I live about 3 hours away from my mum and have been getting increasingly concerned about her living alone. She has good church friends who support her socially and visit her, however due to my mum's age and lack of sight, there were many tasks that were becoming more difficult for her. She was initially unsure about people she didn't know coming into the house, but now she really likes the girls, enjoys their company and values their help. I now feel much more relaxed knowing that someone is checking on mum daily.

Very thankful for the availability of staff in the office to update care plans and carer visits. Very thankful for their understanding to liaise with me when care staff change. Having been present when some care staff visit, I am struck by how intune and interested they are in my mum and her experiences. They treat her with respect, valuing her decisions and choices, even if they are not considered safe e.g. reheating food against manufacturer instructions, respect her desire to "waste not want not". I trust them to support her as I would which is a great lifting of a heavy burden. Thank you.

As mum finds socialising and speaking difficult, if all care activities are completed, sometimes the 1 hour is too much, hence the lower rating on value for money.

We have been very impressed with the service provided by Home Instead in Swansea. After my mum had an accident which affected her mobility, we needed some carers to come in at short notice to help her with household tasks. We contacted the company on a Friday and were set up with our first care visit on the Sunday. My mum has seen a few different carers now and they have all been brilliant - really lovely, kind and trustworthy people. We would have no hesitation in recommending the service to others.

Carers have a been very kind and considerate with mum and dad.
They are observant, checking mum for any changes.
They have arranged for the OT to assess my parents needs.
They have phoned the doctors and other agencies when needed.

The manager and the team were amazing from the word go. They were friendly and professional and put my mother's needs at the centre of all decisions made.
The support workers were punctual, knowledgable and totally professional at all times.
The office staff were extremely helpful and really reassured me that my mother was in safe hands.
I wish every experience I have had with a care organisation could be as positive and supportive as my recent dealings with the team at Home Instead
Excellent all round and reassuring to know working to these client centred support arrangements exists.

As a family new to the whole care experience Home Instead have made it simply the easiest thing we've put in place for my uncle. From initial phone conversation to meeting the staff everyone has been extremely helpful, understanding and provided options along the way that I didn't even know existed.
We wanted to ensure that my uncle kept his independence but has that extra little bit of help.
The carers have been amazing and provide not just "care" but friendship and a confidante. Just because they're old doesn't mean they haven't got anything to say or contribute to society and the carers are happy to listen.
After years of living alone my uncle has come alive again and regales me with all the laughs and chats he has with his daily carers.
When I've needed to arrange transport to hospital appointments they've been able to put that in place.
Anything I've been unsure of they're happy to explain and alter if I've needed to.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them

My review is based on the reactions of my mum as she lives independently and I rarely meet the members of staff.
Mum has a good relationship with her usual carer and values her opinions. She has found it a bit more difficult when the carer is not her regular person but the staff members seem to have put her at ease.
Mum is very happy that she is able to have occasional lifts from her carers.

Mum will always voice her concerns and I am happy that they seem to be listened to.

I have been impressed with the focus on care and detail which I have received from Swansea Home Instead, as my mother was recently ill. The carers were the ones who initially spotted there had been a problem and promptly alerted me with details and were very helpful in suggesting short and medium term ways of dealing with the matter. The care plan was reviewed and adjusted in sufficient detail to be realistic to my mother's needs (but without over-doing it too!) The Home Instead carers and office showed knowledge and effort to treat my mother with care and dignity, allowing her the ability to care for herself where this was possible, but also to offer additional help where and when it became needed. Exactly right!

All the carers so far have been very helpful and very pleasant. With in reason they are always on time depending on traffic but they never the less always stay for the whole hour.

They are very good at food preparation and are pleasant to chat with. Laundry is done regularly which works well, and they also do some hoovering and polishing.

Starting from the initial contact everything was done quickly and professionally. The management provided me with all the necessary information, a care plan and a meeting with the carer within the set time frame promised. They were only a phone call away if I had any questions.
The caregiver was prompt, professional and very efficient. She met my husband on 2 occasions prior to my respite dates. This helped so much as this was our first experience with live-in home care and my husband was nervous about a "stranger" in the house.

When I checked in with the caregiver via txt she responded immediately and was reassuring. I am planning to have this service again and hopefully the same caregiver as my husband was very comfortable with her.

My son was very nervous about making a change with his care package, having been with the previous company for around 20 years. he had also just come out of hospital after a stay of two months and had a pacemaker defibrillator implant.
I just want to say that he has a brilliant team now looking after him. Things had changed dramatically for the better. In his own words "Wished I had done it sooner".
He is happy, clean and tidy in presentation with none of the stress he previously felt.

Ben Ruddle

Residing in Bridgend with his wife and children, Ben is dedicated to forging community connections and identifying individuals in need of our support. His academic background in Accounting at Lancashire University laid the groundwork for a multifaceted career, including financial consultancy and property investment.

Ben's motivation to begin operating in the care sector began following a poignant personal experience — witnessing the inadequate care available to his 98-year-old grandfather living with dementia, an area of expertise for Home Instead. Ben was most displeased by the task-oriented approach to care, as he strongly believed in the need to recognise clients as individuals and provide high-quality, compassionate care.

Motivated by a desire to redefine care standards, Ben established a Swansea branch of Home Instead. Here, the emphasis lies in person-centred care meticulously crafted to meet each client's unique needs and desires.

Recognising Home Instead's unparalleled commitment to compassion and individualised care, Ben was drawn to its distinctive approach, where service quality takes precedence above all else.
