Everyone at Home Instead was very helpful and professional. My Father was very well cared for by the very caring Team.
Stand-in carers are slightly less good, as they have little advance knowledge of the client's needs.
Nice to see people throughout the day.
No job is too much trouble.
Home Instead, from the first telephone calls with my son, to the first meeting here with me to discuss what I needed (in a very unhurried and helpful way), through to the day that I was introduced to my caregiver in September 2017, made this journey as easy and supportive as possible.
I soon began to feel comfortable with another person in my home and my life and she has become part of our family. Other caregivers who come are also a pleasure to have around; kind, helpful, good workers - but, the main thing is they actually do care! (and, to be truthful, that's all any of us really want: someone who cares.)
Wonderful caregivers whose support and understanding makes it possible for Mum to remain happily in her own home. Continuity of care is understandably important to her, and Mum is looked after by the same two kindly, intelligent and reliable ladies who take it in turns to visit daily. Mum has formed a lovely bond with them. Home Instead is also good at keeping in touch with the family, which we find very reassuring.
The manager arranged a review meeting after the first month so we could iron out any issues as my 90 year old dad is not always happy with the house routine being changed. But the manager was fantastic with Dad and brought in the district nursing matron to see how we could make Mum's life better.
The care team are very respectful and experienced. What we like is that the team build a relationship with the family so there is a good communication stream.
Thank you for your lovely comments.
All carers are kind and very caring to mum and she loves to have them visit her although some do not seem to be able to get to grips on helping her with her hearing aids but this is not really a problem.
Thank you for you lovely comments.
I have been so impressed with Home Instead. They are reliable, friendly, easy to talk to. The care they provide my Dad ensures that he can be in his own home rather than residential care. He has a really good relationship with the vast majority of the caregivers (he has two carers, three times a day). They are always willing to help him with all his personal care, they call me if they have any concerns and they really go that extra mile, far more than I could have hoped.
Our family have been happy with the care of our mother and she enjoys the companionship she gets from her regular carer.
Home Instead have looked after my mum since January 2018.
I cannot praise Home Instead enough for their kindness, professionalism and respect in dealing with my mum.
This is a first-rate care company and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to everyone!
Thank you Home Instead.
Thank you for your lovely comment.

Meet the Team (1)
Hi I am David Bassett, Director for Home Instead Senior Care here in the East Hertfordshire and Uttlesford office. My role includes the management of the day to day running of operations, overseeing the CAREGiver interview and selection process, payroll, HR, and delivering some of our in-house training.
I have worked in the social care sector since 1996, in nursing homes, local day centres and at our local regional college as an QCF Assessor.
In my previous roles i worked closely with people who suffered with mental health problems such as, Alzheimer's, learning difficulties and the elderly. I am very passionate about my role and will always ensure that our CAREGivers deliver exemplary care to all our clients. I have gained my QCF level 2, 3 and 5 in Social Care Management. I am a trained trainer in moving and handling and many other areas and gained Bronze status as an Alzheimer’s Society Approved Trainer in 2011. In July 2012 I was short listed as a finalist for the ‘Internal Trainer of the Year’ award as part of the Hertfordshire Care Awards.
I am committed to ensuring that we build a fantastic team to provide the highest quality of care for both our current and future clients and their families, giving peace of mind for all concerned. We can guide you through the difficult decisions that need to be made when looking for care and help you decide if care at home is the route you should take.
