Our mum has been receiving support from BelleVie for just over a year after returning home from a lengthy hospital stay. With close family living at a long distance, we were considering a care home for Mum until BelleVie was recommended to us.
Staff visit Mum three times a day, assisting with personal care, housework, medication and shopping. BelleVie carers are our eyes and ears while Mum is able to stay in the comfort of her own home and enjoys the quality care and friendships she has made with all the staff. All visits are documented really well and let us know how Mum is doing.

We really appreciate the amazing standard of care you all provide, thank you.

I've been using BelleVie (Northumberland) since moving to the area almost a year ago. My carers have become like friends to me, they take me out for some sea air, coffee and a chat. It does me the world of good. They help me with shopping and any other errands. They help me to maintain my independence with dignity.

Different carers accompany my brother on outings. He likes all of them and they are flexible, happy to walk or drive, dependent on the weather. He would prefer to know who is coming each week, a problem we've raised but has not been sorted.

Reply from Jill Elliott, Relationship Lead at BelleVie (Hexham, Whitley Bay, Morpeth, Ponteland & Consett)

Good afternoon. Thank you so much for taking the time to write the review and for the additional feedback. I have spoken with the care team and they will be able to let your brother and yourself know who is visiting him each week. Please let me know if you have any other queries I can support you with.

I have found the service with BelleVie to be excellent. My father passed away in February 2024, my mother has fairly significant care needs and my father was her main carer. We needed to set up a care package as quickly as possible and Bellevie arranged an assessment within a few days and began providing care within a week of the request.
They currently visit three times per day, assist with medication, and social interaction, taking her to a daycare centre, and settling her at night time. They also do bits of cleaning and shopping for her, as well as craft activities and games.

All of the staff have been very kind and supportive and really committed to their work. My mum likes them all. BelleVie also has an app where you can see the care notes as soon as they are uploaded, so we can see exactly what has been going on. In addition, care staff send me photos of my mum's artwork that she has completed at the day centre. I live a few hour's drive away so it's good to get these updates.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this wonderful review. The care team enjoy visiting your Mum and taking her out to her daycare centre. It's good to know that you have peace of mind and enjoy receiving the updates via our app. I will pass you kind comments onto the care team.

All aspects of my dad's care provided by BelleVie have been excellent. Everyone, from management to the carers, has been brilliant, being so supportive of our family and most importantly, my dad's needs. The quality of care has been exceptional and I feel my dad is now being cared for in a safe and caring environment in his own home. Dad is also very happy, despite our initial concerns that he would not accept anyone going in to help him, as he welcomes all the carers into his home and thoroughly enjoys their company and is appreciative of their support.

BelleVie also provided exceptional care when Dad went into hospital, with continued visits, advice and help in facilitating his discharge and providing additional care requirements, meaning he could return to his home rather than descend into alternative residential care.

Good care considering the difficulties you experience caring for my aunt. Your staff are extremely patient and caring in a very awkward and testing environment. My aunt is unable to control her bodily functions and from what l have observed there hasn't been any problem with your staff coping with helping her to go to the toilet and changing her clothes. Meals are made and served on time and dishes are washed. Overall the service and care are provided on time and proficiently.

My Mum moved to Hexham and her new flat in February and since taking over her care in March BelleVie (Hexham, South Northumberland, Whitley Bay and Morpeth) have given superb support and really helped Mum settle in and feel at home.
It's fair to say my Mum was quite wary of having carers so it's been lovely to see her thrive and enjoy her morning visits.

I very much appreciate the peace of mind Mum having such lovely carers gives me.

‘Excellent, cannot fault anything, please tell them that'.
Those were the first words that my mother said when I mentioned I had been asked to do a review for BelleVie. At first, my mum was very reluctant to have help but as she worsened she accepted she needed it. However, the care she is receiving has quickly changed her mind and she could not be happier, she feels she has made real friends with the ladies that care for her - they cannot do enough to help.
From my perspective, it lessens the worry, knowing that she is happy with the care and gets to bed safely at night.

Thank you.

Before we were introduced to BelleVie, it was looking increasingly likely that my mother was going to need permanent residential care after a prolonged stay in the hospital.
Their professionalism and individualised approach to care provision has meant that instead, she has been able to stay in her own home with her husband, enjoying excellent quality service from the company. They have never been let down and every effort has always been made to accommodate her needs. Without BelleVie my dad could not have coped with my mum’s care needs and they would not have been able to share this precious time that they now have together.
Safeguarding and safety needs are always met with clear reliable feedback from the carers and the managers when concerns may need to be raised. As a result prompt and appropriate actions have always been taken to ensure that my mum has the best possible experience.

I can’t thank this company enough.

Over the past year, Mum has had the most amazing care and support and kind friendly staff who have looked after her extremely well.
Nothing is too much trouble and the staff have gone out of their way to make sure my lovely mum has had the best care to an outstanding standard.
She really really looks forward to the staff visiting and chatting with them all.

It’s very pleasing that all visits are well documented and reflect exactly what has happened during their visit. Thank you so much we appreciate everything you are doing so Mum can stay at home.

My dad looks forward to the daily visits by the carers and thinks they are all lovely. They make sure he’s OK, and chat while making him something to eat and drink and do odd jobs like hovering and picking up some milk, bread or laundry. They give me peace of mind as I work away from home and can only visit at the weekend.

As a family we were concerned about strangers looking after Mum in her home. Mum had always been a very independent lady. The team at BelleVie have been patient with my enquiries and questions even after the visit at home. They adapted Mum's care plan over the weeks when visiting and confirmed all with us.
We loved the Birdie app so we could see how Mum was each visit.
The care team who did each visit adapted to our requests , more importantly Mum enjoyed their company, they had the patience to listen to her memories and saw if she needed extra time on her visit. The team were efficient contacted the Doctor on our behalf .

Thank you for the care .

Finding a top-class care provider for your parents to remain safe, secure and happy in their own home is no easy task. From the very first phone contact, we were impressed by the BelleVie team and their professional approach to putting in place a package that suited our parents' needs. The team who provide the care on the ground, are superb and have made an enormous difference to the lives of our parents. In no time at all, they have built up a healthy rapport with us all and more importantly, have delivered the essential day to day services to help our parents to remain living independently. All of the highly skilled team are quietly efficient and get on with the job with total dignity and respect for our parents. It is very reassuring to know that as needs may change over time, that the package we have in place, can be easily augmented without any fuss or bother. We couldn't recommend BelleVie more highly.

BelleVie was recommended to us by a colleague at work. We needed support for our Dad who has mild dementia. From the initial phone call with the manager, we arranged a home visit and were introduced to the development coach. He explained more about the service they could offer and we discussed what we needed to support our Dad. Dad now has daily visits from friendly and helpful support workers. Nothing is too much trouble. They not only keep him company but also ensure he eats, drinks and takes his daily medications. We have peace of mind knowing that he is in safe hands and we are reassured that he is happy and content in his own home. We also get daily feedback to let us know how Dad is getting on. We would definitely recommend BelleVie!
