It is very early in connection with Home Instead having only had two visits so far and difficult to assess. However, I cannot fault the two carers' personalities and help and this allowed the easy acceptance of my wife who for some time has been resistant to having someone she doesn't know in the home. I am sure that the carer will gain more of my wife's trust as time goes on and will make a huge contribution to her wellbeing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with Home Instead. We're thrilled to hear that your first two visits have gone smoothly and that our carers' personalities and assistance have made a positive impression on you and your wife. It is an absolute pleasure to support such a lovely couple.

Mum and Dad are very pleased with the visits they have received. The caregiver is friendly and polite. She is always on time. She carries out required tasks to a good standard and takes extra care to finish tasks promptly. This is a new experience for Mum and Dad but so far they are finding the visits helpful.

Mum absolutely loves her visits from the companion. It is her opportunity to have company, someone who will help her to do the things she wants to do and to go to the places she wants to go. I live a very long way away, and it is so reassuring to know that someone will call in and spend time with her. Thank you so much.

Good overall experience. My father who uses the care service, is very happy with the care given. Always happy to go the extra mile. Very caring and helpful. I have been present for some of the visits and I found them to be wonderful and happy to sometimes just chat, which is what my dad needs.

Mum and Dad have been cared for now for over 10 months. They have come to rely on the carer who visits every weekday morning and helps them start the day. While her primary responsibility is Dad, helping him through a period of illness with the morning routine, she has also been very kind with Mum giving much-needed companionship and offering practical help with tasks too much for her limited mobility. We have been so lucky to find a professional and dedicated carer and this one is now firmly in place as a trusted friend. Her daily reports as to their welfare are ever so reassuring and inform the frequency of my visits and tasks. Thank you to the carer.

My aunt, who is 100 plus years of age, had to go into respite care after a fall in her bungalow.

Despite being of sound mind and very independent, she agreed that she needed a care package in place before she returned home. Following a number of phone calls to various care agencies we were very impressed with the response we had from ‘Home Instead’. I was particularly impressed that they visited us both in the care home and included her in the assessment of her needs. They also visited us on the day she returned to her home to do a risk assessment and introduce her to one of the carers.

I found the staff at the office very easy to deal with. The manager was very knowledgeable and during the initial meeting was very helpful in translating our concerns into the practical care that we were looking for. My aunt enjoyed the visits and found the service very helpful. We wanted help with meal prep and a bit of social contact for my aunt who lives alone. The carer was able to chat to her and prepare lunch in her 1-hour slot. She also left some prepared food for the evening and lunch the following day, so we knew that my aunt was covered for that time. I particularly found it helpful that the carer would upload a report of the visit to the portal that I could read, given we do not live nearby, so I could address any small issues if they came up. If it were not for the fact that my aunt is moving nearer to us, we would be continuing quite happily with Home Instead. I have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead to others.

My mum is very happy with the once-a-week visit for 2 hours. Mum has been receiving care for 2 1/2 years. Initially, the visit was to take Mum grocery shopping to get her out once a week. But as things have progressed the visit is now used to do housework, receive groceries and companionship. Mum likes the different carers, they are friendly and helpful.

My mother is very happy with the lady who comes to keep her company twice a week in the evenings. We are now extending this to three times a week for two hours at a time. The lady is polite, interested in what my mother's been doing that day, etc., and always makes sure that my mother has tea, biscuits, cake etc. before she leaves.

It is only two weeks since my sister-in-law started receiving care from Home Instead but she seems happy with the care she is receiving and we receive good communication from the carers when matters arise. As we don't live locally to our relative receiving the care we are dependent on what she can remember about her care which sounds good. Anything we have asked for to be included in her care appears to be carried out and the company's ability to take my sister-in-law to appointments is extremely helpful.

Very good service. I am happy with the companionship my mum is getting, it is making a positive difference to her. The caregiver is great and her and Mum are getting on very well. I cannot fault Home Instead, they are great. The staff I see are amazing. They are extremely hard-working, helpful, knowledgeable and easy to get along with. There is excellent continuity of care. If I have a problem for example if I need to change my hours on a particular day, I can contact the office and speak to someone who deals with it promptly. I have been with other care companies previously, but never have I had such great continuity, approachable staff and diligent care as I get from Home Instead now.

Home Instead replied to my husband's query for in-home care very promptly. Within less than a week my mother-in-law had the required care in situ. We now have a small team of carers looking after my mother-in-law three times a day, seven days a week, and she is extremely happy and comfortable with the care she is receiving. Ben Ruddle

Residing in Bridgend with his wife and children, Ben is dedicated to forging community connections and identifying individuals in need of our support. His academic background in Accounting at Lancashire University laid the groundwork for a multifaceted career, including financial consultancy and property investment.

Ben's motivation to begin operating in the care sector began following a poignant personal experience — witnessing the inadequate care available to his 98-year-old grandfather living with dementia, an area of expertise for Home Instead. Ben was most displeased by the task-oriented approach to care, as he strongly believed in the need to recognise clients as individuals and provide high-quality, compassionate care.

Motivated by a desire to redefine care standards, Ben established a Swansea branch of Home Instead. Here, the emphasis lies in person-centred care meticulously crafted to meet each client's unique needs and desires.

Recognising Home Instead's unparalleled commitment to compassion and individualised care, Ben was drawn to its distinctive approach, where service quality takes precedence above all else.
