Sona has always had a passion for positive contribution. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in science, she started her career working for a reputable pharmaceutical company carrying out biomedical research to support cancer therapy.

“The positive experience helped me to look at wider opportunities to make a difference in society which led me to complete a Masters in Public Health. Since then, I have worked in the private healthcare sector. My primary role was to work with various professionals such as doctors, nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists to ensure that clients who were often vulnerable with disabilities had a positive experience with the services provided.”

There has been a big change in the number of older people seeking greater independence, wanting to stay within their own homes. Sona aims to provide a more personalised and quality service as opposed to some of the care alternatives.

“I aspired from a young age to own a business that would positively contribute to society. Running a private home care service within my local area and developing it will provide me with immense satisfaction. We would like to introduce you to Victoria Abel, care manager for Radfield Home Care Leicester East, Groby & Oadby. Victoria is responsible for the day-to-day running of the office in line with CQC regulations to ensure that the service is safe, caring, responsive and effective.

Victoria is a key point of contact for carers, clients and their families and promotes individuals’ well-being at all times.

Victoria joined the care sector in 2018 as a Care Professional and immediately fell in love with the role, spending the next two years caring for people in their own homes. In June 2020, she moved into the role of Community Care Manager, where she was responsible for a large care team, ensuring their training was up to date.

“I also oversaw the management of over 30 customers, making sure that the day-to-day care plan was reflective of their care needs and completing their reviews when needed. I took customer enquiries and completed any assessments for all areas that the business covered if needed. I was also responsible for communicating with local authorities and the NHS, supporting complex and 24 hour care packages.” Read less

Valentina Sinkova began caregiving at 16, providing personal care and support to her grandmother at home for five years. After earning a degree in Tourism Management and spending six years working in a residential care home, she joined Radfield Home Care Leicester East, Groby & Oadby as a Care Professional in March 2022. Her dedication led to a promotion to Senior Care Professional in January 2023.

In her role, Valentina supports clients to live independently in their own homes while working towards her Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care. She mentors new staff members, shares practical care knowledge with colleagues, and ensures visits deliver dignified support. Caroline brings over 16 years of professional experience to Radfield Home Care Leicester East, Groby & Oadby, having spent a decade as a qualified hairdresser and salon owner. During that time, she developed a deep appreciation for listening to older clients and supporting them to feel heard as they age. She later spent six years in business development within the further education sector, establishing community networks and professional partnerships.

As Community Partnership Manager, Caroline connects local families with tailored care services. Holding a formal qualification in customer service, she uses her listening skills and relationship-building experience to help clients remain independent and stay connected to the things that matter most to them. Read less

Anna joined adult social care following a distinguished background as a Registered Nurse, bringing clinical experience in managing complex age-related health conditions. She moved into the home care sector to deliver person-centred support with dignity and unhurried attention, enabling individuals to maintain control and live independently in their own homes.

As Community Team Leader at Radfield Home Care, Anna oversees care plans, risk assessments, and daily rota planning. She uses her background as a Palliative Care Specialist and Registered Nurse to mentor Care Professionals, ensuring care visits are safe, well-structured, and tailored to the unique needs of every client. Read less
