided by Right at Home. It far exceeded our expectations and we will forever be grateful.

In a nutshell if you are asking yourself that indefinable question: Will they get it? They do.

I want to praise the wonderful care and positive proactive support we have received especially from the care coordinators over the last few weeks. My dad has been in hospital and so we had to make a number of changes to the care patterns, including contact with Right at Home at weekends. We also received very helpful support related to discharge. I have been so impressed by the kindness and flexibility of your service at a difficult time for our family. It has made a huge difference to us. I wanted to nominate some people for an extra mile award, please can you explain how I can do that. Thank you so very much!

Right at Home has been brilliant! Their communication has been clear and prompt and they have been friendly, kind and very helpful throughout. We're still in the early days and navigating Dad's change from independence to needing help is not uncomplicated, but I feel I can trust the lovely RAH team to ease the transition and treat Dad like a human being rather than a problem. Absolutely wonderful service. We used them for daily care for my mum who has dementia and also for my dad who was receiving palliative care at home. We were able to tap into the night cover to help him with personal care so that family members could sleep. All the carers, manager and care coordinator have been outstanding in their care and compassion. Thank you from my heart.

Although Right at Home was only needed to attend to my father for the final few days of his life, they did a wonderful job. During that time, the carers were all extremely kind and experienced. They carried out a number of tasks four times a day that ensured my dad was as comfortable as he could be and he retained his dignity.

We are very pleased with the service provided by Right at Home (Oxford) for my partner and the way in which they have dealt with his increasing needs. We began last autumn, with companionship one morning a week. But, a sudden change in his health required immediate overnight care and a more professional approach, which they managed quickly and efficiently. The staff are delightful and the office coordinators have been very helpful, often having to organise care very quickly, particularly during the daytime. We, as a family, are so glad that he is now so well looked after and cared for in his own home.

Mum and the family have been very happy with Right at Home (Oxford). From the start, we were impressed with the way they do things differently from previous care providers we've had. For example; introducing Mum to her carers before the care started, having a weekly rota of the carers visiting Mum so she knows who will be visiting, and being able to have direct feedback from every visit via the daily app. All this has been fantastic. But, most importantly, the carers have been punctual, kind, gentle and very caring with Mum. Mum is very happy with the care she receives and also enjoys chatting to them. We feel, as a family, reassured that Mum is being looked after with respect and professionalism.

All the staff at Right at Home Oxford have been delightful. They managed to set up care at short notice for my aunt, increased it when requested and quickly adjusted when requirements changed due to hospital admission/discharge. The coordinator has a can-do attitude and never makes you feel that you're a nuisance. She also went the extra mile when my aunt had a fall when she was alone in the house and activated her wrist alarm. Although it wasn't Right at Home's responsibility she went around to check on her, called the ambulance and stayed with her for several hours, updating family who are 60 miles away. It was so reassuring. The regular carer looks for things to do even though my aunt isn't very good at asking for assistance. Nothing is too much trouble.

After six months so far with Right at Home the family are very happy with the care provided twice a day to our mother. The carers are always punctual, understand mums needs and deliver a level of care at home that enables her to live as full a life as possible, sometimes going over and above for mum. The company always try to accommodate changes to visit times due to hospital visits, sometimes at short notice, and we always know in advance which carers will be visiting, something mum finds really useful. Right at Home give the family confidence that her needs are being met with respect and professionalism.

I recommend them highly for their dedication.

Our aim has always been to keep dad in his own home and the whole team at Right at Home are helping us to do this. To do this we need regular communication from the office and the carers, which we have. We need to feel the confidence, caring, and commitment of all the staff, which we do. Finally, we need to see that dad is happy and cared for, which he is. We cannot thank the team at Right at Home enough for all they’ve done and are doing which is enabling us to keep our dad happy, safe, and cared for properly in his own home. With all our appreciation, a very big thank you to the whole team.

Right At Home have been absolutely brilliant. We had been working with a different agency and things had gone pretty wrong. We were really worried whether we would ever be able to get the care our parent needed, in a way that our parent could accept. Staff helped us work out how to avoid problems before they happen, always communicates with compassion and care and is full of helpful practical advice. The staff have been amazing.

We are very pleased with the daily care my father has received following his increased need for support at home. The team at Right at Home were very accommodating when setting up the care arrangement and has continued to be easy to contact, flexible and helpful in the ongoing management.

My father enjoys his interactions with the kind carers who support him and appreciates receiving care from the same small team. The service provided by Right at Home has enabled him to remain at home safely and gives his family members confidence that he has dependable support even when we are unable to do that ourselves.

I cannot thank Right at Home enough. My husband was ready to leave hospital at the end of January after a stay of several weeks and I was warned that NHS care would not be available for at least two or three weeks and that there was a chance that they would simply move him to a local hotel because they wanted his bed. I was desperate when I contacted Right at Home who, although very busy, managed to arrange to help us out so that I could bring him home. Carers from Right at Home visited us daily in the mornings, washed and dressed my husband, kept his bedroom immaculate and made him innumerable cups of tea! Our carers were a complete delight; warm and friendly, always punctual, and extremely careful and they always treated my husband with respect and preserved his dignity. They kept him positive and me sane. They became our friends and we will miss them now that we can manage without them.

The entire experience has been completely satisfactory. The company was helpful regarding starting and finished dates; every aspect was inspected and explained, and security - healthwise and daily living - was strict but not invasive. The carer was kind and efficient and she was an excellent cook who made eating a pleasure. I feel much better after four weeks care.

Right At Home Oxford have been wonderful in the time they have been providing care for my mother. All the carers we have had have been reliable, professional, and extremely caring. The management team has been excellent in contacting occupational therapists, GP's and District Nurses to help to ensure that mum receives the external help she requires. They are also very good at liaising with the family regarding mum’s needs and care. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in the Oxford area requiring care.

I have already recommended them to other people I know who are looking for carers. They have very good attention to detail and they told us about Assisted Living Allowance which was very good of them.
