As a family we feel so grateful that our mum had a referral to carers trust. Twice a week for two hours my mum gets fantastic company, full of chat and laughter that she really enjoys. The carer that comes helps with her dinners and apparently makes a good cup of tea! Mum misses her if she cannot
come but is always happy that the service sends another carer, as long as available so she does not miss out and they have also been great!
Mum is still managing in routines living independently and a worry we have is her being on her own too much and this really helps us knowing that she has some good company.
This is also a well run service. We are kept informed of holidays and change of person at this time. They assess Mums house when any changes have been made. Keep us up to date. Always friendly.
Would recommend to anyone - they are not strangers visiting they become a friend and a good friend at that!

We have a pleasant young lady comes on Thursday pm for 2 hours to care for Alan. He enjoys her visits and she looks after him well.

My mum really enjoys going out with her carer. Her carer is very good at taking my mum out and about in the community. This gives me a carers rest which I really appreciate. So we both also have a break from each other which supports our relationship. Mum receives 4hrs care for free which is fantastic
because I know not all local authorities provide this care. Thank you for providing mum with a support worker that really makes my mum laugh.

Very pleased with the care my late husband received. He was encouraged to talk to the care giver who was interested in his experiences.
I was very happy to leave him in caring, capable hands. I was confident to leave him and so was able to go out and have some me time.

I have always found the centre to be welcoming to their clients. Staff display enthusiasm in accepting clients, nothing is too much trouble for them, making the few hours they are there an enjoyable experience. It's a pleasure to have my wife attend the centre because she enjoys going.

My mum, Joan attends day care twice a week and looks forward to it each time. I know she is well looked after and it gives me a break from caring for her (she lives with me) she has mixed dementia and all her needs are met with care and professionalism. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and

My husband attends Carers Trust once a week. It gives him the opportunity to connect with others outside of the family environment. It's a very welcoming environment and gives us an opportunity to take just a little time out for myself for hair appointments etc without having to worry and feeling secure
that he is being taken care of appropriately. The staff are great and provide a warming atmosphere, coupled with a 'bit of banter'. Very reassuring!

I love bringing my husband to this warm, welcoming environment. He has been happy and settled here from the start. The girls are genuine & caring & I always drive away happily knowing he is well looked after. I feel lucky to have this facility - thank you.

The service we have been provided me and my wife by Cheryl was great. She has come over when needed and given me as a carer relief so I could carry one with my carer duties for another day's. She was also great companion to my wife making her smile and have a bit of rest of me as a husband. She was
very kind and cheerful trough her whole stay.
She also helped me when I needed to go for my appointments as I would not be able to leave my wife alone.

During our time receiving respite hours via Carers Trust we have found our support worker extremely reliable and engaging. Would recommend the services offered. We are sad that the rules have changed and we are now not eligible for this valuable and essential service.

Service has been excellent. Our current carer has gone out of her way to help us. The carer shows initiative and provides a range of activity for the client. At all times the carers have been good and they come regularly. When a substitute is provided these are often passive and not trusted by client.
Management has been helpful with the odd blip. On the whole they service provided has given a lifeline to the client.

I have always found the centre to be welcoming to their clients, making them feel valued. Staff display enthusiasm in accepting clients of various abilities. Nothing is too much trouble for them to deal with in making the few hours they are there an enjoyable experience handled with care. Clients are
stimulated with various activities to make their attendance as interesting as is possible. I therefore, have no hesitation in recommending the centre as I find it clean, comfortable seating, good facilities and extremely nice staff.
It's a pleasure to have my husband attend the centre because he enjoys going, and as a carer, I feel just as valued by the staff of the day.

The carers staff are unfailingly kind and cheerful. However because of cuts three excellent staff have left or been redeployed which has confused my husband. The cut in hours, explained as a minor change by management means that effectively sessions are now 3 1/2 hours long instead of four, and the
hard-working staff have lost money. I would have considered a rise in charges.

It is correct that the service has been slightly modified this year but to the significant benefit of the people of Kirklees. The Day Centre is providing significantly more hours this year. In 2024/25 we provided 5000 hrs of Day Centre care but his year, 2025/26 we will provide 7000 hours of Day Centre service and this is at 4 hours per client per day; a significant uplift in our service. Absolutely amazing service for my mum. She really enjoys coming and the staff are extremely helpful and caring. Mum is slowly meeting new people and always comes home with a smile. My only negative point and not sure if any one else has mentioned is my mum strugles to walk up the slanted drive way,a
hand rail might be uselful if possible otherwise please keep up the excellent work and we will keep coming.

I have found Carers Trust very reliable and helpful. It has really made a difference for my son to have regular trips out with his Personal Assistant, improving his confidence and independence. I would be happy to recommend the service to other parents looking for support to get their young people
out and about in the community.
