Broomfield have been amazing from start to finish. They listened to my parent's needs and adapted their support package as required, very quickly. They really took time to get to know Mum and Dad and they looked forward to their visits.
Mum and Dad have now chosen to go into full-time care after several
falls. I thank them for enabling Mum and Dad to stay in their home as long as they did.

Broomfield looked after my partner for two years while her health declined because of her brain tumour. The staff looked after her wonderfully well both on a professional and personal level. They genuinely cared and
were friends as well as carers. I used to say that they had restored my faith in human
nature. They would also do extra things that were not necessarily part of their job and would give me emotional support when needed.
I would hear lots of laughter while they were here, partly due to my partner's sense of humour which she kept to the end. This was all backed up by a good management team who also came to tend to her at times including the boss of the company. I shall always be grateful for everything that Broomfield did to help us through this most difficult time.

My father was cared for in his own home four times per day for more than a year with kindness from all the Broomfield Care Home Care Services staff. He enjoyed their visits and took an interest in their lives. This gave him an additional link to the outside world. As his life came to an end, the carers
were very attentive, supporting both me, my brother and my father.

Extremely friendly and professional, commenced with an introduction both of company and staff members. My wife had NHS personnel attending to her from her release from hospital. After our checks and reviews/investigations we (me, the husband, and our daughter) selected Broomfield Care Home Care Services
and held our breath. Would this company help in formulating a plan and be able to carry out all we required and expected them to undertake? The answer was a resounding yes, the staff (in our case, all ladies) were polite, sympathetic, friendly and highly professional. They discussed things with my wife but due to her illness, she may not always have understood. The ladies did manage at times to get my wife smiling and indeed laughing with their interrelationships, (no doubt part of their training to open up the relationship, show dignity and respond to patient problems and queries). Bloomfield achieved all of this. Thank you Bloomfield for helping us.

Excellent assessment process followed by excellent care and friendly staff. Flexible too in an emergency. Would use it again when needed. It takes time to deliver this kind of care and obviously has good management and vetting processes.

The carers were all very friendly and helpful. Mum enjoyed the visits and getting to know the individual carers. Problems were addressed and you felt listened to, accommodating individual needs. Trustworthy and reliable.

Broomfield was there in our time of need. This was all new to my dad having strangers in his home to help with mum. But everyone was so lovely and helpful that it was a smooth transition. Then when things needed stepping up they were there able to offer more help at appropriate times for us. They were
always at the end of the phone to help and in person not only were the carers great with Mum, they were also great with us as a family and always on hand for a hug. I would not hesitate to use them again, I can’t thank them enough.

The staff very friendly, always willing to talk through problems on the phone. Come up with ideas how to help Mum when things got difficult. They also worked around adding an extra visit to sort lunch for Mum when her usual supplier stopped their service. Also came along to sit in on visits with the
district nurse. Held annual review meetings to make sure Mum had the right level of care. Overall happy with the service provided.

Dad was reluctant to have a carer but the staff at Broomfield were so professional and showed so much care and understanding to his personal needs that he decided he would take their care.
As a family, we couldn't fault the care and compassion that they gave not only to him but also to the whole of
the family. Broomfield staff not only looked after his personal care but helped with his beloved dog they also took time to sit and chat with Dad as he lived alone.
Sadly Dad passed away but Broomfield's care didn't end there they contacted me on several occasions to make sure all the family were ok or if we needed help with anything.
Thank you so much to all the carers at Broomfield and also the admin staff who played an important part in Dad's care too.

My brother, sister and I had helped our 90-year-old Mum live independently at home for several years, but as Mum became frailer and we became older we decided it may be time we needed some help.
We employed Broomfield for 2 hours a week to help with Mum’s cleaning and be available to help her with
lunch. We felt that this initial help would get Mum used to someone else being involved with her care.
Sadly Mum became unwell and passed away just a couple of months after Broomfield started but she very much enjoyed their visits. The staff were always very kind and sorted any jobs she needed doing and used their initiative if she got a little stuck on ideas, they also took the time to chat to Mum and also share a little of their lives with her which she found interesting.

Unfortunately, communication was very poor. Ended up paying for extra 6 weeks of care when my Mum went into hospital. One visit was attended and when no answer there was no contact from the company to check the reason for this which would have alerted us to the need to cancel the service. Really unfortunate
to have a lack of compassion in an already very stressful period for my parents. Carers themselves were good, however. Need a better system for these situations as I am sure they are not infrequent!

After reading your review we can only apologise that you feel this way as obviously this is not the experience we wish our Service Users to receive. Following the issues that you have stated we have implemented procedures in all new-staff training.
We have also rolled in new policies to ensure that discussions for care cancellations are more widely made during new Service User initial assessments. Whilst we appreciate all feedback received, we are sorry that you had this incident and have added in new procedures to ensure that this does not happen again, and all aspects of communication are better held.

Mum has carers that visit her four times per day and always find them helpful, friendly and professional. The same applies to my dealings with the management. I feel we were very fortunate to choose Broomfield and be one of their clients. Thoroughly recommended.

I cannot thank everyone at Broomfield enough for the care and compassion they showed my friend who wanted to stay in her own home, rather than move into a nursing home. Not only did they provide personal care, give her medication and make meals, they also ensured her dog had his meals too. The final
couple of weeks of my friend's life were extremely difficult, but there was always someone at Broomfield available to come and help with palliative care, or be on the end of the phone providing support. Thank you!

I felt the service was very amiable to our needs and caring.
I would have appreciated to have seen more continuity with the carers attending said my mother. This allows the carer to get to know their client and see if any deterioration taking place.
Otherwise, I was very satisfied with the care.

In the main I am happy with the service from Broomfield Care Home Care Services for my mum, the majority of the staff, Mum is happy with and she now looks forward to the visits. The communication I have with Broomfield is functional and satisfactory.
One area for improvement is that I raised three
areas of focus for the short visits and these aren’t followed through.

Excellent service. All the staff were very kind and respectful. We would definitely use them again in the future if needed. We only used them for a few weeks while Dad recovered from a hip replacement, but we would highly recommend them.

Absolutely the best care and attention, and I would go as far as saying above and beyond. The carers were fantastic, and nothing was too much trouble. The care my late father received was wonderful, the support that I received must be mentioned, and the priceless help and advice were very welcome.

Vicky Hall

Job Title: Company Owner and Registered Manager Joined: 2009

Vicky Hall, the owner of Broomfield Care, has over 20 years of experience at the sharp end of care. She has provided care and support in a variety of different roles, from working with vulnerable adults and children in care to working in care homes for the elderly and for people with learning disabilities.


Vicky established Broomfield Care at the beginning of 2008. Shortly before this her Grandmother had become older and needed additional support. However, when Vicky tried to organise home care for her, she couldn’t find a company that matched up to her high expectations of quality care, delivered by dedicated and committed staff.


Vicky then decided to set up her own business providing care for others at the level she believed everyone was entitled to. She named the company after the hamlet her Grandmother had lived in, Broomfield in Kent.


At Broomfield Care, Vicky is supported by a hand-picked team of dedicated, committed and highly-skilled professionals.
