We were so pleased with the care provided, that when the care package came to an end after 4 weeks we decided to retain Home Instead to care for Mum. This has proved beneficial not only to our mum but also to our dad who now knows he has help with mum on a regular basis, relieving the pressures he was feeling.
All of the care givers have been kind and friendly and willing to help in anyway they can.
Thank you so much for your very kind words, which we will pass on to the rest of the team.
Service has been reliable, rarely delayed despite some very poor weather and challenging travel conditions. Staff are unfailingly friendly and comply with all the covid restrictions. They happily and uncomplainingly deal with unexpected care requests. I am extremely satisfied with the care offered.
Thank you so much for your very kind words, which we will pass on to the rest of the team.
I do not think I can say anything more, although your questionnaire asks me to.
Thank you so much for your very kind words, which we will pass on to the rest of the team.
Home instead is an outstanding Care Company. They have visited my husband for nearly seven years since he had his stroke. Not only are they there for him but are very caring of me too. My husband looks forward to the carers visits. They care for his physical needs but also, in particular, his enquiring mind in a disabled body. The Carers are polite intelligent well trained and supportive in all areas. They show genuine concern for us. Always thinking of new things to do and suitable places for my husband to visit. They have become like family. Our nearest family are over nearly 100 miles away so this is of comfort to us. The excellent care offered would not be possible without the support of head office and their good management skills. If you or a relative wish to remain in your own home and need some extra care I highly recommend Home Instead to you.
Thank you so much for your very kind words, which we will pass on to the rest of the team. It is a real pleasure to help to support your husband.
Communication is excellent from the office to contact with the carers. Adjustments to the schedule were actioned by the following visit.
Would recommend wholeheartedly!
Thank you so much for your very kind words, which we will pass on to the rest of the team.
They go the extra mile to make sure my dad can enjoy himself to the full every day. The impact on his wellbeing of seeing a familiar friendly face is immense. They are wonderful and we can't thank them enough.
Thank you for your review, Thank you again for taking the time to write up a review, it is very much appreciated.
I have nothing but praise. Staff are efficient, reliable, competent, kind, conscientious and a pleasure to be with. It's good value for money and provides a welcome blend of practical help and companionship.
Thank you very much for sharing your experiences, We really appreciate it. It’s wonderful to read such positive feedback!
The pressure it’s taken off of me is unbelievable (as I live a couple of hours journey away) and can’t be with my Aunt as much as I’d like. I feel I’m no longer alone with her care.
All I can say is I would recommend them 100%.
I’ve met a couple of the carers and spoken to others on the phone. They seem to really care about their client and not just to get out of the door as soon as possible.
5-star review.
Thank you so much for your very kind words, which we will pass on to the rest of the team.
Home Instead have been providing a companion for my husband for 2 months. He has dementia and is unable to get out of the house. The support from the companions has made a real difference to his life. Just having someone different to chat and laugh with has improved his outlook on life. It also gives me peace of mind to know he's not on his own every day.
Thank you for your review and comments, we are proud of the work our caregivers provide to our clients.
Home Instead have been able to provide the care and support that enables him to continue living his life as best suits his condition. They have become part of family life for him, and he eagerly awaits their arrival.
From an “ease of use” perspective Home Instead (East Herts and Uttlesford) have been fast and efficient to react to schedule changes and have provided unexpected/unscheduled cover when hospital emergencies have occurred.
I highly recommend them and feel that they have provided great care and companionship to my father and peace of mind to my family, knowing that we have an extra support team available to us.
Thank you for your very positive review, it is always lovely to receive feedback on our services and staff. All our review comments are passed down to the team.
I do not hesitate to recommend the Sawbridgeworth team to anyone as they are the best care provider I have experienced.
Thank you for your review, I will pass on your feedback to the team. It is always lovely to receive feedback and know our service is effective.
We have been very happy with the care Mum has received. The caregivers are friendly and respectful and this has helped mum a great deal. We can tell when she is relaxed and she has been, playing jokes and giggling with her ‘Friends’ which has been lovely for us to know she is happy and content.
Thank you for your lovely comments, it has been a pleasure to look after your mum
We have been delighted with the care we have received for my father from Home Instead. The carer is always reliable, kind and respectful and has made such a difference to our family. She does lots of activities with my father, to stimulate and engage him, and she is always open to new ideas. We have been impressed with the administration which is very efficient - any queries are responded to promptly.
The high standard of care in reporting changes in mum relating to skincare and general condition were excellent. The compassion and professionalism after the loss of her little dog were evidence of good recruitment and ongoing training. My thanks to all who visited.
I am happy with the care that I get from my 2 carers on a Tuesday and a Thursday. They look after me very well and if I have any problems I know they are there for me. If the carers are going to be late or can't see me they always let me know in plenty of time.
Very pleased with the care, attention, and kindness shown to my husband (of 57 years). Cannot fault anything. Thank you very much.
Thank you for your lovely comments, we are pleased to support you and your husband.
Staff are very friendly and pleasant. Very helpful.
Thank you for your lovely comments and the service we provide meets your needs.
Every care giver has supported her as if she were a member of their own family.
We have been given ongoing support from the office team too, discussing needs and worries as they occur.
Every effort has been made to adapt to my mother's needs, even adding additional support from the early days of the Covid-19 period.
We could not wish for more.
Thank you, Home Instead.
Thank you so much, for your lovely comments we are pleased to be supporting your mother for the last three years.
The two carers who look after him most of the time are exemplary in their attitude, work ethic, empathy and in enabling my father to continue to run his own home the way he likes it, while also being willing to give advice and guidance and/or refer queries to myself or my sisters should the need arise. They carry out their duties with care and good humour, both of them work hard and often go the 'extra mile' - such as under the current difficult CV-19 situation; I also find the HI office easy to contact and helpful.
Thank you for your lovely comments, it is nice to read you are happy with the service.
Ironically, having met a lot more people from other walks of life has had the effect of broadening my mother’s outlook and attitudes even in her 90s, and she has enjoyed meeting so many more people than before, which I feel has been a big plus on top of knowing that Home Instead Senior Care were keeping a fairly close eye on her.
Thank you so much, for your comments. We love caring for your family member.

Meet the Team (1)
Hi I am David Bassett, Director for Home Instead Senior Care here in the East Hertfordshire and Uttlesford office. My role includes the management of the day to day running of operations, overseeing the CAREGiver interview and selection process, payroll, HR, and delivering some of our in-house training.
I have worked in the social care sector since 1996, in nursing homes, local day centres and at our local regional college as an QCF Assessor.
In my previous roles i worked closely with people who suffered with mental health problems such as, Alzheimer's, learning difficulties and the elderly. I am very passionate about my role and will always ensure that our CAREGivers deliver exemplary care to all our clients. I have gained my QCF level 2, 3 and 5 in Social Care Management. I am a trained trainer in moving and handling and many other areas and gained Bronze status as an Alzheimer’s Society Approved Trainer in 2011. In July 2012 I was short listed as a finalist for the ‘Internal Trainer of the Year’ award as part of the Hertfordshire Care Awards.
I am committed to ensuring that we build a fantastic team to provide the highest quality of care for both our current and future clients and their families, giving peace of mind for all concerned. We can guide you through the difficult decisions that need to be made when looking for care and help you decide if care at home is the route you should take.
