Visiting Angels have been caring for my mum for the last few months. From the initial telephone call onwards they have been amazing not only a comfort to mum but also to me. The management team have gone above and beyond to accommodate mum's needs as they change and become more demanding and the carers truly are angels! They have taken the time to build a relationship with mum and my family and add a personal touch that offers reassurance and confidence that mum is being ‘cared for’, for example, playing her favourite music and giving her encouragement. Mum has dementia and is sometimes uncooperative but the angels have built such trust that she responds positively to their prompts. I live a distance away from my mum but can log in and read the reports daily and this reassures me that all is well. Communication between management, carers and myself is great and I know that someone is always there if needed. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Visiting Angels.

We could not fault the service we received from the Visiting Angels for our father. From the very first phone conversation, we were reassured that the service to be provided would be tailored to meet our and our father’s needs. That initial conversation explained the high standards, qualities and requirements their staff must meet to be able to provide the expected high level of care. The next step was for us and our father to meet with a care manager to go through our father's needs to develop, produce and agree on a care plan. We (and our father) were happy with everything we had heard and been demonstrated. The care started almost immediately and the staff always arrived within the agreed times and the level of care exceeded all our expectations, there were daily reports of what our father had eaten, drank, medication taken, toilet activities, mood etc. Any concerns were raised in a timely manner and nothing was too much trouble. We are confident our father received the very best care.

We sourced care from Visiting Angels for Mother who was finding it increasingly difficult to live independently at home. The professional manner in which she was looked after was excellent and she struck up a close relationship with the carer for which we are grateful.
Sadly Mum suffered a nasty fall after only a short time of receiving care and was admitted to hospital. At discharge, she was found respite care in a suitable nursing home but sadly deteriorated to such an extent that this has become permanent for her.

We have no hesitation in recommending Visiting Angels to anyone looking for professional, compassionate care in the future.

Absolutely brilliant, the level of care and support is second to none, we were quite satisfied with mum's previous carers, but Visiting Angels have taken caring to a higher level. Under their care mum has made a marked improvement in getting better.

My Uncle has needed a care package for some time but has resisted, not wanting people in his house, so his situation just got worse until he was safeguarded into hospital and had to reluctantly accept help to go home. Visiting Angels came to access him and could not have been kinder. He is treated with respect all the time and looks so much better, his personal care is done with dignity, although he resists changing his clothes he now does and the whole house has a much better feel, making it more of a pleasure to visit rather than a chore. A friend popped in with a Christmas card yesterday, she hadn’t seen him for many months and was over the moon to see how well he looks. Thank you Angels.

Without Visiting Angels, I’m not quite sure what we would have done. They provided Mum with wonderful care, dignity and respect at a very difficult time in our lives. Mum’s dementia at bedtime could be challenging but this was met with care, great patience and humour from the whole team. Scheduled times were always adhered to throughout the day. I would have no hesitation in recommending Visiting Angels to families looking for care for a loved one.

My mum needed some help after a fall. Although she only needed Visiting Angels - East Staffordshire for a short time they were always kind, caring and professional. The help was tailored to her specific needs and very flexible. If she needs help in the future, I would not hesitate to use them again.

I am very pleased with the standard of service and care provided by Visiting Angels. It was of vital importance that the elderly gentleman requiring care, be matched with carers suited to his interests and needs. I was impressed by the level of attention to detail by the Care Manager when exactly establishing the needs so as to provide suitable carers.

The carers are lovely people, caring, conscientious, considerate, patient and most importantly, demonstrate respect and treat the gentleman with dignity and kindness. The gentleman is still the ‘boss’ in his own home, he just has ‘support’ which is what was intended and outlined in the care plan. There was also an assessment of the premises to ensure the carers had adequate facilities with which I was pleased. This demonstrated a commitment not only to the person requiring care, but also a commitment to those providing the care.

Mum's carer has visited her four times now and I am pleased that it is going really well. Mum has really taken to her and looks forward to her visits. When I rang Mum to remind her of her carer's visit she said: "She's lovely, she is". Mum's carer is very thorough, making sure that Mum has a lunchtime meal and recording everything on the nutrition chart. She also leaves notes so we can see what they have been doing.

Hi, I'm Ashleigh! I started my career in care over 11 years ago and have never looked back. I have experienced highs and lows in this sector but this has made me the person I am today. I always strive to go above and beyond and I'm not afraid to admit I am a bit of a perfectionist.

I want to empower our angels to be the best they can be and deliver excellent quality care and support. I use my knowledge, experience and abilities to train and maintain staff by promoting carer centricity along with exceptional support and maintaining high standards.

My ongoing aim is to support our angels to grow their wings brighter and stronger whilst supporting them to deliver all-around person-centred care. Care is not just a job, it's a journey! A journey we want to help our angels grow in and feel satisfaction for the work and support they give to our amazing clients.

I began working in the care sector at the age of 17, while studying Child Care at College, I started working part-time in a Nursing Home close to where I live. I stayed for a few years alongside my studies, and when I qualified, I started working in a children's nursery and eventually became Room Leader for the baby unit.

As years passed, I decided to try Domiciliary Care and got a job within a company where I slowly made my way up to the Care Co-ordinator role. I spent many happy years there liaising with social workers and families of the clients we delivered care to.

During my career I have worked in several establishments gaining experience along the way, I have been a private nanny for a family who looked after me well and I accompanied them on their family holidays and would also do some extra babysitting for them a few evenings a week, again I spent many happy years with them up to the point the children were starting school. I have also supported young people with complex needs, but after having my own children, I felt I couldn’t carry out my role to support children with complex needs on a part-time basis and needed something more flexible to work around my children, which led me to Visiting Angels.

I started my VA journey as a Caregiver during the month of November 2020 the year Visiting Angels opened their doors, and now have worked my way up to being a Care Team Leader. I am currently learning my new role and I hope to gain more experience along the way. I enjoy aiding people and maintaining their independence in their own homes all whilst delivering the best possible care.
