In November 2024 Home Instead stepped in at the last minute, to put a care package in place for our mother. Following a short illness, it became apparent our mother needed a daily oversight visit, which we could not provide as my brother and I do not live locally. While anything like this takes time
to settle on both sides, Home Instead have been tireless in helping to get things right and listening to feedback. The carers are great and now have a good routine with our mother. The daily updates on the app are invaluable. They enable us to follow up on things with our mother as necessary, from a distance. Our mother's quality of life has improved with Home Instead. We are so grateful she can maintain her much valued independence.

We found the level of care provided was excellent. All staff we dealt with were pleasant and friendly and queries were dealt with very speedily and efficiently. My sister was happy with the service and was very fond of the carers, they became like friends. We would highly recommend Home Instead to anyone
seeking care for a loved one. My sister needed to move on with her care as her cognitive condition deteriorated but had this not been the case, I'm confident we would have continued with Home Instead for longer.

Very good service. Have only used one staff member for a year, but she is excellent. The only criticism is in communicating dates for cancellations seems poor.

We have been using Home Instead Cardiff service supporting mum for just over six months. We are delighted with the service - mum enjoys the visits and her carers are greeted as friends now. They are responsive to her needs and treat her with dignity and respect.
The hour visit means they have time
to help with daily tasks as well as much needed companionship. The administration team are so helpful and any small issues are quickly dealt with and resolved. I live 200 miles away and although I visit regularly it is such a comfort knowing that I can have confidence in her care team. I look at the care report every day which is updated online and this communication is so helpful.
Mum has dementia and other physical health issues but loves her home and wants to stay there. Having Home Instead involved in her care means we can help her to stay independent as long as possible.
Thank you to all at Home Instead and a special thanks to her main carers - you are stars!

Home Instead is simply the best care agency I have come across. Due to our circumstances, we had to try several agencies for my elderly mother before we found out about Home Instead. With this agency, my mother feels cared for by the staff who attend to her needs as they spend every minute of the call
helping and interacting with her. I'm very impressed.

Very professional, friendly and supportive service from the first approach through to the implementation of the care plan. Very responsive to the changing needs of my mother, including during an unexpected hospital stay. The care team were all flexible and responsive to requests. Inevitably there are
different strengths and knowledge levels amongst the individual carers but with a willingness to learn and provide the best care, we felt my mother was in safe, secure hands and that any communication difficulties could be resolved promptly. We learnt from carers as a family and they listened to us!

Home Instead have been supporting my mum for a couple of years now. I am really pleased with the service they provide and so is my mum. I’ve met a few of the caregivers and they are always helpful and friendly. They assist Mum with anything she needs, even walking her dog if required. They are always
punctual and efficient and the main thing is they are reliable.
There have been times when I’ve required a couple of extra hours of support from them and this has been managed very quickly by the team, without any issues. I can highly recommend them.

Generally very good - a couple of problems when a carer we had asked not to be sent appeared and another when the carer was late arriving, which the company knew would be happening but I didn't know.

We have been using Home Instead’s service now for over 5 years and it’s irreplaceable for my mother's care. The caregivers are just like friends to my mum which is exactly the kind of relationship she wanted with her home help. We know that we can fully trust the caregiver to always have her best interests
at heart. We now have an app that the caregivers fill in every day so that we can remotely check on her well-being as well. The office keep in good communication with me to let me know of any issues on availability and any concerns they have.
We couldn’t be without this service and it means that my mum can carry on living in her own home for as long as possible.

The ladies who came to support my mother (with Alzheimer’s) were, quite simply, wonderful. Kind, patient and understanding. They are a special group of people to whom I remain very grateful.
The admin team were empathetic and quick to adapt as far as possible to the changing needs of my mother. Living
overseas, I often needed to pass on information or seek reassurance - both were handled quickly and efficiently.

First-class service. My mother loved the attention from the two ladies who visited her house twice weekly. This care practice offers a very efficient, reliable service, and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
My mum actually gained more confidence during the past month and looked forward to their
visits.

My mother, who is now in her late nineties, has been using Home Instead for more than ten years. To begin with, it was mainly for companionship, but now they help her get washed and dressed and get undressed for bed. The carers provide her with three meals a day, wash clothes in the washing machine,
wash up, vacuum and do the shopping.
Throughout the pandemic, Home Instead has provided her with the three visits without fail, although occasionally, the time has to be changed by a one-time slot (ie +/- 1 hr 15 mins) due to staff sickness.
The staff are friendly and very competent and take special care of my mother. She is very happy with their services and sees them as her friends. They communicate well with each other.
If there are any technical problems, the carers can contact me directly, help me diagnose the issue remotely and liaise with me as I get the problem resolved.
The office staff know me well and are always very helpful and supportive if we have any challenges.

We have been using Home Instead for 18-months, and we were lucky to have the same carer throughout that time. My mum suffers with Dementia, so having the same carer was invaluable. Mum was able to build a lovely relationship with her carer and was always pleased to see her.
We also used Home Instead
when Dad wanted to trail an overnight stay, and the lady that came was fabulous too. Dad and I were really worried that Mum would be anxious, but Mum loved the lady that stayed, and they had fun together. So it was a very positive experience.
The office team have always been friendly and helpful, and the owner was very professional on his initial visit, and it was appreciated when he popped in to see them with a card at Christmas.
Sadly we have had to make the heartbreaking decision to find permanent care for Mum due to the severity of her illness and have not cancelled the care provided by Home instead.
We would definitely recommend their service to others.
Reply from Philip Batchelor, Owner at Home Instead (Cardiff)

Dear Karen, thanks so much for your feedback. We really appreciate it. We're delighted that our approach, which offers continuity of care has worked so well; we find this approach is especially valuable for clients living with dementia. Our care professionals also benefit from our specialist dementia training, which gives them added confidence. All best wishes to you and your family as mum transitions to residential care.
