Being my first experience I have had nothing but good care and help.
Thank you for the lovely compliment. We appreciate being in receipt of a care package for the first time is a very daunting experience - we are pleased that you are pleased with the service being provided.
We have had a few issues with one of the carers, but this has been sorted by staff and hopefully, we will be back to the standard of care that Candlelight have previously provided.
We do acknowledge that we don't always get it right, however, I am pleased to hear that the issue has been sorted out swiftly for you. Thank you for the feedback.
He likes it now he is getting to see more of the same carers each time, being a person with dementia confuses him to see different faces that he doesn't know.
From my point of view, it helps me as he will play me up, but knowing they are coming makes him get up out of bed.
Thank you for those kind words. Continuity of care is important for us as a company and our coordinators work hard to ensure this happens whenever it is reasonably practical for them to do. Your husband obviously looks forward to their visits.
This was my first introduction to having a carer and naturally. I was a bit nervous, anyhow I must say it all went very well. The regular male carer was so helpful, friendly and caring and I cannot praise him and the company enough. It took so much pressure away from my family.
Thank you for leaving this compliment about one of our Home First Reablement team member, I am so pleased to learn that you have been happy with the service you received.
We find the carers are caring and do a very good job in the time allowed. Always try to be pleasant even if they have had a hard day. It seems an impossible task to find a parking spot and see to the client in the time allowed but they always seem to arrive with a smile on their faces which is a positive start.
Thank you for submitting your review, our staff are our most important resources. Parking can be a problem for them sometimes but glad to hear they arrive with smiles on their faces.

Meet the Team (6)
Sarah started her journey with Candlelight back in 2003. She began as a domiciliary carer and then transferred into the Live in department providing a service of 24-hour care and support.
This hands-on care experience set Sarah in good stead to progress into an office-based Care Coordinator role.
Sarah was able to gain the knowledge and skills and complete various qualifications along the way that then provided her with an opportunity to progress into a management role.
In 2021, Sarah was awarded her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and was successful in becoming Candlelight’s Discharge to Assess manager. This role brought with it a focus on partnership working and a patient-focused, person-centred approach to regaining independence.
In February 2022, Sarah gained her CQC Registration, enabling the D2A service at Candlelight to have its own dedicated Registered Manager.
Sarah has had many opportunities to progress at Candlelight, and her most recent achievement is being appointed as the new Business and Development Manager.
In her own time, Sarah enjoys films, cooking and travelling.
Loraine supervises and provides support to care professionals and clients in Wells, Shepton Mallet and the surrounding areas. She resolves any concerns and ensures that clients have regular care professionals as much as possible, to promote continuity for them.
Loraine has worked in care since 1996 and started her career working in a Nursing Home in Hampshire.
Away from Candlelight Care, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, knitting, and crafts.
Before Mandy joined Candlelight she worked in care, including a special needs school, and brought up her own four children.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and grandchildren and going on walks.
Elaine Frost Joined Candlelight as a Care Support in 2013, In 2021 she joined the Care Assessor team and then progressed in April 2024 to a Care Co-Ordinator.
Elaine has previously worked as a chef, reflexologist, and beauty therapist amongst other things.
Elaine loves travelling to exotic countries, snorkelling and spending time with her four grandchildren.
Clair joined Candlelight in 2020 as part of the domiciliary team, and then in 2023, she moved into the role of a Reablement Support Worker
As part of the D2A team, Clair has supported hundreds of patients returning home from the hospital, with them reaching full independence.
Most recently, Clair has progressed into the role of Trainer for our Glastonbury and Corsley area offices. Clair has started her training and shadowing program, and we are excited to restart face-to-face training in our branches again.
