Care Legacy provided care to my mother over a period of 3 years. Each carer was cheerful & respectful and demonstrated a genuine desire to help. In her final days of her life, when my mother was on end of life care, carers came in 4 times a day to provide personal care. The care durign this period was
exemplary. Care was provided compassionately and sensitively with a genuine concern for my mother's comfort. I cannot recommend them enough.
Reply from Matthew Booth, Director at Care Legacy LancasterThank you for taking the time to share your experience and for trusting Care Legacy to support your mother over those three years.

Your kind words about our carers and the support given during your mother's final days mean a great deal to us. We will be sure to share your feedback with the team. My mother had been working and had sudden change in her health and abilities to be able to attended her own activities of daily living . We had recognised this and told by NHS services that she required care from now on . This was a very emotional time for us and not what we had been expecting. All
tteam a care legacy where brilliant with my mum and us has anxious family .My mum took to her carer from day one he made the time to listen and asked what was important to her , and her preference and routines , although I know he would have been given a care plan before he arrived , this gave the reassurance she needed . My mum has the same 2 to 3 carers every visit this has provide constant reassurance to us knowing who's there . I can't Thankyou you all enough , as most families I have guilt that I can't provide the care my mum now needs and handing over that responsibility is really difficult but I know my Mum is happy with you , she has her needs met and she is safe .
Reply from Matthew Booth, Director at Care Legacy LancasterThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how emotional it can be when a loved one suddenly needs support, and we're really grateful you trusted Care Legacy to care for your mum. It means a lot to hear that our team helped provide reassurance during such a difficult time. Consistency and taking the time to listen to what matters most to the people we support is very important to us, so it's lovely to know this made a difference for your mum and your family.
Thank you again for your kind words - we will be sure to share them with the team

Care Legacy provided palliative care to my mother on very short notice. They were very respectful and showed tremendous empathy to my Mum over the brief time they provided personal care. The compassion shown was appreciated.
Reply from Matthew Booth, Director at Care Legacy LancasterThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. It was truly an honour to support your Mum during such an important and sensitive time.
Our team understands how difficult these moments can be for families, and we are proud to have been able to provide care with dignity, compassion, and respect. We cannot say enough good things about this family run company. The care they have shown our mother has been outstanding. The carers treat her with dignity and respect, and they really go the extra mile to make sure she is well looked after. The support we have received as a family, from the whole
team, has been excellent, everyone is very knowledgeable about working with other care providers, such as gps, social services, occupational therapy, etc. and we are kept fully informed and updated. We cannot thank everyone enough and feel very glad we chose Care Legacy to look after our mother.
Reply from Matthew Booth, Director at Care Legacy LancasterThank you so much for your kind review. It is our pleasure to care for your mum. I will be sure to pass your kind words onto our amazing team.

A kind ,caring and thoughtful team ,very understanding when Mum's behaviour was a little bizarre ,
"It's nothing we've not seen before "
I was confident that she was well looked after.
Mum always knew who was coming at the next visit ,even if she couldn't remember their name.
Reply from Matthew Booth, Director at Care Legacy LancasterThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. First of since my grandmother has been receiving visits from care legacy my grandma's belongings have been going missing this was reported to the safeguarding team. Then on the 2nd of January my grandmother was found on the floor by a care assistant he phoned the family and we where there within 5 minutes
when we arrived at her house the care assistant was stood outside in the garden with my grandmother still on the floor when we as a family got there my grandmother was still on the floor it would appear she had been on the floor all night. My grandmother was cold hyperthermia had set in my grandmother was half under her bed no attempt had be made by the care assistant to move the bed or try and make my grandmother more comfortable did not even give her a blanket to try and warm her up he just stood outside. My grandmother has an infection in her legs and previously the care staff would wash cream and apply dressing as part of her care however due to changing this is not done.
Reply from Matthew Booth, Director at Care Legacy LancasterThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We recognise that this was a distressing situation for your family and we are sorry to hear that you feel unhappy with the service provided. For clarity, the care package in place was a non-nursing domiciliary service, consisting of one scheduled visit per day for meal support only. This service did not include wound care, dressing changes or other clinical interventions, which require nursing provision. On 2 January, during a scheduled visit, our care staff found the service user on the floor and immediately contacted emergency services. Staff followed live guidance from paramedics, including advice not to move the service user, and the situation was escalated to our office team, who informed the family in line with our procedures. Concerns raised regarding household items were reviewed at the time in line with our procedures, and no evidence was identified to indicate items had been removed or misused by staff.

Next Thursday May 22nd - the arrangement with the hospital had with Care Legacy ends. I have been so pleased with the care I have received over the past 3 weeks, so I have decided to stay with Care Legacy, as I feel they are the best, and at the moment, I do still need a lot of help. Thank you.

I am the daughter of their client. My mum found it very difficult to accept a care team into her home, but they made her feel comfortable and safe with them. They became a vital role in keeping my mum at home for her final months which she wanted. They quickly became good friends and mum valued their
support and friendship. As her daughter I could not of wanted a better team to care for her. They made me feel safe that when I wasn't there she was looked after with dignity and respect.. mum wasn't the easiest to care for but she accepted them the first day and enjoyed their visits. On the day of mums decline they controlled everything, and that night she passed in her own bed as she wanted thankyou to their care and support. I personally can not recommend them highly enough . Even after her death they still where there for me with support. Thankyou so much for making the last few months easier.

Care Legacy have been providing daily care to my Aunt for over 2 years and throughout that time have been reliable, proactive and extremely professional. I live over 300 miles away so to know that they are providing the high level of support and care that they do, has been invaluable to my peace of
mind. They have regularly gone above and beyond their daily responsibilities to ensure that she attends appointments as her memory declines. Their intervention is enabling my Aunt to remain safely in her own home, which has always been her wish. Both carers and management have been excellent.

The care, respect and attention Care Legacy has given to Mum over the last 12 months has been amazing. I honestly don't think mum would be in the place where she is today without them. She is happy, settled and healthy to the point where she can be independent but under the watchful eye of a very professional
organisation. From the moment Mum came out of hospital last year Care Legacy has been working with her to ensure she has everything she needs to make life comfortable and enjoyable on a day to day basis. They are always there, reliable, professional and always on the end of a phone when you need them. It's not a nice thought but I know we can depend on them in the future when things might not be going so well and every member of the team will ensure she is well looked after at all times.
Reply from Matthew Booth, Director at Care Legacy LancasterThank you for your kind words. I will be sure to pass your lovely wards onto our care team.

Care Legacy, one staff member and his team have been looking after my mother for just over 12 months and I can't praise them enough. They are such a kind, caring professional, team who I know really care about their clients. It is such a comfort to know that someone is regularly calling to support
mum with her needs. She loves to see them and talks about them as her friends rather than carers. I can't recommend them enough.

Care Legacy stepped in at short notice to help care for my Dad, his condition deteriorated rapidly and they were able to adapt the level of care accordingly with no stress or hassle, the care they provided was excellent, all the carers treated my Dad with such respect in his last few weeks and were
a great support to myself during such a difficult time. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I can honestly say Care Legacy are truly amazing. I highly recommend them.
We are so lucky to have found a company that shows so much kindness, compassion, care and dedication to their clients.
They are a highly professional team with years of experience. The level of care that they provide is very
hard to find. You can see this is not just a job to them they really do care from the heart.
Whilst looking after my father-in-law they showed him nothing but kindness they were very patient with him always putting his mind at ease and maintaining his dignity at all times. They always made him laugh with their banter and little jokes it made his day.
He used to look forward to seeing them It was as if he forgot about his illness and could just be himself for a little while which was lovely to see as he was in so much pain every day.
I will be forever grateful to Care Legacy for giving him the best care possible. I cannot thank them enough for their dedication to him.

My experience with Care Legacy has been excellent. The team came into our home to care for my husband, they were very professional, reliable, respectful and knowledgable. Very supportive to both my husband and myself, nothing was too much trouble, they clearly love their job and their enthusiasm was
very evident and uplifting. They were friendly, funny and a pleasure to have in our home at what is a trying time. They have the ability to make you feel at ease, less stressed. Whilst we only had them for a short time, they started as strangers that came into our home, but very soon felt like friends we have known for ages. They are a credit to their profession.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.707 for Care Legacy Lancaster is calculated as follows: ( (76 Excellents x 5) + (6 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.707

The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.5 Points for the second and third Positive Reviews, 0.25 Points for each of the next two Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Care Legacy Lancaster is based on 13 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4.825
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
