Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father was placed on end of life home care after a 10 week stay in hospital relating to a heart attack. His wishes was to spend his last days at home on the farm surrounded by family.

He was very weak and bed bound for the time he was at home(6 days) and Royal care were attending 3 times a

day, sometimes 4 when requested.

The teams that arrived and the care provided was absolutely fantastic. The teams would carry out tasks in a dignified and gentle manner, putting my father's comfort at their priority. They would talk to him and ask plenty how he feels and that is he comfortable. No corners were cut in regards to care and as a family we couldn't ask for anything more.

They were always easy to talk to over the phone too through all hours as I was always able to get hold of someone quickly.

I would recommend Royal care to anyone who finds themselves in a situation where extensive care is needed. Amazing people and care.

From my Father and family, thank you Royal care.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.822) out of 10 for Royal Care Canterbury is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.822 for Royal Care Canterbury is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 129 Ratings = 4.822
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.5 Points for the second and third Positive Reviews, 0.25 Points for each of the next two Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.05, 7th = 0.05, 8th = 0.05, 9th = 0.05, 10th = 0.05, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Royal Care Canterbury is based on 22 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
